Fun Fact: The credits for the film has an entire section dedicated to everyone that has worked at Blue Sky, complete with Nimona shapeshifting into a squirrel. (Like their mascot, Scrat.) A bittersweet, but great note to end on. I'm glad they got the last laugh against Disney.

I believe that Nimona actually did come back at the end of the movie because she turned into a Phoenix and phoenixes(?) are reborn from their ashes. She did also say that she'll "be right back."

I'm not even sure she CAN die. She seems to be some sort of nature spirit that can just manifest as desired.
A fact I find interesting and deep is that the reason it has such advanced technology but still have medieval themes is because their society is so advanced but old thoughts have plagued what it is in a negative way and it's similar to our world.

If u rewatch nimona,there's MANY foreshadowing things in her coming back to life like these 2 reasons:
•she mentions when trying to be his sidekick: "or RISE LIKE A FIERY PHEONIX FROM THE ASHES to over throw the government"
•she got STABBED by director,arrow in her leg too....IK SHE HAD SHIFTED INTO AMBROSIUS but she wasn't bleeding,AND didn't die from getting stabbed
YES, this! I think it's the ONLY movie I've intentionally watched more than twice, because there's so many details you miss, so much foreshadowing!

This just proves that children aren't born hateful but they are fed hateful words to make them change the way they think. (Nimona's friend being hateful and judgemental to Nimona after what her parents said, their words changed what Nimona's friend thinks about Nimona

The novel actually ended on a bittersweet note because Nimona never went to greet Ballister again except pass by him and gave him glances from afar (He did the same too). So I was happy that the movie made Nimona meet Ballister again and even greeted him. I cried at that.

Actually, Nimona did die, but before she stopped the director, she was a phoenix, and once a phoenix dies once, they get the chance to live again. So in other words, she could've resurrected. Fingers crossed for Nimona 2! 🤞

I was not expecting this movie to be so good. Nimona was initially a lot but her antics and expressive nature really grew on me as the movie went on. She is the pure embodiment of chaos!

BLUE SKY STUDIOS IS SO UNDERRATED , they have so many good movies that ppl don’t recognize!!
Honestly, being drawn to narratives like this ("because I'm different/have special abilities, I'm deemed as a monster") makes me so emotional. And, eventually, the one who was by her side turning on her, even if it's for a brief time, hits just as hard. + Not to mention, Ambrosias being framed and not only believed to be a villain by the general public - but his one true love. Yet, they still got a happy ending.
I think the voice actors did a lovely job portraying every emotion on this film. I'm especially impressed by Nimona's VA (Chloe Grace Moretz), because she's had a history of having her acting career heavily critiqued throughout her life. That being said, she's always been one of my favorite actresses just for being so vocal about how she's been wrongly treated in the acting industry growing up. I'd highly recommend The Miseducation of Cameron Post. It should hopefully still be available on Hulu. Since her role as Hit Girl, I *believe*(?) it's one of her highest-rated films to date!
Ambrosius wasn’t framed, it was Ballister. But I totally agree that this kind of story, when done well, is one of the best storylines a movie can have.

OMG I LOVE NIMONA what an iconic character who wouldn’t love her 😌
when nimona basically expolded and then i saw the pink sparkes i bursted out with tears i was honeslty so crushed. from how it was set out to until we knew the FULL truth they gave us her backstory and because we saw all the happy moments with nimona the animators made us love her just to crush our hearts to kill her. ( i know she techinically *came back to life* in the end ) ive NEVER and i sae never cried so hard at a movie EVER.
When I saw the wall commemorating Nimona full of doodles that resembled her comic book version, I freaking lost it. It got me thinking of all the unnecessary and preventable losses, especially among lgbtq youth, that people don't seem to appreciate or care about until it's too late. Bawled my freakin eyes out
Nimona is alive at the end because she turned into a phoenix a beautiful mythical creature that ‘rise from the ashes’ which is literal they are immortal 🎉
Fun fact: When Nimmy shapeshifted into Bal, you might haven't noticed, there was a pink streak in his hair and when she Shapeshifted into the little demon boy she had pinkish eyes but as Goldenloin theres nothing pink.

For people who don’t know how nimona got into the jail cell when ballistor was caught, you could see a tiny Pink mouse scurrying across the floor when director was leaving.

This movie hits hard in so many ways.
I think something that made me see how wrong the Director and the Institution were was because the fact that we see Gloreth was a peasant girl, not of nobility, and yet the Director and the "word of Gloreth"was so elitist, believing only the noble could be knights. Ballister ended up being far more noble than Gloreth(as he accepted Nimona in the end and stopped her from killing herself.)
It sucks that nobody knew the truth between Nimona and Glorethia back then; only Nimona does.

I cried like four times watching this movie and then when I was wiping my tears away when balister kissed him my tears literally flew off my face from how shocked I was when they showed that 😂 but I was also glad they showed it in a kids movie 🍿😌

I’m always a sucker for found family tropes especially when it’s parental and Nimona and Bal are no exception. They are so special to me.
So when Ballister is in jail, and the shot of the Director in the doorway, you can see Nimona as a mouse on the side coming in
Its up in the air but they are talking about a possible sequel, it is up in the air as it was based off a graphic novel done in the past. but netflix has said they would be willing to look at doing a follow up of this one.
ive never watched a cartoon that supports the lgbtq community and i honestly didnt have a problem with it it also made me laugh and cry alot which ive never really done before i also love the cuteness when she switch to a boy aswell as her savageness and how she gave up at the end instead of killing anyone i really like the story and the animation style and a really love the couple yk i cant leave them out everything about this is great im just here praying for a part 2 i really need a part two of this movie its so heart warming

I watched this movie for the first time last night and I almost cried at the end 😭 Also the reason that nimona came back at the end is because her final for was a phoenix and phoenix’s come back to life 😊
What’s absolutely heart breaking is that you can hear Nikons screaming in the “monsters” wails 😢😢
Can i just say the Director was hella sus from the moment she said what she said right before the Knighting ceremony. This movie is just perfection. Ambrosius never once wanting to believe that Ballister had done it, in spite of the way it went down surprised me based on the trailer, but i love every second of this movie, and the way they approached the love between those two is honestly so perfect. I want to see more of the story, like so do they clean up the institute? Is there another queen now? Is there gonna be a faction of people who agree with the director who try to stop the inclusion of non noble descent kids being let in? I WANNA KNOW.
I think rukiya is so nice because she agrees with everything I think about the movies and shows she’s reviewed

This movie made me super emotional. I bawl my eyes out at the end of the movie, it hurt my heart to see how they mistreated her and she was just a little girl and i cried some more at her attempt. The movie is beautiful and fun but so damn sad.

This movie is such a perfect way to describe the real world. Like, make this a COMPULSORY movie, because some people are obsessed with “ye olden ways” and it gets on my nerves because who says they were ever right?
It captures the reality of society (“You are different, hence I shall kill you, figuratively or literally. And I will use any means to achieve it even if it hurts uninvolved people).
It’s something kids these days know about but are never explained in the correct way to prevent that reality from continuing.
Also Ballister’s puppy eyes are to die for, and him swearing at the end had me gasping dramatically.

And nimona is a graphic novel and if you pause for a split second when you looking at the the memorial for nimona you can see a picture of her from the graphic novel. When she’s a whale and she makes the adult joke “cold in there” and then you skip to the part on the train Todd cracks another adult joke to a reference to “cold in there” witch is “tiny whale”
