    On my MK4 cleaning the print sheet with isopropyl alcohol before each PLA print has solved any problems with prints lifting. I just found your channel. Will continue to follow your XL adventures,

      Yes, thank you for your advice. I’ve been using the 91%. I isopropyl alcohol to clean the build plate and it does seem to help with prince lifting. It seems that PLA lift more than PETG take care. Joe.

    Love the idea of using a fire alarm underneath and a fire suppression system above the printer! My wife is sensitive to having a 3D printer run unattended for this very reason. I’m sure that this would help ease her mine. Amazing idea!

      Hey, thank you so much for your kind comment. Yes, it’s a very straightforward installation and that fire extinguisher is incredibly effective. It’s used in race cars and other things. Also a smoke alarm that fits inside the printer. I think makes a lot of sense. Also, when it was an easy. I just stuck it on the back so thanks for your comment. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.

    Suggestion..
    If your future plan is to reuse that waste filament. You will want to create a bin for each filament type and label it as such.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you very much for the comment. That’s a great idea. Yes I don’t wanna make a filament role with multiple types of filament that would be a bad deal. I think I will use an empty filament bag that keeps the moisture out and label it with a marker. It’s probably an easy way to do it. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.

      You can’t go wrong with a Prusa printer number one and if you want big capacity, the XL is the way to go. I started with a one printhead one extruder now I’ve upgraded to a five. Standby for that video on the Upgrade. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.

    I see you are using the Encloxure I have the a 2 head which i upgraded to the 5 head i have been trying to print polycarbonate with the enclosure closed and found the high temps required for PC i get heat creep blockages that kill prints now where before the enclosure i mostly only had to deal with warping and problems related to that warping off of the bed.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  3 месяца назад

      Thank you for your comment. Yes I like that enclosure a lot. It was fun to build and I use it continuously. I have not used polycarbonate so I can’t comment on that. Pelle and PETG work great. TPU or flex doesn’t work at all. I’m having a lot of trouble with that and I’m very frustrated. Do you have any TPU suggestions? I hope you can resolve your issue with polycarbonate. What size table would best hold the xl. I’m going purchase soon and want to make room for it.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  5 месяцев назад

      So I measured the printer itself which is 20 x 25“. It’s also very tall. The table I have it on is 28 x 34“. So they have to be pretty big. Particularly if you want to have a filament dryer sitting on the side of the printer. I have a filament dryer on each side. If you do purchase one consider clicking the link in this video, it will help me a little bit and the price to you is exactly the same. Thank you. Joe.
