This must be true because I can't think of any band like them. I think of H.R as his own genre. I wish I had heard of them before lately. I would have liked seeing them.
Nah hr always hardcore til death. The reggae is is kinda like a testament of howpunk they are instead of playing one style they're like fuck it and play what they want regardless. Seems punk af to me
@@snuffaluffaguss100 Not really. The reason why the Brains kept breaking up was because HR suddenly thought "punk was the Devil's music" and wanted to do only reggae. There's plenty of fanzine interviews from the 80s where he says he's never playing punk again.
Yeah man, full on Praise and a whole lifetime of Respect for these guys. Have been a huge fan since the 80's and am still loving these guys to the present day. Excellent!
The earliest demos of PAY TO CUM from 1978 were just as fast as the 7 inch and the ROIR sessions. I think people are misremembering them "suddenly getting fast", more like they probably played some slow songs or maybe slower in general on some nights to change things up.
Performing punk in a suit is always the perfect touch.
the way HR acts on stage is like no other I have ever seen there will never be a band like Bad Brains ever again
I cannot find words to describe how precious this video is
Dr.Know on the electric guitar is absolutely menacing in the Riot Squad part ❤🔥❤🔥❤
Musical chops and stage presence, the legendary Bad Brains.
greatest of all time

I love when HR looked like bling bling from bum fights he was the most hardcore then
late 70s until about 85 seems when he was most about the hardcore punk

Must be very early 81, sounds a little slower than typical
They were still playing slow at this point. Towards end of 81 they sped up but other hardcore bands were playing fast since 1980
No, these are just their slower songs. The early 81 versions of Supertouch and I were already crazy fast…
