    I must admit you are telling the truth, it looks like you are in paradise! I have tried watching a few other kayak fishing channels since I found yours. Some have huge amounts of subscribers. They do not hold a candle to what you are creating. I am bewildered as to why you are not at 60-100k subscribers. Thanks for the great channel, its been real nice watching your adventures!

      The comments are "my pleasure." Although I am not a kayak fisherman I do have a nice little Vibe skipjack I bought to drift the creeks and rivers here in Willamette Valley Oregon. I used to surf several times a week for about 20 years, those days may be behind me, but I still love being out on the water vicariously. You have a peaceful vibe with some dialed in boat management skills, I really enjoy it. Thanks for building a great channel.

    Great video nice catch. Snook season just opened down here, I'll be chasing them for the next 3 months.. Amazing how light it is at 0530 over there in Hawaii..Where I'm at it is still zero dark 30 at that hour.

      That's pretty cool, I've never caught a snook. What are you using to target them? Live bait or artificials? I would like to start using more artifical lures.

      Usually during the day I will troll a large Rapala lure on 30 pound test with about 3-4 feet of 80 pound test as a leader. I will troll this set up while heading out through the inlets hugging the jetties on a strong incoming or outgoing tide during the day. At night I will free line live baits inshore, concentrating on docks and areas where it goes from light to dark, such as under bridges, docks, and along seawalls. Artificial's have always worked best for me during the day.

    Do you have an informational video that shows your fishing rigs, rods reels rating line leader or any recommendations? Clubs? Watched some of your DIY vids. Awesome work. Can't wait to get over there.

    you should do a rigging video of your kayak and gear.

    With the kawakawa, knock it out and bleed it well before you pack it in the cooler. Coat with cajun spice and sear. Good as ahi. Or give to local. Awesome videos btw.

      Thanks dominic, I eat them occasionally, but prefer ahi. I will give it a shot though, thanks for the tip. Lots of times I will give them to friends.

    Do you prefer spinning or conventional reels while fishing from a kayak?

    • @FlyingFish_TV
      @FlyingFish_TV  6 лет назад

      For fish less than 50 lbs I like spinning gear. But I use my conventional rig for targeting bigger fish.

    You put 2 reeds, with a live bait - they do not knit you?

    • @FlyingFish_TV
      @FlyingFish_TV  6 лет назад +1

      Sometimes I will run two live baits, but it is better to run one. After you get a fish closer to your kayak you can put out another bait. I use the loop knot to connect mono or fluorocarbon leader to my hooks.

    What fishfinder do you recommend?

    • @FlyingFish_TV
      @FlyingFish_TV  6 лет назад

      I recommend a fish finder GPS combo with a warranty. I have lowrance hook 4s and they have lasted about a year with all of the abuse. I'm going to take them back to west marine on warranty soon.

    Nice video like always, I'm assuming that your live bait swimming 10ft from the bottom? And really like to see a video of you rig and catch live bait. Aloha

    • @FlyingFish_TV
      @FlyingFish_TV  6 лет назад +1

      Trolling with the weight was really just to separate my baits vertically in the water column. I have only tried it a few times, but the weighted one was probably 100 ft down and the other live bait in the top 50 ft.
