    I really admire this man and how he breaks down things to make it so simple anyone can understand and be informed correctly. Thanks Bishop ! ! ! ! !

    Fully support brother Carlton and I get the message,,I myself was Deacon once,45 total years in religion,I started looking at it differently,I told my friend that we constantly argue about looking at the Bible from a historical standpoint, rather than a biblical standpoint,it doesn't add up, religion reminds me of an old broke engine that needs to be overhauled with new parts and brand new transmission so it can operate better, because what we have ain't getting it done at all

    Religious fundamentalism has caused me as a forty something year old woman emotional distress as I attempt to change my way of thinking and living after realizing that my former beliefs were not rational or something I can continue to hold on to. The lost of my former beliefs and faith has me feeling bewildered and apprehensive about possibly being wrong. Although I now realize its irrational, I still have the fear that hell really exists and that my lack of faith and belief will ultimately be my downfall. On the other hand, assuming I am right and that fundamentalism is wrong, well then I don't know how to define God and I'm not sure if there is a higher power that hears our prayers and is there to turn to on a daily basis. Either way, I lose. I feel as though I will always be agnostic and will never settle on fully escaping my former fundamental beliefs and understanding, nor being able to fully believe or have faith as I did before.

      I think I understand what you're going through. I believe in a just God, and yes I believe in some form of punishment for evil people, but not because they were born in a certain country. I'm a "non-fundamentalist" Muslim. I don't believe you will burn in hell for eternity just because you were born and raised in this or that country. Let's face it, we all believe what our parents and society around us believe. That is why I absolutely cannot accept nor believe that God would punish us for something that is basically out of our control. However, I do believe that human beings must be good and do good deeds. Obviously, it would be extremely unfair, if evil people and good people all got the same treatment, don't you think? I cannot accept an injust or amoral God.

      Metsada007 That's interesting, I guess there are non-fundamentalist members in every religion. I think it's most likely that you are correct. The world seems to have this sort of karma or 'what goes around comes back around' type of thing. I also don't rule out ideas like reincarnation. Some people believe that what you do in this life will effect you in the next one and that God keeps sending you back so that you can get it right or have a chance to make up for your transgressions. Whether it effects this life, the next life, or some sort of afterlife, I guess all I can really do is try to live a moral life and hope that there's no truth behind the New Testament's claim that there's only one way to the Father, through Jesus. All my life I have been taught to believe that Jesus was/is the son of God and that if you don't believe in him, that he died on the cross for your sins, and that he rose from the dead...then you go to hell. Then there's also the whole trinity factor. I know that what you are saying makes more sense and that to believe that a moral person would go to hell for not believing in the correct doctrine would make God immoral. I just don't know what it's going to take to make me lose the irrational thoughts that have been embedded into my brain sense childhood for as long as I can remember. I guess maybe I just need to give myself more time, it's decades of a way of thinking and I'm just one of those people who needs a lot of time to make that mental transition.

      Yes, I've come across thousands of Muslims online who think like me. BTW, I just saw an interesting sounding book on amazon titled "God Is Not a Christian, Nor a Jew, Muslim, Hindu..." the author is a former fundamentalist Christian.

      +Anne Past - You are right - you just need time. Concentrate on seeking God and deprogramming yourself from the thoughts you hear in your mind that make you feel guilty and "sinful". Those are the things that come from religion.(and yeah, there are fundamentalists in all religions). Study the teachings of Christ , for example - those concepts have been repeated many time throughout ancient history. But listen to your heart, your conscience and spirit and you will find peace. I have been on this journey out of fundamentalism for a long time. God can't be pinned down and put within a denomination or confined within a set of man made rules.

    Very good talk ! I also come from a fundamentalist background. Well, actually a multi religious background as I started out Catholic, went on to Assembly of God, dabbled a wee bit in Seventh day Adventist & finished with Presbyterian. Sounds like a four course meal ! Ha Ha ! We can feel a bit discombobulated when going through this combination of Awakening & deprogramming. Not for the faint of heart to be sure but well worth the personal growth & expansion in the long run. In the end it is about inclusion versus exclusion. At the very least, tolerance is a good place to start. At it's best, acceptance is the ultimate way to go. All suffering is caused by resistance. We can resist our growth & expansion but we will only suffer for it. I myself am still deprogramming. It's a lengthy process but a journey well worth taking. Love & Blessings to everyone.

    What about the millions and millions and millions of Christians who may be labelled Christian fundamentalists yet are well balanced, pleasant, invigorating, helpful, and edifying people to be around as they live out their Christian faith? Carlton's Christianity didn't work for him and now he espouses the "fundamentals" of streaming consciousness. If it didn't work for him, is it therefore his calling that he should try and convince others it shouldn't work for them?

    Reguardless of how the human species from an individualistic understanding desides to live his or her life their will always be someone opposed to it with their personal beliefs. Follow your heart, listen to your soul and lead yourself with positive thinking. The only thing thats certain in this shared occupied space of consciousness is that were are in alignment with the universal energies capable of attracting other energy.

    This is good conversation. But we must understand that there is a separation in what the bible says and what we may accept!! The legal system can change anything that they please,but they CANNOT change the bible.We CAN be accepting but NOT condoning!! The one thing that I can agree with in this video,is that when a person makes a decision,its THEIR decision, and they must answer for it.Just because someone loves their life style (which may sharply contrast what written in the bible),doesn't mean that I MUST like it.Don't try to MAKE me accept your different life style,ALLOW me an opportunity too discern the situation and make my own decision!
    You don't have to be a scholar to understand this.Its simply what we believe. But,we MUST understand why we believe it!

    HOW DOES ANYONE SAY THE BIBLE IS INFALLIBLE ?????which one ???????? this just goes on and on. it's so mysterious

  • @thelasthourgetready
    @thelasthourgetready 9 лет назад

    Interesting talk. I am what you call a fundamentalist Christian meaning that I believe that the bible is the Inspired infallable word of God. The word of God is of paramount importance in the lives of people and vital to the fabric and foundation of society. Flawed men do not make the bible non important. Jesus is the only way and his blood washes away our sins in order to have eternal life and not persih thats the bottom line. I used to listen to you preach at Higher D and Azusa I still hear what you have to say there are many friends I know who have taken you path or a similar one.

      +TheEndIsHere FinalWarning - Listen again - the Bible is important and flawed men made religion. It is a way to explain God, which is not perfect. We cannot describe God fully. God works outside the confines of church and religion - not just in church service, not just if the minister prays, etc. Holding on to traditions and church laws only controls people and does nothing about the spirit in an individual. You have to understand the history of the church from ancient times to fully grasp this.

      you have to pick a Bible to say it's infallible . HOW MANY ARE THERE???? ya obviously have to start there. i never thought of any Bible as infallible

    Must we continue in sin that grace may abound, YAHUWAH forbids, said the Apostle Paul. Now, Bishop Pearson is going to fall from Grace to this gospel of disgrace, and that's suppose to make the bible change to meet his nonsense? Nonsense. Come out of Babylon!!!! Live Holy. Live clean!!
