Such a sad ending for Toronto. Back in the early 70s myself and some friends where at Al's Southaven putt putt and go carts.saw Tojo Lance Russell and Plow boy racing each other on the go carts. I'll never forget that. That's when Memphis Wrestling was King.
I was a crime scene investigator back in 1992 when Tojo shot himself in the head with a .25 automatic. I grew up in Nashville and used to watch him wrestle for Nick Gulas as a kid. Long time ago.
As a child my friend's mother worked the concession at the Chattanooga Memorial Auditorium. Every Saturday we got to go for free for wrestling and hang out with the wrestlers and managers in the back room. At the time Tojo was a manager using a cane. He "hired" me and my friend to call him names and he would chase us around the rink. We ran from him while he swung his cane at us, we went under the rink and everything. In actuality, he was Hawaiian. A sweet man with a big heart. Sadly, he took his own life in his home of Hermitage, TN (a suburb of Nashville), where I live now.
Man can you imagine seeing modern wrestling say queer jokes or goofing on the handicap. Have to love the days when political correctness did not exisit yet.
Just remember all that is good in wrestling to this day was because of Memphis, when the WWE was starting to go national 90% of the wrestlers were from Memphis and all the big names Undertaker, Rock, Sting, Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man, etc. learned the business in Memphis.
Wayne Farris and Carl Fergie are or were Cousins of Jerry Lawler and therefore are or were indelibly associated with Pro Wrestling in Memphis. Until now was unaware of the connection of Jerry Lawler and Jerry Calhoun.🤔🎤🎼🎸🤼♂️B.W.
I never thought that I'd agree with Jimmy Hart on anything, but he has a great point-There's no room in Wrestling for a bunch of crybabies that wanna go running home to Mama, every time a little something goes wrong! That's actually one of only a comparative few times that I've ever agreed with him about anything!
The joy boy himself classic.
God I love that man ... such memories of my youth ... RIP Tojo
Jimmy Hart and Tojo Yamamoto together. Two legendary managers
Jimmy Hart could bring heat with his mouth better anyone in the Wrestling business!!!
You still can’t get to Tupelo Mississippi on $300.

TOJO scared the heck out of Mr as a kid. Lol.
Tojo should have beaten the shit out Hart with his kendo stick. This is one of the all-time great promos. I love it, "Joy Boy himself."

OMG!! This was hilarious!
What's up with the comment Hart made about Jerry Calhoun coming out of the closet?
Jerry Calhoun is Jerry Lawler's cousin and that's why he called Lawler's "special referee".
@@Rusty3659 not cousins, they are former brothers in law.

Is there memphis wrestling videos on wwe network?
It should be. I had no idea WWE took so much from Memphis.
I miss the good ole days of non political correctness in sports entertainment
Its not sports entertainment its professional wrestling at its best
Does anybody know who speed was
Not sure but I believe it was Ken Wayne.
Sad that Tojo killed himself😒
This is too funny. Love the days of political incorrectness.
Memphis was the Politically Incorrect Capital in Professional Wrestling.

Who would have guessed that 40 years later, these people would be in the White House?
Jimmy was bigger than the wrestler wearing a mask behind him? They had midgets in Memphis?
The mouth in the south
I wish Jimmy had more energy
