I'm wondering if the sofa back pillows are the Murphy bed pillows? Wouldn't you remove the back sofa cushions before lowering the Murphy bed? I mean, if it was a sofa bed (which I've slept on in several vacations), the cushions come off before converting the sofa into the bed.

The rooms are not guaranteed by 4pm or any earlier. 4pm is the check in time that they aim for but still not guaranteed.

We’re dvc members and Riviera is our home! We love it there!! We’ve been really lucky with earlier check in. I do think dvc resorts have a slower room turn over because Dvc resorts has studios, 1,2,and 3 bedrooms so mousekeeping has to clean rooms with multiple bathrooms and full kitchens. Much more to clean than the values and moderate resorts!
The room is small, but the space is really cute and comfortable! I like it!

Hi Kyle and Casey! About the rooms being ready on time, I have worked in the hotel industry for about 10 years and have been a Front Office Manager but also my family are DVC members. So I can touch on the time frame of rooms being ready for both areas lol. Yes, the room should be ready at checkin time but we were always told it was a “suggested” time 🤪 but really it’s when rooms “start” to be ready. Trust me, I wish I was able to control the time frame of rooms being ready but that is all about the previous guest checking out on time, how dirty they might have made the room, and of course housekeeping cleaning the room! The amount of times I got yelled at working at the front desk and it was out of my control 🥴 BUT on the DVC side, yes.. the rooms can take a bit. We would always just drop our bags and head to the park so it was never a big deal but I totally get it! Plus with the size of y’all’s room, idk why it took so long! Thanks for sharing y’all’s experience, I hope it’s a wonderful staycation!! 😊
I'm guessing the smallest rooms are done last because they are the smallest rooms? 😀

This is perfect for two people. It’s small but I’ve never spent much time in the room other than sleeping so it’s great! Definitely going to think about this for my next trip
Casey is so natural on camera it’s like she has been doing it forever 😊 Kyle it will be fun to see if you and your brother are anything alike. I would feel cheated for how much you paid for that tiny room especially since you got checked in late. Key West is much nicer IMO
Majority of the time you’ve been able to check in early, and the rooms were ready 1 hour+ early. Give them a break if 1 or 2 times they’re less than an hour late with the room. :D

We are DVC members. If our rooms aren’t ready, I stop at the front desk just to check. Sometimes it’s ready but for some reason I don’t get the text or email.
DVC member here since 1996 - stayed at Riviera 3 times . I can’t remember ever having a room ready after 4PM. Usually earlier - If you check in on the app- you can give them an arrival time and they will try to have room ready for you - but it’s not guaranteed. Also - there is a Deluxe studio in addition to the tower studio. The deluxe studios are much bigger and sleep 4 or maybe 5 ( don’t remember ).

Dude, chill out abut the room not being ready. 4pm is just the check in time. Give the staff some grace and be patient. And just FYI, the room you stayed in is only 5 sq ft smaller than the value resort rooms so for the price you paid, I'd skip the Rivera and stay at a value.
You can always utilize the resort with having bell service watch your bags. I have always flown in got to the resort and checked in. Then left all luggage with bell service while going to Disney Springs and they will take your bags to your room when it's available. Never have I lounged around with my bags until it was ready.
My girlfriend and I had this same issue at Gran Destino back in late June, weren’t able to get into our room until almost 5. Luckily, they have a beautiful lobby to wait in!
I think that 4pm is the check in time but there is NO guarantee that your room is ready at that time at a DVC resort,
Kyle - your fascination with squirrels cracks me up!! I had a pretty well-trained dog that could not pass the squirrel distraction test ever!! All the training went out the window when he spotted one, it was funny but maddening at the time. Loved the video, Casey is settling in as a great addition to the vlog with her perspective and input. Was in Disney Springs last evening and you r right about things being so busy this weekend. All the best, keep the good stuff happening!!

One thing that we did, which I don't know if it really helped. We did an online check in earlier and said we were coming in earlier than expected. I think it did help to get our room ready on time. This was over at the Wilderness Lodge. But getting in there a little early really did help.
Chill out about the room, Kyle. I stay DVC at GF several times a year and my room is rarely ready before 4pm. Plus, you're there on a very busy holiday weekend. Give the staff a little grace. Casey's right- you don't have anywhere you need to be; just enjoy the resort.
If you’re paying 500 to 700 a night there is no reason for a room not to be ready. Not a big deal if you staying longer but for a one night stay they should prioritize
I disagree. The rooms are very expensive and you should be able to check in on time.
I don’t think he was being rude at all. He’s simply making people aware who have never been to Disney or staying at that resort because some people could be traveling and getting there around four hoping that the room will be ready to go and get some rest, so that is something to be aware of if your room is not even going to be ready until after four.
I hope you find time to show support for the cast member’s union fight for fair wages in contract negotiations.

This was pre-covid but when I stayed at Riviera my room was ready at 10:00 AM. Likely was a slow time, but like you said you are there on a busy holiday weekend. Also, if you have luggage and your room is not ready, they will store it for you in the luggage room so you are able to go enjoy pools, parks, etc.

Great video Kyle & Casey. Casey is great, she’s so natural on camera. I’ve never stayed at any Disney hotel my family always stayed at Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek which is a really nice resort but I really enjoy coming along with you and Casey.

I like the room…. When me and hubby go down there we don’t spend a great deal of time in the rooms since we are running around trying to see everything. I like that the bed is a Murphy and you can keep it up until you are ready to go to sleep. I wish regular rooms would have 2 toilets….. one small closet area plus regular bathroom…. That would be perfect🙂. We enjoy your vlogs
Hahaha Im with Casey! I started drinking coffee around 4 years old as well. The Riviera looked really cool. Might have to look at booking a room but definitely wouldn't spend $600 a night for that small of one.

I’ve stayed at the Riviera three times and every time there was an issue in getting the room in a timely manner. On the most recent trip, we had planned to drop our bags and go to EPCOT before going to Hoop Dee Doo, but they kept telling us that our room would be ready in a few minutes and we should wait. We sat for HOURS in a tiny vestibule with our luggages waiting for our room to be ready.
That thumbnail 🤣. The room not being ready is a bummer but it's all about enjoying the moment. The resort is so beautiful. It's worth taking time to look around and take it all in while you wait to get into the room.
With check in starting at 4 that does not mean it has to be ready at 4. I don’t think an extra hour is that bad of a wait when you can explore the resort or place your belongings with bell services to get to a park.

The staycation videos, checking out all of the different DW-hotels, are my favorite kind of vids. When planning a DW-vacation, the hotel is such a HUGE part of it, and that’s what I’m the most interested in :-) It’s cozy, watching and exploring these hotels with ya’ll, imagining your self being there at some point in the future :-)
There are stories of my grandmother giving me coffee at 18 months old, so Casey started late on coffee lol. I know staffing sucks and with threats of layoffs, things aren't going to get better anytime soon. However, I think the priority should go to handicap and families with small children, adults have the freedom to explore and go to other parts of Disney property freely where parents with small children and handicap may struggle more.

We stayed at Saratoga Springs in December 2022 and our room still wasn't ready by 9pm! They had a bleach accident but decided to never inform us or change our room. I had to stand in a long line for the front desk with my one year old way past his bed time to have someone look into the issue and switch our room. I didn't blame the cast member but I will never be staying at Saratoga again.

Casey, I always check stuff before I buy it! Last time I was at the Riviera gift shop I checked all the pink Loungefly bags to make sure the one I decided to buy had perfect Minnie ears!
Love the 2 of you together and the staycation videos. Casey was a natural from day 1. Not sure how I feel about the room. For a night or 2 maybe, but no longer than that.

Casey reminds me so much of Kyle’s sister. She gets so shy and nervous it seams but once Kyle calms her down she is better. Maybe, it’s being on RUclips just more practice. Kyle, it’s school vacation for the kids in grades K-12 and Sunday was Daytona 500. This room having just a pullout bed was awful. For 400-600 that’s more a ripoff. Show Casey the blog of the million dollar Suite at that resort you stayed in with your family. That was gifted to you nicely by a supporter. Hotels behind Disney Springs running $99 to $109. There is a bunch of great blogs of budget Disney resorts for families.
I’ve had the privilege of staying in the tower room, 8th floor, FANTASTIC views of SSE at night for $350/night, 2 nights, this past July. (It had to be a last-minute cancellation but I was thrilled to stay at this resort).
Loving the vlogs with Casey! Makes me want to go back to Disney World with my wife asap!

The Disneyland workers who work at these hotels are on the pressure cooker everyday not knowing when the next meal will come be nice to them please if you go to one of these hotels they barely get minimum wage please act like a adult and give them a compliment or be happy

Last time we checked into our DVC room we got the room number assigned to us on the Disney app under future plans at 4 pm. Since we did online check in we went straight to the room at 4 pm. It was ready at 4 but didn’t get the Disney text message the room was ready till 5:15 pm. So the question is if the room is ready vs the text message being delayed.
I have usually gotten a room by four but I never really worried, we usually get to Disney at noon and dropped off our bags at bell services and head to the parks!
What I've noticed repeatedly on KP's is often rough on the housekeeping staff by way of not having the room ready. I don't see him acknowledge the amount of time Disney gives the staff to clean the room. (FYI, it's based on the square footage of the room not how dirty the guest has left it). I've also noticed KP drops his bags off and then leaves. Come on KP (Mr. former CP, CM) you know tough at times it is to work for the mouse.
I'm sure you are aware of union negotiations that are going on right now, and the pressure Disney is putting on the social media to not give the full picture, and most are going along with the ban so they don't lose their invitation to the next "free event"
I'm not asking you to do that but asking to show more patience when waiting for you rooms (which sometimes are gifts from dvc families)
Yeah Monday might be Presidents’ Day, but every elementary kid in Louisiana started their Mardi Gras vacation Friday. Off for the next week means most Louisiana people are headed to Disney/Universal!

I finally caved and bought my first pair of On Cloud shoes based on your recommendation. So, hopefully you get some sort of deal for advertising for them. They were expensive (about $200), but they are very good walking shoes.
Hey Kyle! Love the staycation Sunday videos! The tower rooms are great for short stays. Last year I had an issue where the villa was not ready till very late in the day.
Since Casey is going to be in videos, you may want to consider getting a double lavalier wireless microphone (ie. Rode Wireless Go II) so that we can hear you both well.
Ah, I remember that room from Adam the Woo several months ago. There is efficient usage of space. It is small, but many folks only use the room to sleep in. I would be annoyed that the room was delayed.
Love seeing Casey in the Vlogs! Reminds me of when I used to go on vacations with my wife (then girlfriend) when we were in our early 30s.
You can also eat the lounge their too my mom and I had no alcohol drinks that were good and I got the little postcards from the gift shop there

If previous guests get late checkout it is going to take longer to get the room ready. And I would guess the larger rooms are prioritized over the small ones.
That being said, I have toured the room next to yours. They are decent. The ones on the higher floors have a good view of the Hollywood studio fireworks.

Hey Kyle, I used to be a big fan of your videos since 2017 but idk the content feels very dry lately
So I stayed at All Star Sports a couple years ago and room was not ready until almost 5. When I questioned the front desk they pointed out on reservation confirmation that it says you may not get in till 5pm. So technically they aren’t late.
Every hotel will hold your luggage so it’s not like you need to wait around. Just drop your stuff and go about your day.
I would never pay $600 for one night specially getting a late check in and then having to check out at 11 AM the next day. That’s a big bummer and wasted money.
You can leave your bags at the desk and they will deliver them to your room whenever you like.
It is Presidents weekend (extra busy) go with the flow.

Hello "young lovers"! Kyle is such a ray of sunshine now that Casey is in the vlogs! 🌞 And Casey is a natural in front of the camera too!! If it was me, I'd be stuttering and hemming the entire time. I used to make work videos a long time ago (super 8mm camcorders) and had to do retakes 5 times on average to get the words out.
ya .... low staffed as disney starts layoffs .... i believe it is time to raise the hourly rate disney ... it is the same supply and demand principle used when they continue to raise rates ... so higher prices for rooms, food, parking, merch.. etc but no increase in wages

Rooms should be ready by the advertised check-in time. I remember when check-in was 2pm. True high-end resorts don't let their guests sit around with their bags. They should compensate you in some way.
We did DVC in Saratoga Springs in January. Room was ready at 1:00. However, it was a slow weekend. Staying in Riviera in May for a week, in a 2 bedroom. Can't wait and thanks for the video!
With DVC rooms you can request a specific area. However they do ask if you if your room request isn’t available do you want what’s available upon check in.

Rooms at DVC resorts are often late. Once I stayed at BLT and we didn’t get our room till 7 pm! There was a DVC Event that night in MK, and that may have contributed. But, I was not happy. On the flipside, I’ve gotten a room at 10 AM and even earlier so it’s just part of the whole game.

Hi guys ! Went over for a visit we've never stayed . Casey so funny ! We did the same thing I was so little and thought it was so good 🥰 Didn't do it with my own kids lol I've collected ornaments from each hotel we've stayed it's fun ! DVC rooms run a little late but if they end up extra clean I'm okay with it lol ! Did Casey just say what not ? Ha ha ha You guys are to cute ! Enjoy your stay ❤️
