I love how effectively a mono red deck with a commander I'd never even seen before was able to control the game! This kind of creativity is why EDH is so great!
Kumano is such a fun red commander. His ability is more potent than it looks. Also can be used politically. Props to Martin for reigniting my love for this commander!

Just a random anecdote: When I first started watching your channel (years ago) my wife miss-heard your voice while saying MTG Muddstah, and interpreted it as MTV Buttstuff. So, for a long time now, twice a week (and three times a week when we're lucky) she gets to yell MTV Buttstuff when she hears your videos.
I'll wear that like a badge of honor.
That was the most annoying mono red deck I have ever seen. Naturally I loved it!
I like that Fires of Invention saw play in this match and had such an impact. It just does such a wonderful job at keeping mana available for ability activations while allowing you to advance your board state
Yea, I can see it being a HUGE boon to any EDH deck that has red and a commander with activations. It was incredible.
@@MTGMuddstah I'm starting to see Fires of Invention in Sisay decks. It works well because you can circumvent Fire's downside by having searchable responses in the deck for Sisay to grab.

Pretty sure martin is supposed to get the copied ability from the illusionist's bracers since the equipment is still his, and the equipment creates the second ability.
I agree, the copy should go to the owner of the bracers which really makes me want to play that combo.... mmmmm... card advantage....

That red deck is super sweet. Love the interaction with Defector allowing both players to draw 2 cards. Which was a misplay during the game. Lol. But good game otherwise. I was wondering who my red general would be and it might be this one lol.
I think it was the lack of artifact hate, more than anything else, that allowed the deck to go off like that. Personally, I don't like the idea of relying so much on keeping my equipment on the field...
I think Bosh was the "red" commander I liked seeing the most in this channel.
I love when a really obscure commander shines.
Wow, that was an intense and well-balanced game. Everyone got to try to do their thing. The rest of you were just a little too slow to recognize how strong Martin's board was getting.

Crazy game, kinda felt like arch enemy, ppl used to underestimate green, now everyone hates on it.
This game is the perfect example of why I never play without green... you can never have too much enchantment/artifact hate.
That being said, Kumano with deathtouch is a really mean synergy and I hate it and love it at the same time.
White has the way better removal for that tho (except krosan grip maybe, that thing is awsome)
White also sucks at a lot of departments green doesn't, like ramping, drawing and tutoring, so I prefer green.
@@DarkEinherjar To be fair green is the only color that doesn't suck at ramping (black is probably second). As it stands white isn't very good on its own, thats right, but its a really solid second or third color.

You missed a trigger from Minds Dilation when Ben cast Price of Fame on Kumono, it triggers on every opponents FIRST spell casts on any turn

I don't think Max was able to play much bc Martin was really hating his Nezzie out, which made me sad when he didn't discard anything to save her.
Two of my all time favorite commanders... Titania and Kumano! This was an awesome game! Well done!

This was a way good game! That Syr Konrad deck was tight! It gave me good card ideas for the konrad deck I built. Definitely putting in More protection for my konrad after seeing this game cause ain't no one's trying to see Syr Konrad on the field while mill is happening XD

15:52 Equip Lightning Greaves to Zombie token, activate unblockable on Reaver, re-equip. Assuming nobody has anything they can do while it's not on the Reaver, it's now unblockable and has shroud.
And then I see red mana available and trash the whole idea ;) Once again, my new fav red Commander :)

@@DarkEinherjar I have never seen anyone play that, but I guess its mean (although I have no idea how you untap your lands in white)
I had the misfortune of sitting at the same table as a Hokori player... it's as disgusting as it looks. Games are also extremely boring too because, unlike most Stax strategies, monowhite does lack ways of untapping multiple lands, so even the Hokori player gets locked down (and the guy is a douchebag who is perfectly fine with it).
That Kumano deck was nasty. Fun game!!

You can't respond to the morph action, but you can respond to the trigger.
Hey, Ben!! Looking at the list the Syr Konrad deck is missing some amazing pieces in Tombstone Stairwell, Infernal Genesis, Mesmeric Orb and Rise of the Dark Realms. Tombstone Stairwell in particular would be SO SO strong with Syr Konrad, can literally end the game in a round of the table with a decent number of creatures in the graveyard because it triggers for everyone, on everyone's turn. Add in a Blood Artist or similar and hoooooly hell. And thats before you even get to Grave Pact, Black Market, Bloodchief Ascension and the rest. Love the deck but you're missing out on some serious power, and Tombstone Stairwell is SUPER cheap if i remember rightly.
Love this video and was excited to look at the decks but noticed the titania deck didn't have Nissa who shakes the world? What card did you cut for it ?

The Kumano and Nezahal starting hands look best, but beating Titania+Library ain't easy. The Syr Konrad deck starts out worst.
After the game, I'm not surprised that Syr Konrad didn't win, but I also didn't expect the Kumano deck to take off as hard as it did.
I just love red. Someday I will have 10 Mono red commander Decks and nothing else.

Man, I wish that I could do one of these because playing against the same decks every time gets a bit boring. Although, I do need to make more decks myself, which is why I have three or so planned out, just don't have the money for them yet
Something I was surprised is so easy to build is eggs. Just jam in artifacts that just need 1-2 maaaaaybe 3 mana to draw you a card and do some random utility thing and you're in business. There are SO many commanders that can take advantage of it; Kykar Winds Fury, Korvold Fae Cursed King, Jhoira Weatherlight Captain, Yarok the Desecrated, Niv-Mizzet Parun, Gerrard Weatherlight Hero, Elsha of The Infinite, Raff Capashen Ship's Mage, Teshar Ancestor's Apostle, etc. and they cost a few cents a piece.
@@TheMightyBattleSquid My problem is that I like building gimmicked decks, or tribal decks. For instance, I am planning out two decks, one a bird tribal, and the other is an Estrid enchantress deck that looks to draw their entire library and win with lab man

Kumano? How rare, I thought people forgot about him. He works wonder in Torbran.
Hindsight is 20/20, but there were a few times you had titania out and just decided NOT to crack the fetchland. That's just free value.

Nissa, Vital Force animates a land to become a 5/5. I think you're confusing her with Nissa Who Shakes the World?

Kumano is a powerhouse in my torbran deck my playgroup never let's him hit the field.
We had a Torbran game where the guy played purphoros followed by Hordeling Outburst... OUCH.
Now that Kumano popped off quite hard.
This was a sweet game, but I am confused as to why mono red basically got a free pass for so long in the game. It definitely performed well but no one did anything to it for the first 70% of the game, so it's not really surprising that he came out on top.
That Kumano deck is amazing.

Heartstone reduces Kumano's activation cost to a single red mana.
Illusionist's Bracers copies the activation, essentially doubling the damage per activation.
The enchantment doubles damage.
This allowed Kumano to deal 4 damage to any target for each available source of red mana his controller had, while also exiling any creature he destroyed.
