I got my copy of Colossal Youth for 15p. My local library was selling off old records. I knew I had heard the name in some fanzine somewhere. I figured it was worth it. The best 15p I ever spent !
Disk in 1981, I have the vynil, I heard in this disco period, more Blondie as pure rock rebel, or Young Marble Giants as from no where, or Patty Smith as the mother here
Couldn't get Colossal Youth in the import bins when I was a teen, at least I never saw it. YMGs rate up there with the best from this era... Really enjoying this now :-)
In the states, I live in Michigan, I could listen to CBC radio dj David Wisdom's Night Lines in the 80s and early 90s. That and Brave New Waves, overnight, brought me lots of non-mainstream music I wouldn't have enjoyed otherwise. I love the Peel Session stuff, both for his announcing & the great music, has me nostalgic for decades old radio.
Best band ever

N.I.T.A: one of the best, most hypnotic bass lines I've ever heard
The perfect version of Final Day right there!
Gives me shivers.
These people came back from the 23rd century to show us what music should be like in the 21st!
Timestamps:
0:00 - Brand New Life
2:45 - Final Day
4:33 - N.I.T.A.
8:14 - Posed by Models

Sounds as amazing tonight as it did then.
Absolute perfection.
