- Nashville police has released footage showing the moment school shooter Audrey Hale drove calmly up to a Christian primary school and approached its doors, armed with an assault rifle.
The 28-year-old arrived at the Covenant School in an affluent neighbourhood of the city in a grey Honda just before 10am on Monday.
Police have speculated Hale, who had reportedly only recently come out as transgender, bore some "resentment" towards the private Presbyterian school.

This is so horrible. The school was for 3 to 12-year-olds, just defenceless, innocent babies. I will never understand how anyone could want to do something like this. Why not just take yourself out, rather than making your final act so evil.

Let’s call this what it is, it’s a hate crime. This individual targeted these people and institution for being Christian.
Not for being Christians, but for what Christianity teaches, i.e. non-acceptance of of being different. This person was pushed too far, and only in America are guns so easily available and mental health treatment so ignored that they chose such a drastic course of action. In other developed nations such a person wouldn't have felt so isolated that they'd choose to kill others with the near certainty that they'd be killed themselves. This person must have hated the institution, and they didn't care about their own life or the lives of others. That's a person who's mentally ill, and in the USA they were easily able to acquire deadly firearms to exact their revenge.

I’ve had all calibers of firearms since I was 12…took safety classes, i have a CPL and have concealed carried for 20 years. I have 3 AR platform rifles (which are not “assault rifles” by the way, even tho the media likes to act as if they are) and I have 5 different handguns… all with their own lock ups when I don’t use it.
