    Nice one Lewin. I've been using it for a long time and I've found that if you include all the section options (Intro, Verse, Chorus, Bridge, and Outro) when you first drop in the drum track, you get more choices for drum patterns: for instance, you might find that the 'Bridge' drum pattern is more suitable for your 'Chorus' pattern, etc.

    The arrangement tool is epic! I use it all the time in Logic, but I guess it follows exactly the same principals.

    Great tips with the option button!!! By the way have you made any videos about how to deal with cross fading easier in garage band? I’m finding that I am wasting all my time building automation’s because there’s no cross fading feature, Have you got any videos about this, any shortcuts?

      I believe that I addressed cross fades in my video about automation.

    Thanks for this informative video. I'd like to ask whether the features of arrangement will be effective if the arrangement sections are ADDED AFTER COMPLETING A 25-TRACK RECORDING?

  • @fret2fret221
    @fret2fret221 4 года назад +1

    Are you able to delete sections? Say you decide against a section that’s already recorded (maybe a guitar solo or a repeated chorus or whatever). Could you use the arrangement function to delete a section of the song? Or shorten a section? Maybe the chorus ran too long or you played an extra measure you shouldn’t have for the verse or something. Could you use this to tighten everything up? If that makes sense.

    First, Thanks for all great videos! When adding the drum track and it doesn't seem to really match, I think the problem is that the added drum track is straight 4th notes, while your guitar track is with triplet feel. How do you easily change a drum track into triplets? A recorded midi track you can quantize to triplets. I have sometimes solved it by seeing the whole song to 3/4, but it's a crappy solution.

      Something I should’ve said is that I would’ve most likely gone back and re-recorded that guitar part to match the drums a little bit better.

    Hey sir could you please do a tut on how to change the key of your mix. The latest garageband version has removed it from the upper bar ikcluding the BPM. Appreciate your work. Thankyou sir

    Lewin I use logic which we all know is like GB pro and I have a tip for you on this great vid I started using the arrange track after watching music tech help guy another fellow RUclipsr ( he specialises in Logic) and after about a year I found out by accident that if you do a song like this and lay the bass track say after the guitars do the arrangement track and then add the Apple drummer you don’t seem to have the timing issues granted depending on the time signature doesn’t always work but for most it’s seems to. As always great content.
    Can you send me a link to the FB group as I would love to do a song with you.....cheers J

    When I have clipped tracks at head.. I still haven't figured out a way to move all the tracks (to the right) without the drumbeat changing. I know its because the arrangement segments are not moving with the tracks. Is there was a way to add head at the top... keep everything locked and sounding the same?

    Hey lewin how do I make my instrument an octave lower ? For instance I have a very limited keys midi and I want to make the octave lower from the software but not from the keyboard itself?

    • @GaragebandandBeyond
      @GaragebandandBeyond  5 лет назад

      Daniel Fayyadh When you are inside of the midi editing window, Select all of the notes and then just pull them down to the octave you want to.

    What if I want to move all the tracks recorded to the right so I can insert a new intro?

    • @chronicmango
      @chronicmango 4 года назад +1

      Record your intro at the end of the track. Once it’s recorded set it on the arrangement as intro and drag it over to the beginning.
