If you type iPad iPhone Apple Watch in a column, the column widens. But if you apply a filter and iPad ticks the column does not shrink because it keeps the width for the word Apple Watch even if hidden.

It would be cool if Windows/File Explorer had a similar feature but instead of expanding too wide for occasional very long names it would be cool if it could be 'expand to fit but ALSO keep at less than Max x? characters , so one extra long name doesnt make it too wide

You could also where you would drag the column width, double click and it fits all columns. Not as you type, but all columns at once.
