- I'm feeling like creating a few assemblage pieces that have been sitting in my studio waiting for me to get back to them...and what better idea than to share that process with you!
In this first video I talk about a few different substrats I like to work with...while there are endless possibilities. These are a good start if you're wanting to dive into assemblage art.

Thank you so much Heather! I grappled with, should I stick to one medium or is it okay to jump around? Jump around is who I am...I gotta stick to what's true to me and know there are people out there who will resonate with that...like you! I think that's why I feel most comfortable with mixed media...I get to mix it up! Thanks so much for watching and sending such an encouraging message...that is so appreciated!
Hi Denise.. I too am a “creative” I started with watercolors and got bored . I love using natures finds , I love acrylic on wood, canvas, paper whatever. I have even resined , and encaustic art. I was told and I quote “ If you don’t stick with one thing consider yourself a dabbler not an artist” I will admit , it made me feel very bad about my art honestly. After shaking that off, I realized not everything is for everybody. I will continue to do whatever the mood suits me so there.. LOL
Christine...I am defiantly not a dabbler...I am an art to life and life to art artist! My life is all about art...what I do with it makes me happy, therefore brings more happiness into the world. Those who want to point out how you do your art...need to loosen up and enjoy art more! Thanks so much for watching and for commenting...best to you Christine!

Good morning to you on the West Coast. Just breaking light here on the East Coast. I don’t know how, I don’t know when, but I do know why you popped up in my RUclips feed today. And it tells me I’m already “subscribed”, although I honestly feel like this is ‘a first’ on this last day of 2023. Your studio, your energy, your philosophy - I’m feeling like this was serendipity for me to open and watch Part One of this Assemblage Trilogy today. Happy New Year indeed. Hi Denise, I just discovered you, thanks to 4 Corners Studio. And I was thrilled to see you have a You Tube channel so I'm one of your newest members! I too have an artistic past of starting out in advertising/graphic design, then pen and inks, water colors and acrylics, and now it seems like since retirement, anything go's! I too love the 3D boxes and assemblage, as well as collage work and altered books and art journals! So, I'm also happy that you've included some of Greg Hansen's sites as well as iPad boxes on here. Wowsa Denise, all this cool stuff and creative ideas are just making my head pop!!

Yay Chrissy...it is addicting!!! I love doing assemblage pieces...especially when I have a good substrate. Old iPone boxes being my favorite because they're so sturdy.
