Love it when you share your assemblage tips & techniques. I always learn something handy. Thanks for being my unintentional mentor. 😊 Speaking of “bird file”…do you have any tips for storing/organizing papers, images, cut outs, words, etc? I have yet to find an efficient way (both in terms of space & time) to organize my paper goods.
Hi Katherine...so happy you watched and enjoyed! I do have a great way to store papers, a couple actually. I use roller cart storage drawers...I have three in my home studio and they work great. I have papers in drawers by color in two of them and the third holds small assemblage bits and pieces. They roll around and store easily up against a wall when not in use...I love them...and I've tried a lot of different options. I also keep a couple of small boxes on my work table that I throw scraps in..this is actually where I usually go for inspiration! Denise, this video, for me, was totally fascinating! You had some really amazing tips that I can't wait to try out. I loved how you cut the paper for the back side so you were able to fold it over the corners without any extra bulk, or white showing from underneath. Also how you sort of simply pressed with your finger nail to get the pattern of the hole behind it. Such pretty simple things, but stuff like that always just throws me and I'm ready to just toss the project! I greatly appreciate getting "inside your head" and hearing your thoughts on your process. Totally fascinating to me! Thank you. Excited for part 3.
I love getting my hands messy Lynn…it feels so good and they are my favorite tool! The corner paper cuts just dawned on me one day when I was trying to figure out the perfect corner…I’m sure it’s been done before but it was new to me and so happy to have managed it. It’s always good to know when a small tip like that has impact…I love that!🧡🧡🧡
Denise, I just watched and commented on part one. This one is just as delightful! 😊I’ve gained so much knowledge from taking everything in visually and audibly. Off I go to part three.
Hi Emily...I LOVE and iPhone box!!! They don't make the big ones anymore...so I covet the ones I come across! I have several videos on these boxes...here is the playlist.. ruclips.net/video/X4PbhyrZFVI/видео.html Have fun and thanks so much for watching and sending me a message! Enjoy! 🧡
Denise, it is great to watch your process and hear your tips. I'm thinking you may have already chosen objects that you want to put into hollows? so you could coordinate paper inside and out. Dee
Hi Dee…sometimes I do coordinate papers and object, and then sometimes it just magically happens! Most of the items I use pretty much go with any papers I put them with…I love that! Thanks for watching Dee!🧡
Beautiful! I love how the tinted varathane ages and unifies all the papers. Question: That white surface you’re working on-is it non-stick? I ask because you seem to rest the wet box on it.
I love Varathane...one of my go to products! The white is a new artist canvas still covered in its plastic wrap! Not my usual surface, though it was handy so I grabbed it for it's clean surface. The box wasn't too wet when I set it down and I was pretty sure it would be fine on the plastic...good thing! It worked really well in a pinch! Thanks for watching Ochervelvet!
Hi Rachel! I have used wall paper paste in the past and really like it. My go to's are poly acrylic or an acrylic artist medium...sometimes in a pinch I've used Modge Podge...I think whatever you are most comfortable with. Thanks so much for watching!
Enjoying your videos. Thank so much for posting.
I'm so glad Cindy...thank you for watching them! Sorry it took so long to reply!🤭

I love hearing your thought process as you work through creating these gorgeous pieces.
Thanks so much Cher...I have to catch myself sometimes as I start thinking outloud and mumbling!!! So happy you watched and enjoyed!🧡

So glad you're enjoying it Jacqueline...I love assemblage and have so much fun with it too!👌🏻
I loved it....especially the ruler cutting side paper and wings....
Thanks so much for watching Brian...I loved when I figured out the "wings" and how to make corners neat and tidy!
I learned so much from watching your video! I just so happen to have an iphone box in my stash : )

So, I'm wondering whether a different adhesive would work? How about wallpaper paste? 🙂
