Actually I'd say his Camo ability is less like you have a boombox strapped to you, but rather your in the middle of the desert and you are dragging a massive forest camouflage net with you. Yeah the enemy knows where you are, but only in the general vicinity so they have to start messing around in the net to try and find you while your ditching the net and running off.
Also because he's not supposed to look anything like the Mordekaiser-style King Of Death archetype. It's in the lore, people. He was never supposed to be king, he was some idiot prince blinded by young love forced into the throne before he had to make any hard decisions or do anything badass. You might go "but obviously it's designed because sex sells" and you're right. But it would make no sense, LORE WISE, for him to be a Mordekaiser level uber chad.

There used to be a kindred bug a couple years back that caused you to disconnect every time you looked at her recall animation. It cause EVERYONE to disconnect, even kindred. You had to walk into the middle of the lane, pan your camera away, recall, then move then reattach camera. Also old mordekaiser controlled your champion so if they put that in isolde imma be an isolde main
I'd rather have this version of Viego than the literal unkillable machine. I think he is balanced as much as he can be, which is weird to say for a champion released in 2021.
It is kinda sad to think that they could've just made him Commander Ledros instead and i think everyone would've like that version of The Ruined King. but nope..... gotta be edgy.

Hey I'm really glad you brought these back, I was gone for just a wee bit(two years) because of some large life changes like moving across the US from my entire family and any semblance of friends but I'm glad to find your videos again because its nice to see you breakdown the champions
When I first saw the Viego characters and how it looked I was kinda sad, I always expected The Ruined King to be more old, with a beard, strong and badass. Recently Ive started playing him a lot and after learning about his lore Ive grown to LOVE the way he looks, Ive always loved champs like Mordekaiser, Darius, Sylas etc all these badasses looking champs but Ive got to say that Viego is among the top of my pref champs anyways.
Yeah but he's so irritating to play against even if his winrate isn't too high. Think of it like Akali when she was first reworked--annoying af whenever you fight her but still not too difficult to win against. Only difference is that Viego takes far less skill (does somewhat less damage from what I've seen too tbf).

He's definitely on the stronger side, I'm in the top 500 viego's na and he has definite strengths and weaknesses and honestly sad over how Skooch talks about him, dude has a 44% winrate, 29 games, and builds him almost full assassin, obviously he thinks he sucks and just dies constantly

However you are wrong on him focusing the most fed champ no matter what, thats something for assassins, sometimes you may want to first target someone who's feeding to get quick resets and can use their abilities, like quickly killing a maokai to then w q r onto the adc

ok, character design nerd here and i'm going to justify Viego's look. The important thing to remember about viego is that he never wanted to be king, until his brother died he was happy just being a spoiled prince. even when he became king he never took any of his duties seriously, and obsessed over Isolde when he met her. so when his love betrayed him by stabbing him in the chest, quite literally breaking his heart. he became the literal toxic boyfriend of league. He has a young and clean looking face because he never fought any battles, he was spoiled. he has a literal bleeding heart where a deathly mist flows from. and he has royal clothes with armour over them that has been corrupted and deformed by the mist (in the ruined king trailer, you can even see a heart pattern on his clothes. Viego is also hot. yes, this is a character design element, and it's pretty important to him. Women in league have this problem where every single one of them needs to be pretty, sexy, and same faced (with VERY FEW exceptions). Viego is this too, but it works out well for him as a character. he's the example of being pretty on the outside but rotten on the inside. from his interactions we can tell that Isolde never loved him. not really. "you see this slaughter? i do it for you!" really exemplifies the gross clingyness Viego has to his wife's soul. and that's why his design works really well
Can we just talk about how Viego has the MOVESET OF PYKE?! They both an ability that is just a stab forward (not looking at pyke's pull), they both have an invisibility that screams, "IM NEAR YOU BE SCARED!" that also cant charge abilitys with, they both have a dash/stun in the same move, and a blink/execute. The passive, double hit, and pull are the only differences.
They play completely differently from eachother, viego is a duelist that is great at going in and out of combat, and can shred tanks, meanwhile pyke pulls and ccs people while reallying on team to lower the enemy enough to ult
I actually don’t mind the whole pretty boy look to Viego, it’s a neat subversion to the the evil king of monsters schtick. Like, they could’ve make him into another generic Lich King/Darth Vader/Sauron clad head to toe in skull-studded plate mail, but that’s been done before here in the form of Mordekaiser, and he’s also undead.
As European, I got so disappointed in Viego being THE RUINED KING, that I just cannot take anything connected to him seriously. Like next toplane AP bruiser will be his girlfriend. Wow. A common look for these characters is looking or acting a certain way. If you look up the wikipedia page for romantic hero for example you will find this passage Literary critic Northrop Frye noted that the Romantic hero is often "placed outside the structure of civilization and therefore represents the force of physical nature, amoral or ruthless, yet with a sense of power, and often leadership, that society has impoverished itself by rejecting. Other characteristics of the Romantic hero include introspection, the triumph of the individual over the "restraints of theological and social conventions", wanderlust, melancholy, misanthropy, alienation, and isolation. Viego fits a lot of these characteristics when it comes to his storytelling, so it only makes sense that he look the part as well.
I wonder if Viego would be more fun to play/play against if his possession mechanic was his ult (once per fight) with the AoE execute occuring if he decided to discard the possessed champ. In exchange he would get his base numbers boosted a bit so his effectiveness isn't directly tied to him being able to use several enemy's spell rotations.
I always saw viego as reverse sylas. Instead of a massive burst heal its sustained healing, builds ad, and takes the basic abilities vs taking the ultimates
I really like Viego from basically every perspective. His design is super cool and his kit is very fun. Could become my main Camp. I always play him mid or top tho

ok, character design nerd here and i'm going to justify Viego's look. The important thing to remember about viego is that he never wanted to be king, until his brother died he was happy just being a spoiled prince. even when he became king he never took any of his duties seriously, and obsessed over Isolde when he met her. so when his love betrayed him by stabbing him in the chest, quite literally breaking his heart. he became the literal toxic boyfriend of league.
He has a young and clean looking face because he never fought any battles, he was spoiled. he has a literal bleeding heart where a deathly mist flows from. and he has royal clothes with armour over them that has been corrupted and deformed by the mist (in the ruined king trailer, you can even see a heart pattern on his clothes.
Viego is also hot. yes, this is a character design element, and it's pretty important to him. Women in league have this problem where every single one of them needs to be pretty, sexy, and same faced (with VERY FEW exceptions). Viego is this too, but it works out well for him as a character. he's the example of being pretty on the outside but rotten on the inside. from his interactions we can tell that Isolde never loved him. not really. "you see this slaughter? i do it for you!" really exemplifies the gross clingyness Viego has to his wife's soul.
and that's why his design works really well

Can we just talk about how Viego has the MOVESET OF PYKE?! They both an ability that is just a stab forward (not looking at pyke's pull), they both have an invisibility that screams, "IM NEAR YOU BE SCARED!" that also cant charge abilitys with, they both have a dash/stun in the same move, and a blink/execute. The passive, double hit, and pull are the only differences.
They play completely differently from eachother, viego is a duelist that is great at going in and out of combat, and can shred tanks, meanwhile pyke pulls and ccs people while reallying on team to lower the enemy enough to ult
I actually don’t mind the whole pretty boy look to Viego, it’s a neat subversion to the the evil king of monsters schtick. Like, they could’ve make him into another generic Lich King/Darth Vader/Sauron clad head to toe in skull-studded plate mail, but that’s been done before here in the form of Mordekaiser, and he’s also undead.
As European, I got so disappointed in Viego being THE RUINED KING, that I just cannot take anything connected to him seriously. Like next toplane AP bruiser will be his girlfriend. Wow. Next KDA when ? Also Skooch, great video with exceptionally good quality. Unlike Riot balance team or MAH BOI MORDEKAISER REWORK.

why? only good looking people are allowed to have romance as something essential in their lifes? Even after being corrupted by magic that is supposed to make you look like a demon?
@@paulgotik Well no, that would just be shallow if only good looking people were able to find love. But when it comes to romantic storytelling, there tends to be a few tropes that get checked off. A common look for these characters is looking or acting a certain way. If you look up the wikipedia page for romantic hero for example you will find this passage
Literary critic Northrop Frye noted that the Romantic hero is often "placed outside the structure of civilization and therefore represents the force of physical nature, amoral or ruthless, yet with a sense of power, and often leadership, that society has impoverished itself by rejecting. Other characteristics of the Romantic hero include introspection, the triumph of the individual over the "restraints of theological and social conventions", wanderlust, melancholy, misanthropy, alienation, and isolation.
Viego fits a lot of these characteristics when it comes to his storytelling, so it only makes sense that he look the part as well.

I wonder if Viego would be more fun to play/play against if his possession mechanic was his ult (once per fight) with the AoE execute occuring if he decided to discard the possessed champ.
In exchange he would get his base numbers boosted a bit so his effectiveness isn't directly tied to him being able to use several enemy's spell rotations.

I always saw viego as reverse sylas. Instead of a massive burst heal its sustained healing, builds ad, and takes the basic abilities vs taking the ultimates
I really like Viego from basically every perspective. His design is super cool and his kit is very fun. Could become my main Camp. I always play him mid or top tho
