I'm enjoying drawing like shit. It helps that I'm a beginner, and keeping my drawings mostly to myself. The freedom to laugh at myself is where I get about half my enjoyment from it.

Thank you for being so vulnerable through-out all the content you create. Because of that openness you are easing so much unnecessary suffering. I love you dude.

This is brilliant, the message and the art. If this just reaches some artist burdened by the pressures of art in the modern age! The relevancy and likeablity of ones efforts weigh down too many artist from pushing forward and achieving new heights. I am one of those artists, I will internalise your message as it rings true, trust the process but also enjoy the process.

Really really insightful commentary, I love hearing these "spiritual" ideas discussed in the context of art and learning, so fresh and so needed. Thanks a lot for the video.

took way too long to figure this out, I was too self absorbed in my ego and what I thought my creative work meant for my life. Now I feel like my life is meant for creative work.

Oh boy. Reminds me of something from my own live.
At first you realize, you have a passion for it and some day you might even start to think: why not try to make a living with it someday?
You buy all those fancy books, analyze other artists work, learn all those little basics like simplfication, how light really works etc.
And every time you upload something....no one cares. Some may even criticise you, for not good enough.
What went wrong? You search for your own misstakes. Try to get better...Still the same outcome. Slowly, but steady your passion mutates to the need to impress others. You start to criticice yourself for every little misstake you make and somehow....besides all that earned knowledge, you dont get better. You somehow get worse o.o
Why? Because your once passion mutatet slowly into the burden to impress others. You no longer enyoy it. You just want to get better at all costs. Not longer for you, but others.
And let me tell you: it is fucking hard to unlearn such bad habbits and just doing it out of passion again.

You are amazing, thank you so much. Lately I have been pretty self destructive in general and very hateful towards my art, but your videos (and my friends hehe) help me a lot and I think I'm getting better at loving my art and myself (:

Unfortunately, for the many who struggle with perfectionism, there is no easy way out, no quick fix, to make that choice where they can find their joy inside rather than outside of themselves.
