Every year is rough for them! But they’re still my favorite group because their attitude is always positive despite all the baloney they go through! Once they figure out how to keep an engine together they will definitely be a top contender 👍🏻👍🏻

When you run on the end of the horsepower threshold of any and all parts available, you're going to have these type scenarios with spectacular failure at some point though
Basically, when the converter locks it lugs the engine. When the engine slows down it doesnt pump enough air to keep the huge turbo spooled. Which inturn reduces the amount of air being pumped. Eventually it stalls the engine.
Depending on weight and gearing you want the perfect amount of grip/slip so you get the wheel speed up fast instantly and keep the engine rpms high untill the end.
Lol 2.6 trucks wouldn't touch these guys. Theres a hand full of really experienced pullers in this video like tony burkhard (dhd) jon shew (quality diesel) Justin Zeigler as well. You're probably missing the part also where these trucks have to drag race, dyno, and then pull all with the same truck on back to back to back days. So spare me the nonsensical garbage about how some 2.6 truck would compete here. Tell them to enter the competition and lets see them drag race their 2.6 truck. Then slap it on the dyno. And then and only then can they go pull with these guys.
eh the whole point is to build it to compete with other custom builds. they make the decisions on what to do, make lacking choices and that will reflect in the competition.

Converter i think with the big turbo wasn't working. But thwy had to swap a lot of stuff around. They gave it a good go to try and still compete.
