@@tangenttrails yes it is... I was actually saying along with it for some reason..... "I think I can.... I think I can." Lol... I don't have a clue why I was doing that, but I was. Ride That Tasty Wave
I love this railroad and have had the good fortune to ride it a few times. For a minimal charge they will drop you off at Cumbres Pass where the CDT crosses and saves from parking your vehicle in such a remote spot. This brought back memories. Thanks ✌
It’s a must place to visit. Chama is one of my homes away from home. We like to go in the fall in time to do trail magic and shuttle SBO CDT hikes back and forth from the pass and town.
That's awesome Jerry. I bet you've been to the Chama Days festival then. Do you remember Viva Vera's Mexican Restaurant ? From Cumbres Pass to Blue Lake, around to Conejos Falls, to Platoro, then road walk to Green Lake trailhead and back to Cumbres Pass has always been my all-time favorite. It's cool talking to someone who knows that area. That doesn't happen often.@@tangenttrails
@@BluecollarBackcountry I've not been to Chama Days. We're usually there the last of May or September/October, too early or late. I can't say I've ever ate at Vera's Kitchen. My favorite place to eat, for breakfast and lunch is Fina's Diner ' I love Josephine's 3 and 4 pound breakfast burritos and her Huevos Rancheros. You gotta try her recipes. Best green chiles around although the cook at Homerun Pizza cooks up some pretty spicy meals. There's a new BBQ place that opened a couple of years ago right next to the railroad wye, Outlaw BBQ. Good eattin' there. You gotta know the system when new to town and looking to eat in Chama due to the odd ball restaurant hours.😏
This was Awesome! my 3 yr old " Daddy look! Thomas the Train is real! which character is that ? " Well that's Cumbers and Toltec .. "OHHHH Cool!" Great Job! My kid made we watch this twice lol, 🤣 Made my kids day!! 😃
Great video keep up the good work! I would recommend picking up a dead kitten for your microphone. It will eliminate all that wind noise and make your sounds more crisp 👍
Quite well. The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad uses some amazing and cool narrow gauge 2-8-2 “Mikado” steam locomotives right over here. Denver & Rio Grande Western 168 (Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1883), 315 (Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1895), 463 (Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1903), 483, 484, 487, 488, and 489 (All built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1925), 492, 494, 495, and 497 (All built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1902, originally as standard gauge 2-8-0 “Consolidation” steam locomotives until 1928 to 1930).
Trains are always so peaceful to me (Colleen) and...the first car is my sons name Dalton!! Love it!...How did you get all these different angles? This is like an ASMR video! Cheers C&J
I always enjoy watching the old western movies that this and the DSNGRR are featured in. Thanks for another scenic virtual train ride!
Same here. There’s some good ones out there.
The train is so cool. This looks like it would be a lot of fun. Thank you for sharing Jerry.
We always enjoy our time we spend in Chama. It’s a very unique and historic community. Thanks for watching!✌️
@@tangenttrails You're welcome.
Beautiful footage great scenery and awesome job filming. It was definitely like watching a professional movie ❤.
Thank you, Nicole!✌️

Great train video, enjoyed watching 👍👍
Thank you very much!
That's so cool. I always loved riding on steam trains.
It’s a great place to check out. Lots of history about mountain railroading.
There's nothing better than a train. It's amazing to see them in action

I like steam. It’s almost like they’re a breathing, living being.✌️

Nothing says "out west" like an old steamer chugging up passes in CO. That, and we can still hear Clara screaming for Emmett over the whistle 🤣
There's so much living history about Colorado railroading on display here.

@@tangenttrails Also their D&RGW 168 and 315 are a 4-6-0 “Ten-Wheeler” and 2-8-0 “Consolidation” steam locomotives.

Awesome train? My only question is how did you get on and off it for the shots LOL
Videoed over multiple days. I did the same for last year’s video.😉
