  • One of our favourite recipe. This cinnamon raisin swirl bread is so easy and tasty.
    make 2 x 1lb loaves
    for the dough:
237ml of warm milk (not over 110degree)
    4tbsp butter
    3tbsp honey
    2.25 tsp instant active yeast
    455g/3.5 cups bread flour
    1 tsp salt
    2 eggs
    85g/1/2 cup of raisins
    1tsp mixed spice
    the filling:
50-70g/1/4 cup soft brown sugar ( not packed)
    2 tbsp ground cinnamon
    2 tbsp butter (melted)
    pinch of salt
heat the milk between 100-110 degrees adding the butter and honey. leave to the side.
into the bread machine pan add the flour, yeast, salt(opposite side to the yeast) ,eggs and raisins and mixed spice. then add the liquids and set the machine to the dough setting and let it do the hard work.
Once it's done ,pour onto a floured surface and cut the mixture in half, set one-piece aside, roll out the dough into a rectangular shape it doesn't need to be perfect, try not to let the smallest edge be longer than your loaf pan.
melt the butter , mix the brown sugar with the salt and cinnamon, use half the butter and spread it over your dough, sprinkle half the sugar mix over too, then roll it up like a cinnamon roll and place the seam at the bottom of the loaf pan, repeat this process for the second one. cover with a dry towel and leave to rise until doubled in size, anything up to 60 minutes depending on the heat around you .preheat your over to gas 4, 350F, 177c
brush tops with melted butter if you want too and place in the oven on a lower rack for approx 35-45 min depending on your oven until golden and risen. TIP: always check your bread at the first cut off time, all ovens cook differently.
cool on pan for 10 mins then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.

This is the first recipe I have ever seen that you add your flour first. Here in the USA they say on the bread machine recipes to add all the wet ingredients first, then the rest of the dry ingredients before adding the flour. After the flour, add the yeast on top of the flour so as to not to come into contact with the salt as it will kill the yeast. I suppose if yours works, then it doesn’t matter. 😂 I’m still going to use your recipe because the ingredients look delicious and I will add the flour and the yeast last. Thanks for the recipe! 😊

I think machines have had a set rule for so long it never changed, people are scared to not follow the recipe incase their bread flops lol I've had my share of them, machines are great but I never use it for baking the bread Tho which might seem daft, but it's definitely a lighter loaf baked in the oven. I separate my salt and yeast, but otherwise I throw everything in, in most of my bread recipes, I have a few on here if your wanting bread recipes, I can certainly link them for you if that's easier.
it's what's easier for whoever is making the bread hun, you do what is the most comfortable for you, doesn't matter what I do on mine, it's just a guide 😁👍

Hi,im new to discover your channel,I love the recipes,I find alot of the cooking shows and t.v chefs are food that I would never eat or have the ingredients at home to cook, they cook more as an entertainment show ,rather than food alot of people are going to bother cooking at home ,so I appreciate your homemade relatable recipes.

@@mummycookshomemade Hi friend. Clinique is definitely a brand that I think is very gentle. I use their skincare faithfully. It's so important to take care of your skin because makeup can cover up everything. But yes, it's a little more pricier than the drug store brands but definitely worth it. I feel just as comfortable without makeup as I do with makeup because of their skincare.

    • @mummycookshomemade
      @mummycookshomemade  Год назад +1

Mixed spice is a British spice blend. Although there is a little flexibility in this spice mixture, it does combine specific ingredients. Mixed spice includes a balance of some or all of the following ground spices: cinnamon, coriander seed, caraway, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, allspice, and mace.

    • @mummycookshomemade
      @mummycookshomemade  Год назад +2

Here is a typical blend of spices used to make mixed spice:
      1 Tbs ground allspice
      1 Tbs ground cinnamon
      1 Tbs ground nutmeg
      2 tsp ground mace
      1 tsp ground cloves
      1 tsp ground coriander
      1 tsp ground Ginger
