- Bryan Ray always wanted to be the best soldier. He served 20 years in the U.S. Army, 15 of which were in Special Forces. He's deployed to Afghanistan, Africa, and Iraq, going from the most inexperienced infantry to ultimately running teams as command. He's also a mountain man, schooling amateurs on everything from moderate hiking to ice climbing at some of the highest elevations on earth.
Over the course of his career, Bryan's had a lot of close calls, from ISIS ambushes to a Taliban prison raid and even a hair-raising story of an AC-130 call gone wrong. And since then he's pivoted into Health Via Modern Nutrition, a Mike Drop favorite for fans of high-energy operations. But one thing he knows for sure is don't be a leg - and never, ever quit.

Thank you Mike for bringing Bryan on. Never heard of him, but glad you gave him the spotlight. Very insightful, especially regarding ISIS vs Taliban. Can't wait for part 2

Thank you as always gents
Great job Mike, Army Special Forces warrior Byron Ray is a true champion of freedom and American badass hero, awesome Part 1 of the podcast and can't wait for Part 2 next time around
I’m a 63 y/o woman and truly enjoy your interviews. I pop in and usually watch a full interview. What it is that I get from all is the humanity, from a different perspective.
Great podcast, This GB had a great career and stories! If you see this... Thank you for your service to this country!
One of my Favorite Episodes so far… Looking forward to part Deuce 🤘🏻
Damn what a cliffhanger great podcast!
Awesome talk, gents
Lets fuckin go baby. Excited to watch this.
This former veteran has never jumped out of planes lol... But if Mike was there Helping me learn it and jump with me, At 61 years of age I would do it😅 ...and the song, carry on my wayward son, lyrics form the song of the band Kansas.
I appreciate you, Mike.
What an enticing way to end it! On the edge of my seat for part 2.
Love it, you did it in two parts
Thanks for the upload Mike!
Way to go out on a freaking cliff hanger Mike darn, I can't wait to hear the rest of this interview, it's very interesting!
Great episode Mike!
RIP Mike Day, just heard the news.. 😟
Awesome show ! Thank You
Ice climbing is the most amazing challenge to participate in. In my advanced age (76) it's what I miss the most in my mountaineering experiences.
Thank You Mike for another stellar interview from another outstanding person who I am very grateful for their service as well as your service too my friend.
Bad Aibling Station 94-97. First time I've heard anyone mention it on a podcast. Great interview!
No one else has ever of it either lol. Beautiful place, thank you for your service
Another good one Mike . Sure like to hear more dog stories.......
Let’s goooo mike!
Good interview!
I went to mountain warfare school in Black Rapids, AK, much different from his im sure but interesting and was my favorite course.
I love this show... even wear a hat to prove it. However I really hope Mike doesn't jump on the bandwagon to split all the episodes into two parts.
Great part one! You got me, Mike, you rascal! The way you faded out that story at the end...to be continued! 😂 Well, of course I'm gonna watch part two immediately! 😂
I went through the q course with a guy named Kurt and he ended up getting on a mountain team and when I saw him a couple years later he was telling about the jsets they went through and even though it was difficult he had some pretty cool stories. Luckily I got to go to a free fall team but it was cool exchanging stories. Anyway respect to the mountain men.
Cold plunge can stop the heart, don't do it alone and make sure people around you know HLR.
Awesome episode as usual. Looking forward to Part 2
bravo zulu ! Btw my dog comet loves team dog treats ! Thanks for what you do .
This hits so close to home as I grew up outside of Lancaster PA & I so appreciate how his Mom did the right thing with not making Dad the bad guy or the chess piece- I’m the Mom in the situation where Dad made me the bad guy I can only hope my daughter some day realizes & we have the same sort of reunion that Bryan had with his Dad! God Bless you both & thank you for your service 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
When is part 2 coming out ?
You & Shawn’s podcasts are the best
Facts 🙌🏾👍🏾
These guys, with honest, genuine routines. Love the cold shower chat lads
I thought it was Antman, time to put the weed away.
1:53 😆 love mike’s humor
Outstanding
I’m sorry but as a Kansas boy I have to chime in…Carry on My wayward son is by Kansas, not Journey….😂 carry on! 🤣
Would love to see a book by this guy on OpFor. great to get some insights into, that urban, rural and back country tactics for us who have not had a service background and an interest in military tactics. There is so much on WW2 tank/antitank, dog fighting but not much on his experience he has.
even add Dog tactics to that...
ay bro i saw a vid of you on the news ts was hilarious broski
Huh…! Bryan Ray! I served with that guy a LONG time ago, right before he got selected
Tools for me I just can't get into .380s guns or ammo. With respect to you and those who may care I don't know and never have known anyone who carried a .380. But as always good work!
That was hilarious. They got ISIS to mortar themselves.
Great episode get Chuck Ritter or Tim Kennedy on here
facepalm... oh dear God... lead 5.7? I do hope that's in boots and not rock shoes.
5.11c (thumbs up) admirable good sir
@@MrJamesD yes, we are very closely aligned with the amga, many of our instructors spend time within the amga guide pipeline including ski and Rock guide. The technical climbing level is comparatively low compared to amga but they are required to lead a multi pitch trad climb with 2 other climbers after only a few weeks training before moving into alpine skills. Most climb at a higher level. Thank you for your comment!
Support starting with like, subscribe and comment.... now if I fine a quality product I like in my budget range.
Twisary twacked 👳🏿♂️
I’be never tried lions mane but I’ve heard of some guys having some really bad side effects from it. I’d say just do your own research before using it an know the risks. I don’t know how much is mud water or how much you’d have to take to have these sides.
Kansas, Bryan.
You are right! I will punish myself accordingly
BRO BRIAN I LIVE IN LANCASTER TOO
That ain’t a Journey song. Hello! Kansas!
You’d think if a song triggers you, you’d know whose song it is.
Joining that part 2 crowed aye?
Why a part 2 tho?
Leesville LA was quite the place guarantee Bryan spent countless hours on Artillery road up off north fort
And Peason Ridge😢
What a fucking cliff hanger. Where's part two?!
Must have been in alpha company in the 509th. I deployed the same time with Bravo. But your bc got hit. Was it spizer?
