I've found that if you do everything but skip the agar agar and switch miso for nutritional yeast (the amount recommended in the video) then it turns into a really nice creamy cheesy pasta sauce, similar to Alfredo. The original recipe for firmer cheese is wonderful too. I've tried both and it's fantastic and less expensive than pre-made vegan cheese.
Thanks for that tip. I love Alfredo sauce. Also, I always have nutritional yeast at home, so I would prefer to use that instead of the miso when I make the cheese. 🧀😊👍
My daughter recommended Fed Up and Pharmacy Thugs. so after watching those 2 I watched Forks over Knives and several other documentary's not only did it scar me but it made me realize that I did not want to be sick and that was what the processed food were doing to me. I was always feeling bad taking pills to help with pain and other issues. Now I am almost 1 month vegan old and I feel wonderful. I thought it would be really hard but its not , its actually easier than going on a diet.. Thank you for these great recipes..
I made this today with all almond meal instead of cashews, strained it to get rid of the pulp, and used 2 tbs nutritional yeast. Melts absolutely perfectly and even turns a golden brown. Amazing and SO much better (and cheaper) than dairy cheese!
I found making the agar agar seperately makes a lot of mess, so I now add it to the blender and then boil the whole mixture untill it thickens. This works very good :-)
Hi again, I'm back to say I just made this cheese and it's utterly fabulous. I followed your recipe exactly, except I subbed canola oil (I didn't have any grapeseed oil) and I added 1 level tablespoon of nutritional yeast flakes. WOW, my cheese tasted very similar to Kraft cheddar cheese. Your recipe made a 650gram block of cheese and I can't wait to make another batch: next time I'll add chives and garlic :) I'm so impressed with this recipe, can't wait to make and eat more :) Also, it's important to note keep the cheese uncovered in the fridge while it cools and only when cool to put it in a sealed container (this is to stop condensation forming under a lid/cling film while it cools and thus making the cheese wet and slimy). I note that you mentioned this in your soy-free cheese video but not this one. Lucky I'm addicted to watching all your videos :) Thank you so much for a really wonderful vegan cheese recipe!!
Hi. Do you know what kind of blender she uses? What kind did you use? I'm shopping around and am concentrating on the main function to do this recipe. Thanks!
maybe then do not eat anything if everything is toxic for you. Everybody can eat what he wants and is good for him, and stop telling others not to eat this and not to eat that. You are not alone in this world.!
Jasmyne Amy Fun fact: It's a myth that canola oil is toxic, and Canada is not the only country that manufactures it (although its generally called by another name in other countries). One single protein gene in canola is genetically modified and can therefore not be produced by many countries (mainly European countries) due to laws against the use of GMOs. The finished oil from Canadian manufacturers removes the genetically modified protein anyway, so the resulting product is no different from European rapeseed/rape oil and certainly no more toxic.
Yum-my!! I'd definitely like to try. Just throwing this out there: I live on a very tight budget, under the poverty line, and I use nutritional yeast. It's such a healthy, and tasty addition. I don't spend much on splurge items, so I can afford it. It's so worth it! 👍💚
CookingWithPlants Glad you could use other milks because I do not use soy and I would like to make vegan cheeses. Soy is an endocrine disruptor and I would never recommend using soy for cooking.
Pete Dako Hi Pete, any shop that sells cake tins should have them. They are just mini spring form cake tins :-) I think I bought mine at K-Mart or Target (if you are in Australia). Or try online.
This is fantastic, my first attempt at making vegan cheese and it's delicious, and to my utter surprise it does taste like cheese! I'm so happy! Thanks so much for all the recipes and the joy! :)
For all you doubting thomases out there I was doubting too, but I've just made it!!! I thought what the heck I'll give it a go and it's delicious 😋 I added 1tsp garlic powder, 2tsp smoked paprika and 3tbsp of yeast flakes, trouble is now I'm going to have to keep making it. Thanks for the recipe and tutorial please please please keep them coming I'm going to end up vegan at this rate x Carol
It melts sooooo good :) melts in your mouth when the pizza is still warm. I actually took my batch and reheated it and it melted right back to normal and added the yeast and a little more miso paste as you suggested for that sharp flavor. Oooooh yum. Thanks again.
Please try to go vegan. I have read migraines have all but stopped after a relatively short time with no meat and no dairy. Plus, we are all mothers and mom cows love their babies as well. I both know and don't understand why we do these things to these beautiful creatures. Love to you
I made this with almonds instead of cashews the other day and it turned out brilliant too!! A little bit grainier, but flavor wise remained the same. Thank you so much for this recipe. :D can't wait to try your other recipes out
Thanks for this recipe. Made it twice now. Worked perfectly both times. It's not cheese but is a great cheese alternative. Will defo be making it regularly.
I made this and halved the recipe because I'm the only one that will eat it. I added 2 tbsp of 'nooch' and just put 1 tbsp of agar agar powder in the blender and it turned out lovely. Will experiment with different flavours.
I felt like jumping up and making. Have all the ingredients except for agar. So I'm going to pick that up today and look out ... cheese making coming up. Thank you so much. Receipes like this encourage me to become a full-time vegan. Now, I'm about 60%
+Del Lobo So glad you are going to give the recipe a go :-) Vegan food really is so easy to make and tastes so delicious.... plus super healthy for you. Best of all no animals need to give their lives for our eating pleasure.
*So excited!!* I just made a batch and it's currently setting in the fridge, teasing me! The little bit i managed to taste before I left it to set was so delicious- I'll keep you updated on how it goes and whether it melts on the pizza I have planned for tonight! I'm also paleo (no soy for me!), so I used: -almond milk instead of soy milk -macadamia oil instead of grape seed oil -and some tahini with a little dijon mustard instead of miso paste Thanks for the great video, you are a lifesaver!

Perhaps your doctor was misinformed with that figure as I've been trying to find some info on it, but I've seen recommended figures of about 25g-38g of fiber per day, not 100! I don't see why eating this way would result in a need for any more fiber than anyone else, as it is just eating healthy, nourishing foods. For me, this way of eating is not a diet, but a healthy lifestyle. My family and I have never felt or looked better! I think you will find that in eating this particular way, you will actually consume much more fibre than you previously did (not 100g, but more than the average person) because you can now enjoy much more vegetables, nuts, coconut and fruit. Sophie Tapscott thanks for writing your substitutions. I found I didn't like the strong salt taste in miso. such a shame as seems to be include in a lot of recipes here. or maybe I can find a low salt one.
cheese is something I love too and am gonna have trouble giving up so thank you so much for posting this! I'm going to try this during the summer sometime.
Very helpful video for someone who is transitioning to a vegan/plant-based diet. I cut out meat & replaced drinking cow's milk with almond/rice/coconut/soya milk a long time ago.. but cheese has been the hardest. Thank you for this. Looks delicious! x
thank you so much, I'm so impressed with your channel!! no preaching, no bitching - just really well thought out recipes!! I can see that you really pay attention to detail and flavour combinations ;-) you are actually inspiring me to cook again!! if you post a moussaka recipe I would be very grateful indeed :) looking forward to your future videos. all the best xx
This is going to help my sister out (testing vegan waters for the next 90 days) --- she's crazy about cheese; this will make the transition easier. Thanks for sharing
Anja I made this cheese today and it is fabulous and so yummy! I added some red chili peppers and increased the lemon juice and Agar Agar a bit, I also added onion powder, garlic powder and nutritional yeast. I will make this again for sure, thanks for the recipe! 😊👍
i am a vegetarian and have been for over 40 years now and am thinking now to becoming a vegan as I am still eating cheese vegetarian and also cows milk so this is a recipe that I will try as it looks delicious, so thanks.
Your cheese recipes are easy and SO good. The product is far superior to what I was buying and paying way too much for. And I love that you have lots of ideas for substitutes. I don't use soy but I've worked around that easily. THANK YOU!
Remember, you can print this recipe (as well as all of my other cheese recipes) off my website at www.cookingwithplants.com :-) Also, subscribe to my channel for 2 new recipes every week!!
+CookingWithPlants Hi, I'm going vegan from having been a vegetarian for 11 years, so I'm really freaking out about cheese. This will be a great help, thanks! I have two questions: 1. Can I store this in the freezer, so I won't have to make it every week? 2. Is it also possible to make something resembling soft goat cheese? Thanks so much!
Thank you! I made this yesterday and it really worked. Next time I would add less salt because the miso is already salty but that's a question of taste. I had to learn how to make soya milk first and now I'm learning how to use the okara to make another cheese...so it is a steep learning curve! Next time will be much easier. It is definitely worth the effort. Thanks again.
@@premasru Hi! I am sure I found the recipe in You Tube originally so do hunt! "What to do with okara"...or something like that. It is important to cook it first: 20 minutes in boiling water. Then drain it again. Then add olive oil, salt and herbs according to your taste. It makes a kind of cottage cheese. This time I am experimenting with fermenting it first. That way it will have much more taste and be really good for my gut flora!! Good luck!
I finally made this. Substituted the peer for 2 tsp Nutritional flakes. Yummy! Thank you so much for all of your work. My little family needs your channel.
the texture is amazing. not as dense as other harder cheeses but the flavor is very interesting, I just took it out of the molds. I didn't use the nutritional yeast (totally forgot). I went a little light on the salt because my veggie stock powder was unsalted. I'm gonna try melting it on a pizza next :) Can't wait to try the other vegan cheese you have on your website. Oh and my blender was super weak so it came out a little less smooth.
+M Ashori I was wondering about the consistency being not so smooth. I also have a blender that isn't the best. I'm hoping soaking the nuts will help :)
Thank you. I cannot wait to make this. Thank you so much for answering and making this video. I must say, the video itself was very professional. The camera work was superb.
I usually do also, as I mentioned in the end of this video it is an optional extra ingredient as some people might not be able to get this where they live. It definitely adds an extra layer of cheesy flavor that tastes amazing :-) Also a great B12 boost!
Hi Anya, I just tried this recipe - now eagerly awaiting the cheese to set in the fridge. The sauce sure tasted good, scraping the pan. Love your presentation. You seem like a salt of the earth person and I wish you all the best. I went vegan 3 years ago and am so glad that I did. Liked and subscribed!
Don't think I've ever had non-vegan hummus. Is there a cheese-based hummus that I'm ignorant of? A "chummus" as it were? Though, reading that now, that seems like a ground up fish hummus made to lure sharks.
hey has anyone tried this? how did it taste? I want to try this, vegan cheese is so expensive wish me luck convincing my mom to buy all these ingredients though :P
+Lily Fawn I did. You definitely need to try it, follow the recipe strictly otherwise you'll not get a firm consistency, but you can change the ingredients as you like, for example i did not put the miso paste (shame!) but I added more spices. You absolutely need to cook it long enough to thicken, or you'll get just a delicious spreadable cheese. And I am not vegan, so mine is absolutely an external point of view on the final result, I'm not saying it is good because I have to, it really is.
I found that a break from their cheese, then on to NOOCH (nutritional yeast, yummy!) and finally to make cheese and I am perfectly satisfied and more. I hear some of the new ones are indistinguishable from the other kind, some are horrifically expensive. I can only get one in rural Ireland and luckily it is both quite cheap and tasty! Anybody looking try skibbereen and dunmanway!
Fantastic. So hard to find vegan cheese. As I am a non dairy person. I do not eat soy so good that I can use Almond milk. So glad I came upon your channel too. thank you.
Thanks so much for this great recipe!! Made a melting grilled cheese sandwich with it and it tastes AMAZING, and it did melt and sizzled!!! Added tomatoes to the sandwich and even my meat-eating brother says it tastes like pizza. It was very easy to make, so will be making this a lot!!!
Thanks. I will have to see if I can find that. I know they don't carry it where I normally shop, but there are a number of other such shops in this area so I will see what I can come up with. Thanks again.
Hey!! Love your channel but unfortunately I've made your recipe step by step but it didn't taste like cheese. Is there alternate way without making nutritional yeast?
I just made this recipe and now I am waiting to try my cheese. I have been making only half of the ingredients because I have had some errors with making cheese before 😊. But after licking of my spoon I have had known that it was a mistake 😅 it tasted delicious already
+kaetlin rollison I would now use vegetable broth instead of the oil. I did use grapeseed oil while losing weight but have since learnt that all oil inflames the body and damages the arteries - adding to heart disease
Made it and was amazing! Love your channel. I've changed a few things in your recipe so it's easier to make here in Japan and I'd like to do it on my channel if it's ok with you. Will link your channel and give you total credit for the recipe. Do you mind? We can't buy Vegan cheese in Sendai and your recipe is just fantastic!
Hi, as long as you credit me and say the recipe is by Cooking With Plants and link to my original recipe that is fine. Glad you like it and made it work for you in Japan :-)
Hi Anya. Absolutely! I think people here would love your recipes and I'll definitely credit you and link your original recipe. Will post Your original one on my FB as well. So glad I found your channel. Looking forward to more of your yumme recipes. LV
My pleasure! And yes, power in numbers so the more delicious Vegan dishes we get out the more people will be inclined to cut down on animal consumption. This was the first time I had ever tasted Vegan cheese in my life. I'm so impressed! My friends will love it!. Thank YOU so much:-)
Doing vegan for lent buy I may continue it afterwards, I'm not a hard core vegan but with time I'll be able to get there... I appreciate the video, when I have time I'll make it for sure! The cheese you made resembles cheddar cheese. So I'm excited!
"I was there..." a few years ago. Despite growing up on a small beef farm, I had a lot of distress with butchering but 'we had to have protein' I was taught. I learned otherwise and decided to respect my instincts on diet - but then how to substitute? One very enlightening video pointed out "it's not the meat, it's the spices". I've found this to be so true! A plain piece of boiled hamburger or chicken would be unpleasant without seasonings, and the same seasonings can play into vegan meat substitutes. I've found ways to create BBQ, meatloaf, chicken, ground hamburger in vegan form. If one recipe doesn't turn out as I want, I try another or tweak it. The oddest thing that resulted after several months of not eating meat, when I did eat a chicken sandwich to not-hurt a friend's feelings and again a year later when a restaurant mixed beef with veggies, I got a stomach ache for about 24 hours! Instead of giving anything up, I simply found ways to create it vegan. Some junk food is vegan, including a variety of cookies; helps me not support the meat and dairy industry with my dollars. Respect yourself on this, and have fun choosing what's right for you!
Such a delight to watch your videos! Love the way you are so natural and uninhibited in your enjoyment of food. I tried this recipe - it was delicious, but without nutritional yeast flakes it tasted more like a vegan version of 'spam' than cheez. Regardless, thank you for your beautiful contributions to RUclips. I will continue checking them out and sharing. One comment said 'wife material'. Yes definitely true but Anja is more than that ... she is a planetary worker! Go Anja!
oh my goodness.. you made cheese without adding nutritional yeast to the base mix.. I have to try this... thanks.. great recipe ... now after the cheese sets.. and especially after putting on the stove... it should get hard enough to shred , right?
Hi Anja, just wondering about the Miso paste. i've never tried it. Does it give the cheese a flavour of any kind or maybe a tartness? I've only ever made nut cheeses with some nooch or sun dried tomatoes in it. :-)
Deborah Woods It is kind of salty but it has an interesting depth to it which really adds to the overall taste of the "cheese". Definitely worth using and giving it a try :-)
Ok, thankyou, I will. I had to ask, I've seen you use it in a few recipes and I also noticed that it looks a lot smoother than most of the cashew/nut cheeses. :-)
I made it today! I don't like the sweet flavour of almonds so I will use more cashews instead next time, but i got a good result this time, still not firm enough, because I'm impatient and I did not let it simmer long enough in the pan. Anyway finally this time I got a sliceable product, my parents loved it! I wish i had a blender as good as yours... mine is not very powerful and does not produce a super smooth consistency, but nevertheless it tasted good. I definitely need to improve my skills on this recipe and on all of your cheese recipes. Thank you!
I'm transitioning in two days. I'm super excited yet nervous. your recipes are truly helping me. simple. and you are so adorable. enjoy learning from you. thank you. please keep sharing. thank you. thank you. thank you. ~♡~ Gianna
Is Nutritional yeast the same as Yeast flakes? I ask as I can't get nutritional yeast where I live but Coles have Yeast flakes that look the same in colour as what I'm seeing over the net!? Cheers
You're so lovely, thank you dearly for all your effort and time in making these wonderful videos. I've been a vegan for one year now but the learned to cook many many different new things. cheese has been on my list for a long time and I'm so thankful you made this video. I did not know that the agar agar powder needed hot water to activate, might be why I had difficulties with other recipes. Anyways thank you again so very much! Vegan love!!!!!
Was super easy to make! Didn't remind me of normal cheese as much as I hoped it would. But once I ate it with your spelt olive bread which I also made, I found I enjoyed it more. So it's a start! Going to give your other cheese with the sweet potato and paprika a try. Thanks!
So I tried another batch, and this time I only added a teaspoon of miso (the one I have is practically black. Does the colour indicate how strong the flavour of it is? (First time using miso paste)). I also added just a tablespoon of nutritional yeast. I made pizza, with spinach and olives and this cheese.... And oh my goodness, it was flipping amazing. Just super delicious! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
Christine Streit Awesome! Yes, the black one tastes weird to me too. Quite intense and not the smooth salty taste of white miso. Glad you found a better one :-)
Thank you SO much for this. I am beginning my vegetarian journey and if I can find good subs for those other things (milk, cheese, etc) then I hope to eventually go vegan. I will be trying this!
thanks for posting this. i love cheese but i found out last Sept. i am lactose intolerant again. i was as a infant and i thought i out grew it. last Sept. i found out the hard way i'm intolerant again. i wound up in ICU getting a blood transfusion. around here i haven't been able to find any vegan cheese and i'm not willing to eat cheese again just to satisfy my craving. so thanks for posting! /hug
I am a vegetarian and I onlh have tried two vegan cheeses, but did not like the taste, will definately try this as I am looking for more vegan choices, thank you 😊

I love your videos Anya! Thank you for making the switch to Vegan easy!
+Denise Ward You're welcome & so proud of you for making the switch x
This is going to help my sister out (testing vegan waters for the next 90 days) --- she's crazy about cheese; this will make the transition easier. Thanks for sharing
Awesome!!!
sounds healthy.. Good eating...
Finally a recipe without nutritional yeast!! Yayy
Glad you like it :-)
Without it??
Anja I made this cheese today and it is fabulous and so yummy! I added some red chili peppers and increased the lemon juice and Agar Agar a bit, I also added onion powder, garlic powder and nutritional yeast. I will make this again for sure, thanks for the recipe! 😊👍
7:48 "Queso, it's been about 25 minutes.." I see what you did there.
i am a vegetarian and have been for over 40 years now and am thinking now to becoming a vegan as I am still eating cheese vegetarian and also cows milk so this is a recipe that I will try as it looks delicious, so thanks.
joanne turner Be sure to check out all of my dairy alternatives for inspiration and motivation :-)
Thank you from Chile!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You're welcome :-)
lol man i was NOT prepared for how loud that blender was. I was relaxing, listening to your voice and then SCREEEEEEE lmao I'm awake now thank you!!
Mongo966 lol... my videos these days turn the blender down :-)
Just found your channel and I'm so grateful :) Thanks for all the amazing recipes !
Your cheese recipes are easy and SO good. The product is far superior to what I was buying and paying way too much for. And I love that you have lots of ideas for substitutes. I don't use soy but I've worked around that easily. THANK YOU!
Glad you like it as much as I do :-)
Remember, you can print this recipe (as well as all of my other cheese recipes) off my website at www.cookingwithplants.com :-) Also, subscribe to my channel for 2 new recipes every week!!
+CookingWithPlants yaaaay . No yeast! I don't care for the taste of it.
+CookingWithPlants perfect!! thank you very much :)
+CookingWithPlants Hi, I'm going vegan from having been a vegetarian for 11 years, so I'm really freaking out about cheese. This will be a great help, thanks! I have two questions:
1. Can I store this in the freezer, so I won't have to make it every week?
2. Is it also possible to make something resembling soft goat cheese?
Thanks so much!
Evelien Sinke 1. Yes it will freeze :-) 2. Here is a great range of my vegan cheese recipes: cookingwithplants.com/vegan-cheese/
Evelien Sinke Congrats by the way x
Like that this is nutritional yeast free! As I'm allergic. Looks easy!
TallythePlantEater Glad you like it :-) I keep all of my recipes easy - and super tasty!!!
wow, I have been missing out. I have just been making vegan pizza without the cheese. I can't wait to try this out.
Enjoy :-)
why am I laughing at the thought of cheeseless pizza akjdskdjdk
How did you make okara cheese? I have made tofu from scratch several times but couldn't use up the okara and had to throw it okara away.
Good luck!
Can you please make a vegan mozzarella cheese? Thank you
omg yes! i want to make a vegan pizza
Hi Anja, lovely recipe, I added some English dried mustard powder to mine and it gave a sharper taste. Thanks for this recipe. 💚
Wow you are so awesome because I have read all the comments and you reply to all of them! Other people don't! :)
I finally made this. Substituted the peer for 2 tsp Nutritional flakes. Yummy! Thank you so much for all of your work. My little family needs your channel.
+Carmen St-Denis So glad you made it and that you like the recipes x
the texture is amazing. not as dense as other harder cheeses but the flavor is very interesting, I just took it out of the molds. I didn't use the nutritional yeast (totally forgot).
I went a little light on the salt because my veggie stock powder was unsalted. I'm gonna try melting it on a pizza next :)
Can't wait to try the other vegan cheese you have on your website.
Oh and my blender was super weak so it came out a little less smooth.
M Ashori Not sure if you know this but you can soak the cashew nuts to help with the blended consistency.
+M Ashori I was wondering about the consistency being not so smooth. I also have a blender that isn't the best. I'm hoping soaking the nuts will help :)
+M Ashori Let me ask you this, veggie stock powder--is that vegetable bouillon?
+C_ Farther yes, you can use the boullion
Thank you. I cannot wait to make this. Thank you so much for answering and making this video. I must say, the video itself was very professional. The camera work was superb.
Sounds like a good recipe, ill have to give it a try. I usually add nutritional yeast when I make my vegan cheeses, it really adds a cheesy taste.
I usually do also, as I mentioned in the end of this video it is an optional extra ingredient as some people might not be able to get this where they live. It definitely adds an extra layer of cheesy flavor that tastes amazing :-) Also a great B12 boost!
What a gorgeous Vegan cheese this recipe has turned out! :-)
Welcome and thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. I really appreciate it :-)
Vegan Lemon humus makes a good substitute for cheese. Nice on Vegan Vege-burgers.
:-)
Don't think I've ever had non-vegan hummus. Is there a cheese-based hummus that I'm ignorant of? A "chummus" as it were? Though, reading that now, that seems like a ground up fish hummus made to lure sharks.
I just put mine in the fridge...can't wait!
hey has anyone tried this? how did it taste?
I want to try this, vegan cheese is so expensive
wish me luck convincing my mom to buy all these ingredients though :P
+Lily Fawn I did. You definitely need to try it, follow the recipe strictly otherwise you'll not get a firm consistency, but you can change the ingredients as you like, for example i did not put the miso paste (shame!) but I added more spices. You absolutely need to cook it long enough to thicken, or you'll get just a delicious spreadable cheese. And I am not vegan, so mine is absolutely an external point of view on the final result, I'm not saying it is good because I have to, it really is.
+PoIsOnDiVx
thank you! I'm glad it's good, I will have to try it thanks ❤
So glad I came upon your channel too. thank you.
3:49 R.I.P. Headphones
+Michael Hill lol
+Michael Hill Thats what i wanted to say
lol
uh oh... I'm scared now, you guys. I'm at 2:14 right now....
***** fantastic!
How long will the cheese keep for in the fridge? Or is it usually consumed too quick to know? haha.
Thanks. I will have to see if I can find that. I know they don't carry it where I normally shop, but there are a number of other such shops in this area so I will see what I can come up with. Thanks again.
Good luck :-)
what a cool idea, thanks for sharing!
Stefani Addison Glad you like it :-)
***** Sorry?
Stefani Addison I think Jas Tiger is anti soy and has left a few strange comments without any research and science to back things up. Just ignore.
aw, got it. He could have at least tried being funny. Or make sense at the very least. CookingWithPlants
I happy to see someone making vegan cheese that does NOT have yeast. Vegan Non dairy cheese and no mold, bacteria, or fungus. good job.
ian williams Glad you like it
ian williams sorry, but you forget that miso contains fungus!
ian williams sorry, but you forget that miso contains fungus!
ian williams sorry, but you forget that miso contains fungus!
Tomas Baptist ah didnt know that... then i would just make the vegan cheese without the miso
Hey!! Love your channel but unfortunately I've made your recipe step by step but it didn't taste like cheese. Is there alternate way without making nutritional yeast?
Your recipes are so helpful! They make vegan cooking more accessible to everyone - Thanks for that!
Thank you... that's the goal :-)
AAhh, Agar powder!!!
I swear by this stuff. Mailing the video straight to my wife.
Lady B. Lovely!! Can't wait to try it. At least you are in control of what you put in it!! No Nasties!! Thanks so much or sharing.
+Blossom Rose-StMarie Glad you like it
The only thing I'm missing is a super high power blender... goodness I need to invest in one
Any blender will do the job PaHoua Vang but we love the Vita Mix....now that's a machine!!
I use my blender first then put parts in my nutra bullet one at a time to make sure it's smooth
A hand blender (the one you dip in your mixture, I don't know how it is called) works quite well in the mean time !
That's an immersion blender.
Thanks ! Though it makes sense, I wouldn't have guessed.
I just made this recipe and now I am waiting to try my cheese.
I have been making only half of the ingredients because I have had some errors with making cheese before 😊. But after licking of my spoon I have had known that it was a mistake 😅 it tasted delicious already
Do you recommend leaving the oil out for weight loss or did you use some oil when losing weight?
+kaetlin rollison I would now use vegetable broth instead of the oil. I did use grapeseed oil while losing weight but have since learnt that all oil inflames the body and damages the arteries - adding to heart disease
Ok great, thank you! Just found your channel and been watching..everything looks delicious!
great recipe. i doubled the batch and made lots
11you11 Fantastic!!!
LV
Thank you so much :-) Glad we can spread vegan cheese across the globe :-)
My pleasure! And yes, power in numbers so the more delicious Vegan dishes we get out the more people will be inclined to cut down on animal consumption. This was the first time I had ever tasted Vegan cheese in my life. I'm so impressed! My friends will love it!. Thank YOU so much:-)
Excellent :-) xx
Doing vegan for lent buy I may continue it afterwards, I'm not a hard core vegan but with time I'll be able to get there... I appreciate the video, when I have time I'll make it for sure! The cheese you made resembles cheddar cheese. So I'm excited!
But**
adrianna salazar Glad you like the video :-)
Wow I wish I found your channel earlier :) You're awesome !!!
Thanks
Such a delight to watch your videos! Love the way you are so natural and uninhibited in your enjoyment of food. I tried this recipe - it was delicious, but without nutritional yeast flakes it tasted more like a vegan version of 'spam' than cheez. Regardless, thank you for your beautiful contributions to RUclips. I will continue checking them out and sharing.
One comment said 'wife material'. Yes definitely true but Anja is more than that ... she is a planetary worker! Go Anja!
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. Just finalising some recipes and will start posting recipe videos again VERY soon now.
oh my goodness.. you made cheese without adding nutritional yeast to the base mix.. I have to try this... thanks.. great recipe
... now after the cheese sets.. and especially after putting on the stove... it should get hard enough to shred , right?
Yes, it will shred :-)
yay!
Can't wait to make assorted batches. Great recipe and suggestions. Thanks.
Thank you!
Did it taste good or nah
+GummyBear16 it did.
use a strainer then
how can I avoid stirring for 8 minutes
I'm transitioning in two days. I'm super excited yet nervous. your recipes are truly helping me. simple. and you are so adorable. enjoy learning from you. thank you. please keep sharing. thank you. thank you. thank you. ~♡~ Gianna

Is Nutritional yeast the same as Yeast flakes? I ask as I can't get nutritional yeast where I live but Coles have Yeast flakes that look the same in colour as what I'm seeing over the net!? Cheers
Yes, same thing :-)
CookingWithPlants That was such a quick reply... thank you so much!! I'm Subbing to your channel!
AllyKatPerth yeah same thing, I have the coles brand yeast flakes/nutritional yeast and they work wonders on just about everything vegan :) cheap too!
Mrs Bungle Thanks Bungle, I hate it when I can't get what is needed for some recipes in the country! :)
lol we are better than other countries in some ways, but in others not so much lol
Can't wait to try this
Wish u were my mom
Such an easy recipe. It looks so yummy. Thank you for sharing.
+Gisa N. Glad you like it :-)
You're so lovely, thank you dearly for all your effort and time in making these wonderful videos.
Thanks for your lovely feedback Anita. More recipes coming soon :-) x
Was super easy to make! Didn't remind me of normal cheese as much as I hoped it would. But once I ate it with your spelt olive bread which I also made, I found I enjoyed it more. So it's a start! Going to give your other cheese with the sweet potato and paprika a try. Thanks!
+Tiffany Wilson Glad you gave it a go and liked it :-) x
+Tiffany Wilson The Almond cheese is my favorite :-) Check out that recipe too x
Glad I found your channel, your very thorough and quick with your recipes..Thanks, I'm going to make this..👈😊💫💛
Homemade vegan cheeses are wonderful. Your recipe looks particularly delicious.
Thanks so much!
Thank you for taking the time to share this , i will be doing this this weekend .
happydayz717 Enjoy :-)
Escape2Muszik Fantastic!!! It is easier than you think once you know what to buy at the shops and have some staple recipes x
thanks for posting this. i love cheese but i found out last Sept. i am lactose intolerant again. i was as a infant and i thought i out grew it. last Sept. i found out the hard way i'm intolerant again. i wound up in ICU getting a blood transfusion. around here i haven't been able to find any vegan cheese and i'm not willing to eat cheese again just to satisfy my craving. so thanks for posting! /hug
Glad you found my channel and like the recipe :-) x
awesome thanks for sharing dear

Thanks so much for this recipe! I can't eat kappa or coconut oil which most cheeze recipes have. Can't wait to try this one!
Enjoy!
I am a vegetarian and I onlh have tried two vegan cheeses, but did not like the taste, will definately try this as I am looking for more vegan choices, thank you 😊
