My name is Matthew and I live in a van. I lost my job due to "cut backs" from the pandemic of 2020 and decided to seriously restructure my life. I am also a single dad who needed to find a solution that would allow me to remain in my daughter's life and plan for her future. After tons of research into #vanlife, I knew it was for me.
From March 2021 until October 2021 I spent my days building out my Chevrolet Express 2500, which came to be known as "Lucky" and as of October 18, 2021 I have been living in Lucky full time.
The build was done with almost no experience on my end and I used the one incredible tool I had at my disposal - the internet - to learn what I needed to build Lucky into a very comfortable tiny home.
I have always had a bit of a passion for being in front of the camera and really enjoy capturing the world around us. This really played into how I was feeling after almost a year of working from home when I "commuted" from the bedroom to the couch. I was starting to feel extremely unhealthy, unmotivated and despondent. I HATED that, and that's not a word I like to throw around. This new lifestyle gives me opportunities I just didn't have before and I am so excited to be able to share it all with you.
I truly believe we all have the capabilities to turn our lives around, should we choose to do so - and if I can inspire you to shoot for something better then I have done a decent job and that will keep me going.
There is more to life than the consume, consume, spend, spend lifestyle I feel we have all been conditioned to follow and I just want to do the best I can for myself first and foremost. Our time is limited and I do not want to waste another second on a lifestyle that doesn't bring me joy!

@@griffinmk1 where I live there are no restrictions against studded tires and the province of British Columbia allows them from Oct 1 until April 30

I so love Daddy Matthew! You and Brooklyn are so sweet together. Here in the South, in Kentucky USA we don’t drive on ice if at all possible. I have 4 wheel drive which works well with snow but not ice! And as always, love your quality content. ❤❤

Brooklyn is having a fun time at the Christmas Craft Fair, filling her basket. Lots of sweets there! You are such a wonderful Dad to Brooklyn, and she is the sweetest little girl. Can just feel the love you have for each other. That drive looking at the snowy mountains was so relaxing to me. I always love watching you.

Maybe it would be a good idea to get some oversized mudflaps for the back of the van to protect the front of the Jeep from rocks being thrown up at it. As well as keeping it cleaner. 👍🏻

I will never buy another winter tire without them! only inconvenience is they are only legal october to may here. third... It is always Quality content being with your daughter this way you have saved all memories of the most important and beautifully preserved good and challenging times in your lives in the end it will bring you closer together, as she and you grow in life and love for each other and that is great experiences that is on record, for the lifetime that can be shared with grandchildren, once everyone passes on in life.

I find my glasses behind my nightstand almost every morning and I’m practically blind so it’s very frustrating searching for them!
On vacation in Sept in my hotel i stepped on them looking for them and broke the string the lenses are attached tp! Grrrrr. Had to drive around to block to get them fixed asap.

Question … when you said I hope Lucky starts up would Grace be able to tow Lucky ? you have the hook ups for lucky to tow Grace but would you be able to use the same hookups but in reverse?
No, Lucky is too heavy to be pulled by Grace

just for the purpose of pulling
her a brief distance ( in LOW
Gear ) for example , out of a
travel-lane onto the shoulder ,
or a nearby Parking Lot if she
has the misfortune of having a
breakdown STILL IN a travel lane. A couple of hundred feet
at a crawl in LOW gear should
be OK on fairly level-ish ground.
• If the misfortune happens on a
climb & LUCKY won't roll
backwards easily , you could
use GRACE as a Braking
vehicle nudging LUCKY backwards
( traffic permitting , of course ;
on a fairly empty road )
• That also makes it possible
for a Pickup to be a good
Samaritan & tow Lucky to the
next town by moving the BlueOX
arms onto his rig. Tossin' him
50-100 bucks would be far less
than WAITing for a tow & THEIR

No can’t say that I have, but honestly I did t notice a huge difference when I started towing Grace either. Sure there is a little bit, but it hasn’t raised any alarms so to speak
