I think this is my favorite jolpe level in the hack. I adore analyzing setups in safety (for the dragon coin room, I stared at it for like 2 minutes and then did it in one try). I think, if the level were any harder, it would have been too frustrating for me. Good job jolpe (my clear time was about 20 minutes for 1st half, 25 minutes for 2nd half. raocow did very well on the 1st half I thought, but I think got impatient on the 2nd half, which is totally valid)
Scary, dangerous-sounding dance music is the PERFECT vibe for this scary, dangerous-being dimly-lit but still flashing dance club of a level. And wow, rao, that was AMAZING patience & accomplishment!
There's a moon to obtain here. Let's see what happens. Death count: 1419 (at least 96 today, I think) Goal tape average: 1178 / 61 = 19.311 (0 / 1 = 0 today) Normal moon count: 8/26 (0/1 today) (0:34) No horses or mantles allowed. You can only bring in fungi and Florida. :P (0:46) Oh, boy. We've got Rinka donuts. (0:55) The level even gives you a flower to start with, and it shows off the vertical wrap gimmick here. (1:24) D'oh, nuts. First death today. (2:05) Yeah, at that speed, it's basically fall and pray until you can figure out the timing. (2:16) That Yoshi coin is not easy to get. (2:28) Alright, found the good timing there. (2:38) Ow, but at least the Yoshi coin was obtained. (3:29) Nope, can't spin jump on them. Yeah, that's something I tried the first time I was playing this level as well. (4:57) Welp, the jump didn't jump. (5:15) Start of the winning run of the first half. (5:51) "Tick." Graze +1. (5:57) Wow, that worked somehow. (6:29) "Tick." Graze +1. I think you got really lucky there. (6:47) Wee, zwee! Took you 12 deaths to get this far. (7:29) "Tick." Graze +1. You're getting good at this. :P (7:44) Aw, the faster speed on that last one got you. (8:11) Poke. (8:19) Ohh... This moon... This dumb moon... It took me so much effort and savestate abuse to get it during my first playthrough on version 1.02. Unless there's soemthing I'm overlooking, I think you need to have max running speed and then jump with that speed from the pillar on the left, which is *_NOT_* easy by any means. Oh, and you have to be big too. Yeah, I totally understand you not going for it. I'll do my best to explain a method to obtain it in the video I'll be making later. (11:26) No, you can't burn these nuclear Rinka donuts. (13:03) Dang, so close. (15:00) "Tick." Graze +1. That allowed you to keep your bigness for the next part. (17:07) Arrived at the goal, but there's still one challenge left for the final Yoshi coin. (17:21) Yeah, it's very unfortunate that there's no midpoint for the extra challenge at the end here, like we have seen in certain other levels. (19:01) D'oh, nuts... But the last Yoshi coin is in sight. If you could just get here big, it would be pretty much free. (19:56) Side poke. (20:30) Got through there cleanly that time. (22:06) I call shenanigans. Those donuts are moving along the exact same path, and you did not move at all between the first one just missing you and the second one deciding to hit you. Darn you, frame rule interactions! (22:28) Start of the winning run of the second half. (23:19-23:26) Wow, really nice! Well, with two free passes for the final couple obstacles, the final Yoshi coin is all but guaranteed now! (23:45) You would've made it through that room flawlessly if you didn't hang back at the end there. Anyway, final Yoshi coin get! (23:55) "Tick." Graze +1. GOOOAAALLL!!!
🟢The Sempiternity of the Void[ 9 | DC9 ]: Oh! So the star world leads to castle 6, weird! Very tough level (not as hard as hard relay), that last dragon coin is scary! It take me around 1h30 so yeah, great unique level! Tomorrow, back to world 6!
I feel like this is a level that deserves Rewind and Savestates. When you get to the same point more than three times, just rewind to there when you die again.
A bit late of a comment, but looking at 6:29 and pressing dot . to advance frame by frame reveals that hitboxes are quite forgiving at times! Like the ending, that was a pretty close one.
_[taps you gently on the shoulder]_ um, excuse me, you dropped the beat when you were in the cereal aisle, could you please being the beat back? Thanks.
maybe if i was wearing headphones, i'd've heard the lawnmower.. ..alas: i have my own, semi-industrial fan blowing-at-max so, for my Intensive Purposes™, i don't hear no nuthin', rao 🙂 even if i did: so long as the noise wasn't brazenly disruptive, i'd survive ====== how long has jolp been in the game now? (if you're here in the comments, i wouldn't mind hearing it from you directly, pengam!) i have a semi-faint memory of you from.. ..11 years ago? (by way of rao, of course)
@@EvilMariobot it _is_ always better for a person to be self-aware, especially towards the benefit of others - than to be oblivious, to the detriment of others that's where i land, on the matter, mon'ami 🙂 i do remember this one time, years ago, watching one of naka's LPs - i _did_ hear a cat mewing softly, for like a second or so, in the background i brought it up to naka.. ..and he didn't hear it
They say that at the far edge of the Tyrian galaxy you can hear the cosmic ravers with their exotic matter dances moving to the EDM and Breakcore music that resonates with their eternal "feet" while the rest of the world moves forward they move in ever looping patterns of bliss and sempiternity.
That brief thought of "good luck remembering [the set-up to get through a specific obstacle], when I get back there in 500 years" reminded me of how high-skill Mario Maker players get through ridiculously high difficulty stages by outright recreating individual segments/obstacles in the editor to grind the solution out of those and then effectively string all of them together for the actual winning run. I don't have any observation to connect that to the actual level here, just a thought that popped up in my mind.
The level would not be this evil, but, wouldn't it be really funny if you went in the up pipe from the 5th coin and it sent you back with the gravity flipped and that's how you got the moon
My usual moon video is up, and yeah, as far as I can tell, it's a very tricky max speed jump that's required to reach the moon, unless I somehow overlooked something. Video title: "Nonsense - The Sempiternity of the Void - Moon"
technically a clutch ending
barely a single frame away from dying right in front of the goal lol
Tags: lol, I edited out, nearly exactly, one hour, of footage, like within about ten seconds
This level's vocal sample is so impatient. The beat's only ever gone for like 3-5 seconds, lol
Could be worse, could be screaming for it like Fred Durst. I never brought it back because he really wasn’t asking very nicely, serves him right,
You brought the beat AND the dagadons back!
I dunno if this would be considered your "best level" in the hack, but the overall vibe makes it my favorite so far.
Thanks :D
> please, anybody, please bring the beats back. my family is starving
NO, FUNK THE BEAT!
raocow Summer Carnival '24
(That description blurb floored me, BTW. 😂)
Now that level looked awesome. Love the color fade effect. Absolutely no clue how you could possibly get that moon though.
The Lawnmowerman strikes again!
There's a lawnmower in the background here muffling out your lawnmower-in-the-background and I'm very disappointed that I can't hear it.
The words "World Revolution" always remind me of Chrono Trigger, honestly. Good soundtrack.
The music in this level is awesome! No idea what it is, but my god!
Imagine you get to the end of that level and notice you only have 4 dragon coins.
You're telling me the beats can be brought back? That's just Nonsense!

Fruity loops, actually. Where’d you think the music came from?

I can imagine a custom Celeste map being similar to this. The only difference would be a lot more checkpoints and no tanking
i liked this one a lot. took forever to complete, but it was wonderful working out a surefire path through every obstacle
This level make VVVVV vibes a lot~
I assume you mean VVVVVV, because VVVVV is actually another game entirely.
