Interesting how she does this. I’ve been doing my own since I was a teenager/early 20s (before that my mom did mine). The way I’ve always done them was wrapping the braid hair around my hair, braiding it down, then splitting the braid hair to mix it with mine... I’ve never seen it done like this before.
Maybe I’ll practice on my girlfriend now..

I just did my own braids for the first time. The parting was the worst part. I may need to see if I can get my hair parted at the braid shop and then I'll go home and finish it myself lmao

Do you wash the hair before using. If you soaked 1st you may be able to skip the soaking part.
I wash my real hair, but not the braiding hair.
@@ToniMitchell a couple of people I follow soak the hair and dry before application to help with scalp irritation and to rid hair of the casting.
I always get so nervous dipping my braids in fear of my natural hair getting into the boiled water. Can our natural hair take that? Apparently yours can!
