All they needed to do was keep making the SMX-3 boot for this purpose. Of course, as seems to happen every time I find a near-perfect product, it was discontinued.
I totally agree. I bought the non-vent type, but really wanted the vented version. It was too late though. I really liked the design and the way it felt while riding.
Don’t waste your money! I needed to send mine back after wearing them for 3 weeks, the Alpinestars logos are just stickers and started falling out in the area where you move the foot. Alpinestars accepted my complaint and sent my money back.
They offer far less protection and quality than trekking boots of the same price... That is all you need to know about riding shoes. Not mentioning that external laces are trash and a safety hazard for any riding footwear.

Thanks, Merry Christmas

They just look really flimsy
I’ll wait for the UberSuperFasterers …
Seriously though, wear proper boots, peeps.
I don't like zips. They fail. Merry Christmas.

External laces are fine if you tie them properly.
I’m curious, just what are Trekking shoes?
