Thank you for this great tutorial! I was looking everywhere for instructions on how to make this specific type of bag and I finally found this video which is perfect! I also wanted to add that your video itself was extremely clear, and you gave very easy to understand instructions at a very good pace. By far one of the best tutorials I’ve seen

I have always been a weird person, I have never sewn a garment for myself but I do find myself looking for organizers and of course I need to make it very complicated and like a fabric sleeve around an old binder that I had lying around.
This video has given me a lot of ideas and motivation on how to go about with the thing. I am currently in the design phase and trying stuff out with an old duvet cover. Already I am using techniques I never used before like the iron on stuff that makes your fabric more rigid. And now I also need to use vinyl and a zipper.
Thank you for showing how easy this can be!

Thanks Erica. This has lots of possibilities. My daughter said the other day she wants to learn to crochet but you know how it is, you say these things and sometimes never get started. So, I thought, I would make a crochet kit for her and that way she might get motivated. This would be great for the crochet hooks, wool needles, scissors, stitch markers, etc that I have already bought for her. Now the lovely case to keep it all in. Perfect.

Hi Erica - I love this little zipper notions holder. You come up with the best things and you also show us how to do every step! You are very creative and I’m thankful for all your tutorials. I can sew just about anything as long as I can visually see it being made. You are the very best at this. Still haven’t braved a quilt yet but I found an easy pattern to try and sew this winter. Fingers crossed! Lol. Thank you for all you do. It is very much appreciated.

Love this, but would never get the long zipper to work. I use your idea and make it flat (…use Velcro or snaps…lol. You can iron your ironing board, then lay the vinyl on the warm board. I also increase stitch length when stitching on vinyl? Makes less holes in it.

The cat doing its thing is something I'm way too familiar with. She just insists on being right in the middle of whatever is the sewing action of the day. She helps when I'm Skyping too. I haven't sewed any tails or toes together...somehow. If I close the door, then I get the howling and scratching to be let in along with whatever happens to my woodwork. It's all pretty funny but it does slow me down at times. (Let me count the ways?? LOL)
This bag is super cute and I am pretty sure I need one. I don't think I have a long zipper in the stash but it's not hard to get one. I'd love to make one for the granddaughters, too. I have three so I will be busy.
