I'm sorry if I miss the part where he said but what would y'all suggest for a step up mouth piece , I need something with a wider range but more importantly a fuller tone.

1st of all, it's important to have a really healthy efficient tone. This way you can try different equipment and assess rather than hunt for the perfect mouthpiece without having the basics down. Secondly, if you are really relaxed and blowing efficiently you can then, to quote Buddy Baker, find the mouthpiece that does the work for you. In my case, I'm considering moving to a Bach 12c size mouthpiece - but only having come full circle, relaxed, healthy tone, proper breath support. Too big a mouthpiece will be too open. You'll need to over firm up to bring more focus into the sound - this causes tension. After 55 years of playing, I believe that I am coming to realize that it's better to bring the mouthpiece to me, rather than fitting myself to the mouthpiece. Live and learn...

@@randscott4676 yeah i just want something a little smaller to try maybe , cause when i play high notes my mouth veers to the side cause its just the way my mouth is (my left side is way more flexible than my right so thats why it veers) so id assume mouth pieces for higher range would maybe help. i do agree tho, ive had lessons and ive been told my tone kinda drops at a D (one right above the staff) so its definitely something i need to work on , tho i dont really know how

@@ginosdabest I hear you. Perhaps ascending focusing mentally on focus will change this. Sometimes we become passive about the tone itself. Yet, equipment can help too.
