- Jeremy Kyle and executive director of Sex Matters, Maya Forstater, discuss JK Rowling hitting out at past comments made by Anneliese Dodds on gender as the Labour MP was announced as women and equalities minister.
The Harry Potter author has previously accused Labour of having “abandoned” her and others campaigning for women’s rights.
Shortly after Monday’s announcement, Ms Rowling tweeted part of a transcript from an interview Ms Dodds had done on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour in 2022.
According to the posted transcript, when asked for Labour’s definition of a woman, Ms Dodds said there are “different definitions legally around what a woman actually is” and, when pressed again, said: “I think it does depend what the context is.”
Maya says: “Women’s rights are being denigrated because people are afraid.”

I'm 100% in support of Maya, JK Rowling and all the other good women who want to keep men out of women's spaces. But what worries me more than this particular issue is the safety of children, so many of whom are exposed to this dangerous and damaging "gender identity" ideology.

I was selling on ebay and went to list another item and asked me to pick a dept I was offered these choices. Men, teens and unisex. No womens' dept. So I deleted all my items and won't be selling on ebay anymore. I will avoid buying also

All of this 'you can change sex stuff' is driving me mad. HOWEVER, looking at most of the comments here, I'm going to be a bit controversial.
There are a tiny percentage, (but probably quite a large number,) of true TRANSSEXUALS who truly have lived their lives feeling that they were born in the wrong body. Most will have lived their lives as a woman. Many, if not most, will, under medical supervision, have had hormone treatment and perhaps even surgery, to help them become as close being a woman as it is possible to be.
Some will be so convincing that we will pass them in the street and not give them a second glance. That Willoughby character could be one, if he hadn't chosen to become a public figure.
Now, for those people, in their own mind they ARE a woman, and to go into a male toilet would be unthinkable. Besides, even today, and certainly 20/30 years ago, they would have faced the threat of voidance or at least verbal abuse if they had gone into a male toilet cross dressed.
I get that, and can sympathise with them. I'm convinced that a lot of them will be horrified at all of the present nonsense when anyone can just turn around and declare themselves a woman. It has turned an unwanted spot light on them.
The process of becoming a 'transsexual' does NOT need to be made easier. All that will do is encourage too many confused individuals to go down the wrong route, from which it can be difficult to return.

Labour have said they want to make misgendering punishable by 2 years in prison. This is at a time when convictions for rape if they ever happen can result in no prison time

I have relatives who have ,had the transformation operation, for years they went for therapy, to make sure they, had all the soupport in their decision making ,it's not a flippant flighting moment, they from very early in their childhood, do think different ,play different like different things , ie toys ,games , sports , books , even how they want different ,clothes bedroom furniture and colours, and hair cuts , the way they speak , the way they act , so the parents, didn't do these things for them thinking they'd grow out of, those wanting and thoughts .one with all the therapy, untill in their 20s, and 40s. when they left home with a job , and got place of their own, decorated in their personal taste, then they save up for the full operation, they are not perverts or predators or been in any ,trouble with their neaibours, family or friends. they know that they are bourn in the wrong body, and accept that fact ,they still to this day hold down jobs , and have their own homes ,and agree unless you've had the proper therapy, and had the full operation. then you should use the ,the same toilets .like everyone else. but if your not full ,male op . or woman op . then you should use the appropriate toilets. or they should use unisex toilets .

instead of asking 'what is a woman' ask: what are the consequences of changing the definition of woman from 'adult human female' to 'anyone who says they are'? And who benefits from those consequences vs. who loses? The answer is very clear: the consequences are dire, and only women suffer - while transidentifying males and predatory men benefit. So: the question is not whether transwomen are women, the question is: should we change the definition of woman? NO. Transpeople can have protections without a semantic trick that harms women and girls across all areas of their lives.

If a person sees themselves as a woman, thinks as a woman, acts as a woman, and lives as a woman, then what is the harm to treat and respect her as one? If you cannot have compassion for another human being then how can you ask others to have compassion for you? Show compassion, empathy, and respect by calling them the name they prefer and with the pronouns they prefer. It does NOT harm you to do so but it does great harm to them when you don’t. Definition of a Man: How you define a man is by how he sees himself, a man is one who sees himself as one in mind and soul. Withholding additional power from AGPs doesn't cause them any harm. It just keeps things the way they were prior to all of the pretend.
To allow people to deny their biological sex is ok . But to expect me to have to believe that when the evidence is there denying their make believe world . No!
