But the thing is I've never did was sharing any of my artwork even after picking up 3d. I just made them because I enjoyed it so much also i guess I was afraid of judgements. But you are right!. you are so open and articulate about everything, even very personal things like your income and prior mindset, I absolutely love it. It's super hard to get out of the mindset of chasing the view count, subscribers, followers, money... people love to see the numbers go up because it's an external and easily legible marker of "progress". Maybe not "progress" in terms of their artistic skill or vision, but seeing a number increase, no matter how meaningless, is still a small dopamine boost which we interpret as "progress".
But it is super hard to fight the urge to focus on self-improvement when a project you spend hours and hours on gets no attention, while a dumb small throwaway thing gets you millions of views.

Heard it over and over again from multiple artists I reached out to and every artist should just accept this fact and keep on pushing the boundaries of what you are capable of. If that makes sense 😃

I half expected this video to just make us feel good and special and make us think that one day we magically start earning money like all the others when secretly they're farming us for youtube views to get youtube bucks. But your video was actually honest. When you can see from the inside out it's easy to spot the lyers.
Before you can make any money you need to give people a reason for them to give it to you. Which means you need to offer something valuable and that's all it boils down to. Being good at vfx/ blender is valuable because the majority of people give up and the ones who continue learning and improving can show off some really cool stuff from their own imaginations. People love art, they love ideas visualised so it triggers their imagination to think of expanding it or something like it but different so they ask you to do that for them.

Hello Sir! Your video came at the perfect time for me. It's my third week of learning Blender, and after watching your short film, I felt inspired. The 35mm (Celsius Short film )aesthetic resonated with my passion for filmmaking, motivating me to dive into creating something similar. i started by watching your breakdown video of Celsius but I didn't understand a thing at that time, so I decided to start with the basics. I completed the Blender Guru donut tutorial and then took a break from tutorials to experiment and practice on my own.
I only watched tutorials when I encountered errors or faced challenges. After a week of this self-guided learning, I revisited your Celsius breakdown. This time, I understood everything - your workflow, tricks, and the ins and outs of your techniques. I applied my newfound knowledge and skills to create more than four animated renders, incorporating fluid simulations, fake fluids, rigging, lighting, birds, and other elements.Right now, I just completed a render and felt compelled to share my progress here. Your video served as a catalyst for my journey, and I wanted to express my gratitude.sooner ill be making my first short film too obv inspired by you.

"It is better to wait for that one yes that is ready to pay a fair price... than to work on five under-priced projects just because you're afraid to lose $10 on a project in the short term."
The golden nugget for freelancers. I did this briefly back in the day, and it's absolutely true. As you keep working on projects, you quickly learn what your time and quality of work is worth. Charge it. The good clients will rise up to meet that price.
Great video, thanks for sharing. Subscribed.

Great video man, everyone has a different path and I think balancing portfolio management and outreach play a large role in success in freelancing, but none of that will matter if you're not good.
    Keep going!

I might as well be in the exact same situation you were until a while ago. It's tough trying not to put money your top priority when you're already financially struggling; and you are constantly trying to prove yourself that you can become that artist you have long aspired to be. It just puts you in a toxic mentality.
This video was like an invaluable wake-up call for me. Thanks a lot for that.
