Cool contraption and easy to see why you'd want it 3D printed. The old laced version reminds me of larp leather bracers. Maybe a future version can be leather bracers with a metal tube sawn onto them.

i think leather in't as cheap and durable as this hard plastic.. everytime the leather cuff breaks or gets loose (because leather does soften overtime) he'd need to go through the entire process of making another cuff. now he can just print another and put the metal pieces on it again if needed

Hitchikers hitch a RRRide by showing their thumbs... So that's a way to remember which bone is which. You hitch a Ride with the Radius. The ulna is the bone that protrudes to varying degrees in some individuals, on the pinky-side. Also, ❤ your endeavors, the spirit of them, and glad you choose to share them.

Its intriguing to see how your puppets are made, and the restoration of dabchick has inspired me to make my own puppet with a unique hand motion that hasn't been used for any of your puppets.

May want to use a hard leather cuff with an attachment slot or use a strip of soft leahter or cloth under your resin one to give it more airflow and cut down on the sweat issue.

Have you thought about lining the inside with fabric from some sports clothes? I think it can help with the sweat
Oh my gosh! Get on with it man! Bring on the dabchick. Lol
Have you considered getting one of those UV spandex arm sleeves that you can wear on your forearm to wear under the cuff to help combat the sweating? Since its a very thin material, I imagine with wouldn’t affect mobility in your wrist at all and you can even cut it to be the size of the cuff so it wouldn’t be visible either.
Er, how about a replaceable fabric liner on the inside of the cuff? As a resident of the tropical zone (~80% relative humidity year round), I'm feeling icky just from the thought of wearing that for hours.

Are you sure it is safe to heat up resin?
Wouldn't leather be perfect for this? More comfortable, sits firm and tight and you can use Velcro with an elastic band to keep it nice and firm without being tight. Also, very, very resistant to wear and tear.
I'm curious as to why you don't do a leather strap with a stiff mounting section for the control arm?
Seeing all the intimate details to Dabchicks construction and secrets, I really hope he is totally copyrighted so no one can steal him. Barnaby has worked so hard and has said he wanted to have Dabchick mass-produced for sale. I hope I can buy my own legit Dabchick some day!! 🧡

I'm wondering why you opted for a solid cuff rather than something like with thick leather that would be able to strap on like a belt. Is it for easy cleaning?
Why not thermoplastic for the wrist band? I use instamorph and it's flexible and tough.
