I cried when his restaurant City Tavern closed! I met Walter several times and he's such a warm loving man! He gave me a gift DVD for mother's day and posed for photos with me and my family each time. What a great guy! So happy to see he's still cooking with the same passion as always ❤️

Why did his restaurant close? Crime in Philly? You have precious memories of him.

@@stacysatterfield2154 yes! I have 4 pictures of us on different occasions. He’s very warm and personable. They closed because of covid. It’s not the kind of restaurant that could survive by doing takeout. You go for the experience and it was a little pricey but so worth it. You don’t mind spending $120 on a birthday dinner for 2 because of the portion size and high quality ingredients cooked colonial style. The wait staff comes to your table in colonial attire with full knowledge of the menu and history. They’ll talk as long as you want about the place. Long ago a bride burned to death on her wedding day and she is one of the ghosts there, also a waiter was shot by I believe Anthony Wayne and supposedly they both haunt the place. So interesting and I’ll miss it forever ❤️

@ericnvee2017 thank you for telling me all the stuff. I looked at the menu wow expensive. But it's a shame and I feel sorry for the employees. I've been watching his videos all day. So nice.

Lucky you got to go to City Tavern! I'm sad I never will, darn covid and Walter being older, I'm sure if he was 30 the place would still be open and not a museum.

@@BEEFBARRAGE it was an impressive establishment and I’m so sorry you didn’t get to visit! His show is a good representation of the quality meals they served. You should get the cookbooks! Some of the recipes are a little difficult but absolutely worth taking the time to make❤️
