R1 Rafting the Upper Wind River ~ 6.3' @ Stabler ~ Class V Rafting in Washington State

What a stellar day. I never thought I'd be R1'ing the Upper Wind anytime soon, and definitely not at 6.3'. But I made it and apparently looked good too 😂
Shoutout to all my friends who watched my back and made sure I didn't eat it out there. You guys are the real MVP's and I love boating with you.
The Upper Wind is perhaps the most intense commercially rafted stretch of whitewater in the PNW. After a half mile warmup, the river careens its way down a 2 mile gorge that leaves little to no time for rest. Big waves, technical moves, and a mind boggling gradient make this Class V river one of the premier runs in the country. This coming weekend, boaters from all over will converge for the Wind River Festival, and it shall be gnarly.
