The love I have for these guys and their music can't be described. My first concert was the Hi Infidelity tour in Indianapolis at Market Square Arena. I started playing guitar in 85 because of Gary, and I became obsessed with it. 40+ years later, I still cannot play his solos absolutely perfectly. Note for note, yes. Tone, inflection, feel, no. He was a killer. He was probably using those huge coiled cords til he hung up his Les Paul for the last time. He was the original Slash. The first exclusive Les Paul player, that I'm aware of.
They don't get mentioned much on Radio thinking they just a power pop Ballad Band with a few other Artists is criminal and ashamed. They have many diversed Songs not just Keep On Loving You,Take It On The Run and Can't Fight This Feeling
One of many top fav REO hit songs - Only the Strong Survive! Champaign, IL 1966. 1915 fire truck designed by Ransom Eli Olds. Can it get any better? The rest is Rock & Roll music history...
Perhaps the worst camera incompetence in the history of rock and roll. At 1:52 cameraman misses Gary's slide, to focus on Kevin. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! such a smooth move at the intro of the solo at 1:52 and the cameraman misses it. Even worse: the cameraman makes it look like it's KEVIN doing it.
Lots of Reo and Rod and Shoes were played brilliant band so underated but made for MTV so rare define least they had excellent tastes but those 3 Artists more than others got a few of their Songs played it's just as good as their overplayed stuff if u talking about Reo Speedwagon and Rod Stewart so popular
One of the best guitar players I have ever heard, and I've heard many
Asimple yet badassed solo.R I.P. GARY RICHRATH
RICHRATH -- such style & class
best song by REO
Yup
Nope - Roll with the Changes is....
Hard to pick just one, but definitely would be something either off of Nine Lives or YCTAPBYCTF since those are their 2 best IMO

only Gary Richrath could make a sugary pop song sound this fantastic! One of the most underrated guitarists in history.
You are right and it's such a shame that it's practically criminal!
