Voldemorts main goal was to get the Philosopher’s stone because not only would he be able to fully return with his own body but he would be virtually immortal. Since Harry soloed him in the first year that option was off the table but if you remember Dumbledore says “I’m afraid there are other ways he can return”. He tried AGAIN in the Chamber of Secrets through his “memory” and trying to take over Ginny’s body. Harry soloed him once more with help from Dumbledore. THIS form definitely wasn’t his first choice and required A LOT of planning and maneuvering to pull off. The down side is that he’s not at full power right off the bat, in this form he needs to regain some of his power over time. One of the upsides is that since he used Harry’s blood in the ritual he doesn’t have to worry about Harry disintegrating him with his bare hands like he did Quirrell.
The actor who played Cedric’s father kills me with his performance. That is a man who has witnessed deep loss. That wasn’t acting, that was remembering
Interesting, always thought his performance was really good, makes sense to learn about this information
@@dac2007 I don't know that it's information; I thought he was just guessing or giving his impression of the performance.
@@dereknolin5986 i mean, he said the actor was remembering his own loss. Seems pretty straightforward to me.
@@dac2007 Well, only Keith can tell you what he meant. I thought he was just using hyperbole to make a point. I interpreted his comment as saying that Cedric's father's performance was so intense, that the actor had to be remembering some actual loss he had experienced in his own life. That's the acting technique called sense memory. I don't know that the actor Jeff Rawle himself has experienced any loss like that. I mean, that's literally an actor's job, is to pretend to be somebody they're not.
@@dereknolin5986 one thing is pretending to have had a loss and the other is remembering an actual loss lol
I interpreted it as the actor had said so in an interview or something
But anyway, one way or another we can agree it was a great performance
The way Snape adjusted his sleeves was a killer 😂😂
That moment was so subtley badass 😂🤣😂! RIP Alan Rickman
to answer one of your questions from the first movie, when mr. olivander sold harry his wand, the moment he stopped and said "i wonder if..." you also wondered what that meant. mr. olivander was curious because the wand which chose harry had a phoenix feather as its core, voldemort has a phoenix feather as well in his wand, in fact a feather from the same phoenix (dumbledore's phoenix) which is very rare to have two wands having a core from the same magical beast. that is why the priori incantatem (when the two wands connected at the graveyard) happened. in the movies this get barely touched on but in the books it is well explained.
10:48 Dumbledore asked him calmly😂😂
Voldemort, with that spell gave him back his full body. It was just in another town. He needed to get harry to that graveyard, where he could use a bone from his father to resurrect himself. The town is Little hangleton.
Thank you!!
Thanks for the videos! You make really fantastic reaction vids! I am loving the LOTR reactions!
@@stefsolari the next HP is goooood!!!!!!
For a moment, there, I thought you said Voldemort's body was in another town and the spell brought it there.
Cedric Diggory. He used a Transfiguration spell to change a rock into a dog to distract the dragon. He was partially successful; the dragon took the bait, and Cedric went for the Golden egg. Halfway through, the dragon turned its attention back to Cedric, and burned his face. Cedric retrieved the egg, however, and passed the task.
Second was Fleur Delacour, who faced a Common Welsh Green. She enchanted the dragon to sleep, but while retrieving the golden egg, the dragon snored and let out a jet of flame that set her skirt alight. She extinguished the flames, and retrieved her egg. Viktor Krum was third, facing a Chinese Fireball. He used the Conjunctivitis Curse to blind the dragon and retrieve his egg. However, he was docked points when the dragon stumbled around and smashed half of the real eggs. Harry Potter drew the fiercest of them all, the Hungarian Horntail. On the advice of Crouch Jr. (disguised as Professor Moody), he used a Summoning Charm to bring his Firebolt broomstick to him, and manoeuvred past the dragon to retrieve his egg.
After the First Task, Harry and Viktor were tied for first place, with Cedric in second, and Fleur in third. The champions were told that, the Golden egg they retrieved contained a clue on how to pass the Second Task. Without it, they had little chance of succeeding.
Ron's reasons for acting like an a** to Harry fir a short time isn't exactly brief but here goes:
1. Ron's family is frequently looked down on because, even though they're purebloods, they are somewhat poor because of having 7 kids abd Mr. Weasley's job at the Ministry. It's not exactly a sought after job and the there's Mr. Weasley's fascination with muggles.
2. Ron has always been overshadowed by his 5 older brothers and even Ginny since she's the baby and the only girl.
3. He became best friends with the most famous kid in their world and the smartest girl in their year and is overshadowed even more.
All of this leas up to Ron having a huge inferiority complex. He never really believed that Harry put his own name in the Goblet. He just briefly let all of his insecurities turn into jealousy when Harry suddenly became even more famous because his name came out of the Goblet. Luckily Ron is so loyal that it didn't last long and he went back to being his slightly clueless self.
As for his deal with Hermione: 14 year old, slightly clueless, Ron just realized one of his friends is an attractive girl. He's jealous but doesn't really understand why he's acting that way just yet.
Be prepared for more "Oh chit" moments in the future movies.
„Is that a student?“
„Technically it‘s a ferret“
💀
Beauxbatons also has boys students in the book.
Ron is the 6th brother of his family, a little left aside always having second hand things and very insecure, always in the shadow of Harry.
Fleur says to her sister "come, it's over, give me your hand." Fleur's actress, Clemence Poésy is obviously French. (the sister and other Beauxbatons girls are obviously played by English girls, you can tell by their faces.
The Pensieve is a wonderful device that enables you to store your memories outside your head to watch them. (to avoid someone reading your mind to discover a secret or rewatch one of your memories and share it with someone else fresh and in a more objective manner).
Snape is complicated, you will get your awnsers, just be patient.
The Maze scene is very different in the book, maze is smaller but overall more interesting than in the movie.
Voldemort loves to toy with his prey before killing it mostly as an example to the other Death Eaters to convince them of his power.
Moody was locked in the chest becausr Braty Jr needed the hair to remake the potion, the person you want to impersonate needs to be alive for that to work.
Cedric's death was narratively necessary and also storywise necessary. Had Harry gone alone, nobody would have believed him if he ever returned. Had Cedric gone alone, nobody would have known what happened to him...
Remember that Harry's and Voldy's wands are brothers each containing a feather from the same Phoenix (in fact Dumbledore's phoenix), they are connected and cannot work against eachother in a harmful way. Priore Incantatum is the spell to reveal a wand's last spells. The last spells Voldy casted were the murders of Harry's parents, the Muggle caretaker of Voldy's Muggle father's manor and Cedric's murder. As killing rips ths soul, there was an echo of it in Voldy's wand that got out and helped Harry.
Voldemort's current form is a regenerated one but also, you will learn more in the next few movies because the form, snakelike and so on has its importance. Sometimes Dark Magic, considered as "unnatural" (as would say a well known villain in an other well known saga) can corrupt the original form and modify it in ways that can be disturbing.
Voldemort used his deceased Muggle family's manor as a base of operation to remain secret. He plans to go more outwardly but needs to secure his general safety first, must eliminate some people that can be a threat to him before he can truly come forward in plain sight.
I hope stef saw your comment. Nice job!!!
I enjoyed the random English accent you were throwing in from time to time.
Hello✌ I'm French and I translated for you 😉 Fleur Delacour say "Come! come! go on!! give me your hand!!" to her sister in the water
Thank You!!!
@@stefsolari You're welcome!!
This dynamic might help with some questions you have, but Harry’s dad had three best friends. Sirius Black was his closest friend, followed by Remus Lupin and then Peter Pettigrew. Peter was sort of the “fourth” friend that hung around their whole lives. Their nicknames were Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs, based on the animals they could transform into. (Werewolf, Rat, Dog, Stag).
25:43 She said "Come, it's over, give me your hand"
And your "Je ne parle pas français" was good 😁
the portkey was supposed to transport the winner back to the audience but Barty Jr changed its destination to the cemetery where the Death Eaters were waiting. it was the ritual that gave Voldemort his new body.
Ralph Fiennes(pronounced Raif Fines) initially declined the role of Voldemort, believing it was a kids movie and not having any knowledge of the series. However, his sister Martha and his three young nephews(one of which plays a small role in a later movie) were huge fans of the series and thankfully convinced him to accept. And he ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT! Also, his snake-like appearance was all cgi not prosthetics(which I didn't know until very recently). Good catch on the opening logos getting darker. Each movie will have progessively darker opening logos from here on to indicate how dark each movie is.
I love all your different facial expressions. They say so much.
Your nervous laughter is delightful. I love the range of emotions you show in 38 minutes!

I agree
The movies never highlight it but Ron throughout the story has a superiority complex due to being in a family with so many older siblings being successful. Then he finally joins Hogwarts to gain a best friend….who happens to be the most famous person in the world
By the time Goblet of Fire happens, Harry being chosen was the boiling point and Rita Skeeter’s articles didn’t help as they made it worse as she would lie and make it seem like Harry was being attention hungry.
This is why Ron is so mad. He’s mad that he’s poor, mad that he gets overshadowed by his brothers, and now mad that his famous best friend is apparently joining the tournament just to get more fame. The movies don’t really set it up or execute it well for this film as it just makes it seem he’s mad for petty reasons.
Amos' reaction to Cedric's death is one of the saddest moments...his screams give chills
How fathers crying for their sons hit me in the movies:
1 Amos Diggory
2 King Theoden
3 Don Corleone
Jeff Rawle does such a great job and Cedric is helpful and innocent, so I'm sure that goes into my reaction 🎥 ⚡ 💓 👓 🍿
You probably already know that the last book was divided into two movies. But they easily could have divided all the books, starting with this one, into two movies. There are a lot of details in the book that are left out of the movie.
Or make extended versions like lord of the rings - makes me sad thinking about them missing that opportunity
I love that you said "he's going to blame himself" about Cedruc dying, because in the book, Harry broke down in Molly Weasley's arms before sleeping that night for that reason (some of the Weasley's came for the third task, since they were like family to him and they were invited)
I would assume a curse of some kind would fall upon Harry if he refused. A Magically Binding contract is a powerful thing
One of the coolest things about this franchise, particularly the novels, is that pretty much ALL the kids are well rounded. With the exception of the Slytherins, all the kids are decent. They have their spats, and there's the House rivalry. One of the best quotes is in this movie:
Ron: Hermione. You're a girl.
Hermione: Well spotted.
Oh yeah, and Cho Chang get's done dirty in the movies. I understand why, because of they way it was trimmed down to the important threads focusing on Harry, Ron and Hermione. That means changing stuff around, so Cho is used to bridge plot gaps.
The actor who played Barty Crouch Jr also shows up as the main villain in S1 of Jessica Jones. I think you'd like that series, at least season one.
He's also one of the most popular Doctor Who actors from the modern batch, and is in Broadchurch. Amazing talent.
@@scloftin8861 Excellent doctor, but overrated actor overall, imo. I do think Capaldi did a much better job as a Doctor, in spite of the horrible material he was given. Ive seen Tenant in plenty of other things and I was never impressed. Not saying he's bad, necessarily. Just not great. Doesnt deserve the hype he gets.
Aw, that's really sweet. Hermione suddenly realizes the Harry may die when he faces the dragon, so she hugs him to show that she cares.
I think cedrics father made this death to the emotionalest scene in al filmes. No other death is able to make me cry every time i see.
22:48 what's got your wand in a knot? 😂😂😂😂
🌹🌹 Great reaction, Stef!
The first books (movies) of this extraordinary saga were essentially fairy tales for children! But other books, sequels, were already stories for teenagers and the last book/film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - so this was already a story for adults! It's beautiful to see how this whole saga has evolved over time! From a simple magical fairy tale to a dark deep and dramatic story!
Nice evening! 🙂🙂
The cup was a teleporting device that brought Harry and Cedric to the graveyard where Voldemort's muggle father is buried, it just transported them to a place where they could quickly access the bone of Voldemort's Father Tom Riddle senior. Everything revolves around the Revival of Voldemort
this was the first movie harry didn't go looking for trouble it came looking for him
2:18 to answer your question, in my personal experience, i'm 29 about to turn 30, and i'm still scared of being alone, spiders, bees, flies, oceans, ships, boats, heights, holes(Trypophobia), horror movies, tall objects(Megalophobia), loud noises, hemophobia (fear of blood) it sounds silly but yea those are the things i'm still scared of and probably will always be scared of🤣oh and dogs barking.
small attention to detail as soon as one of the weasely twins says that is the best seeker in the world harry has a glum look on his face like he was offended but what about me? XD
Ahh the black lake scene where hermione has a towel one scene no towel another scene back to having a towel Again, i never noticed this scene until years later.
During Cedric's Death scene The band kept playing you can find it somewhere on youtube its meant to be sad but its quite Funny but in the movie version they cut it out
they also cut out a scene where 2 students were canoodling in a carriage XD.
i don't like the ending of this movie for one reason because of what happens in the next movie cuz it makes you go why did dumbledore say that to harry only to change his attitude towards harry.also harry's friends ghosting him.
Sorry if my comments are annoying. i love watching new people watch harry potter and give my views small details in the movies

This one has my favorite music in the series. That’s why I love this film more than others. Can’t wait for the next HP reaction.
I'm french she said :" viens, aller viens, c fini " in English com'on, come here, it's finish.
this was a fun one stef :D it begins!
And so it begins!!!
To this day, I find it funny and quite ironic, that the spell to bring back Voldemort requires an entire hand from his follower, but only a tiny bit of "the chosen ones" blood.
Hermosa Potterhead ❤ Greetings from Mexico City 🇲🇽
You’re awesome! Great personality and very enjoyable to watch!😆
Agreed
Their wands are twins. Thats probably why that weird thing happened between the wands in the graveyard 😮
For reference about the characters ages - the first book was started when Harry had just turned 11. Just think of each book making them a year older each time.
Yes, but the movies took longer than a year each to be made and released, so the actors aged more than a year with each one.
That is also true. They’re like in their early 20s by the end of the series I think
The ritual performed in the graveyard is what restored what was left of Voldemort to a new body. How that piece of Voldemort survived the failed attack on Harry all those years ago... keep watching :)
In the books, the Patil twins that Ron and Harry went with are said to be the prettiest girls in the whole school. Not saying the actors aren't, but thought it was interesting to note with all the jealousy going on between Ron and Hermoine.
so I just want to give you some knowledge: Crouch Senior was the boss of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement...But he did change his wife (who was about to die with his son sitting in Askaban (it was her last wich) they changed with ployjuice potion (the dementors can only feel there is a person ,but not who.So nobody noticed. So she died as him in Akaban (Chrouch Senior always prepared the polyjiuce potion for her to drink in Askaban) He controlled his son with the Imperius curse at home . (Chrouch Senior told the puplic his wife died right after his son died in Askaban of a broken heart.) But one day his son could free himself from the Imperius curse and put his father on the Imperius curse. I hope now you know how it came to be,and in that schoolyear until his death Crouch Senior was still unde rthis Imperius Curse of his son,but he started to fight against it like his son did ,so Chrouch Junior decided to kill his father.
woahhhh
I'd never heard this before (I've never read the books)
Is this true??

There is a cost of putting yourself in to all those Horcruzes and drinking Unicorn Blood. That why he no longer look normal. He is fully back.
Did you notice the the openings are much darker
What does it make sense to me is the fact that it does not matter how good you do in the first two contests, whoever touches the Triwizard cup at the end of the maze, is champion. So why do they call it a tournament or even have more than one activity for the Wizards to compete in. Also what happens when all the Triwizard Champions die in the first round against dragons.. what do you do then
"Me da como impresion " olv Stef hablo español :333333
One of the biggest talking points of this movie is what happened tomHarry and Ron’s hair.
I wanted to see more of David Tennant
Sameeee he was so good but had such little screentime
What did Voldy think was going to happen if he had successfully killed Harry? How long would all the people back at Hogwarts have sat and waited for someone to touch the portkey? No one would have won the tournament. Harry and Cedric would both have been dead, and Fleur and Viktor both failed. Eventually, someone would have to say it was way more than enough time, and take down the maze and find Viktor and Fleur, but Harry and Cedric would both be missing. What would they do then?
What does Voldy care? They had no way to trace it to the graveyard, and even if they could, by that time He would be long gone.
@@alextrill1746 Obviously, if he killed Harry, then he'd have killed Harry. But was he ready to publicly announce his return at that point? Eventually, someone would have found Harry and Cedric's bodies right near the grave of Tom Riddle Sr., and figured out that Voldy was back. If he didn't care about secrecy, he wouldn't have needed this whole elaborate plan.
@@PhilBagels what would stop him from destroying the bodies? Or stuffing Harry's corpse to display in Malfoy Manor?
@@alextrill1746 How does he get around the trace that the Ministry has on every underage wizard? How does he stop everyone from wondering what happened to Harry and Cedric?
@@PhilBagels Trace only tracks underage magic outside Hogwarts. Its not surveillance. Sure, there would be a search for Harry and Cedric, but without corpses and witnesses, there would be no proof he returned.
Me encanta cuando hablas en español!

I cringe at the existence of spanish speakers, regardless of their race.
I don't understand one moment. When Barty Crouch jr shows his tattoo to Dumbledore, why Dumbledore show Harry's wound to Barty?
I always assumed that Junior was speaking (and showing) to Harry, not to Dumbledore. That may not be correct, but it seems to fit.
I think Dumbledore is confirming that Voldemort is back by doing that. I mean I don't know how it works but that was my theory
@Keco L that's a pretty good way to sum it up
I dont understand Gandalf's reaction when harry's name comes out of the cup. Harry is too young to compete; he shouldnt have been able to put his name in in the first place. Even if harry had figured out a way to put his name in, it doesnt explain how two hogswarts names came out. Two competitors gives hogwarts an unfair advantage over the others. It should be obvious to everyone that something foul is at play. And isnt magic smarter than that? How is harry bound to a magical contract he never even entered into and is magically prohibited from doing so?
Yo that's Dumbledore Gandalf is another movie franchise
23:05 Not sure if I agree. If you like person A, why go to a public even with person B? Youre already committing infidelity of the heart even before youve begun dating the person. It doesnt seem particularly ethical to date others when youre already emotionally committed to someone else. And why go to a public event you know person A, the person you like, will be there? And it isnt fair to person B either, that youre wasting their time not affording them a legitimate chance. Thats just a mind game. Sure, Ron was jealous. But Hermione really wasnt any better a person in this scenario.
Ron is a loyal friend but he's a dumb cat
In the movies, yes, in the books, no
Just a heads-up, this video isn't in your HP playlist
What really makes me cry is fathers for their daughters.. Interstellar got to me personally.
Not sure how this is relevant to this reaction, but I do agree with you
My heart broke seeing you tear up😥😥😥😥😥😥
34:16 - you are very perceptive. I don't recall any other reactor getting that before the use of the Polyjuice Potion was revealed. As you said earlier, "Somebody is making it". Well spotted on that as well.
Ron being upset kinda was to be expected, he is the sixth son in a family of 7. Always getting hand me down stuff and never being the first to 'accomplish' anything with his brothers having done it all already. So here was a chance for him to do something nobody in his family had done before (if he could have put his name in like he thinks Harry did)...
This is best potter movie!
Let the carnage begin!

Very fitting
In the beginning, why is there a blur at the bottom of the movie? 1:48
Edit: “did you put your name into the goblet of fire?” dumbledore asked calmly
Cedrics death never effected me he's only in this movie and for like maybe 15 minutes of the whole movie also not Pattison Fan
I can answer your question now because you already saw the Order of the Phoenix, so I'm not spoiling anything.
Voldemort could in theory go somewhere near Hogwarts or to any other place and catch Harry there. But he would not do that.
He wanted to return in a safe, distant and secluded place. The last thing he wanted is for the world to be alerted and informed of his return.
And as you saw, for an entire year he managed to keep in hiding, operate in secrecy and divide the entire Wizarding world while preparing his war. Most people didn't want to believe that he came back, because that news was too terrifying. Least of all Fudge and he managed to sway many people until he saw Voldemort with his own eyes and was forced to accept the truth.
In the books this is even worse, Fudge openly accuses Dumbledore and Harry of lying within hours of Voldemort's return and the smearing campaign is much more nasty than in the movie.
The discord and the enmity was Voldemort's greatest weapon. While the Ministry and the larger part of the Wizarding world was busy making fun of Dumbledore, resisting the truth, pretending that everything is fine and chasing Sirius, Voldemort grew stronger, he built up most of his army.
Even so, his plan was only partly successful, because had he managed to kill Harry, even Dumbledore would have had no knowledge of his return. That was his original plan for sure.
Let’s go to a ball then 😂
HARRY DID YE PUT YE NAME IN DE GOBLET OF FI-UH?!!! ye bastard ye
Have you read the books Stef???
Voldemort needed Harry’s blood to return. Not only that, with Harry’s blood in Voldemort, Harry’s protection from his mother doesn’t affect Voldemort anymore.

I'm enjoying our reactions. But I want to point out that this movie isn't in your "Harry Potter" playlist. Perhaps you could fix that?
The next movie is called Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix
Is he like a Chicken xD ?
I've only read the books once so it's mostly the movies my brain rely's on.
In my opinion, I think Voldemort had to use the Port Key to bring Harry to him because he's not powerful enough to march against Hogwarts... yet.
I'm loving your reactions, but I can't stand the middle hour of the next film. I find it rather boring tbh (though the first 30mins and the last 30mins are great!)
Hopefully you enjoy it more than I did because 6, 7 & 8 are an incredible ending to the franchise.
Have a wonderful weekend and cannot wait for your Return of the King reaction!
What happened to Neville’s parents is truly evil and everyone involved in that sin against god himself deserved to die
No idea why Ron randomly hates him for this. Dumb.
It's not random. Think about his character and where he stands in the Weasley family dynamic.
Think about what Ron's life has been like. He's rarely owned anything that hadn't first been owned by one of his brothers. His brothers have been Quiddich studs (mostly Charlie), prefects (Charlie, Bill and Percy, I think - 2 of the 3 for sure), and Best Boys (Bill ... maybe Charlie), and/or hugely popular (all the brothers, except Percy). Any time Ron does something cool, it's not treated likeit's that big a deal, because his brothers did it, too, and they did it first.
Now Ron is getting a bit of attention, though it's reflected from his best friend, Harry. He's understanding of Harry's fame, for the most part, but when he thinks Harry has put his own name in the Goblet, Ron is thinking "Geez, Harry, don't you get enough attention already?"
You are right about one thing, though: thinking that it's random hatred is dumb. Completely so.
@@i.marchand4655 I think his unease toward harry was justified up until the point harry literally told him he didn't put his own name in the goblet. Even just Harry's reaction to being called up was a pretty big giveaway that he was shocked and confused rather than triumphant and excited.
Personally the drama feels a little manufactured between them here. For me there just wasn't a solid enough foundation for me to see why Ron was dismissing Harry's word that he didn't put his name in. Ron was being an asshole pretty much the whole movie lol.
Damn. I might have to re watch.
