I bought Rimworld last summer and I am addicted to this game. I have almost 1800 hours in. I love watching people play for the first time! It is hilarious to see the ill-advised things that people do. I just shake my head and chuckle. Yes, I was a new player once, but I am an over-achiever and I don't start games willy nilly. I read tons of articles and watch a bunch of videos before I start, so there are just some rookie mistakes that I am incapable of making. That said, even with my high play time, I am constantly learning new things about the game and discovering interesting mods to increase my fun factor. With all these hours, I've only played with the Royalty expansion even though I have purchased more DLC than that. I like to play things for a while before each DLC or mod installation. Eventually, I will get on to Ideology and the rest, but for now, I am just trying to master the game.

@@Stryvver I feel like I cannot move on until I figure out a better way to survive the late game raids. I am still having trouble with wealth management and progress as it pertains to raid size. I feel like I am outgunned a lot of times, and I am taking too many injuries and casualties before I can leave with my ship. Mastering the tech tree and armor crafting is so important.
What we learn about this episode: If Randy grants you a legendary Monosword right from the beginning, let your best melee pawn take advantage of this gift.....😌😛
After watching so many hours of pros play Rimworld; I've got to admit I smiled and laughed more watching the others. Add in the touch of sadness to watching so many unfortunate events hit you back-to-back. I kind of miss being new to the game, so much more fun as you learn and experience it fresh.

yo whats up wizard dude! i have a quick tip for you: it may not be easily seen but the quality of medical beds (the floor sleeping spot being the worst, and the hospital bed being the best) alongside the skill of the medic, the room’s cleanliness, and type of medicine used all dictate how well the tend quality is: for example to get max tend quality you would need an extremely high quality hospital bed, a level 20 medic with glitterworld medicine, and a decently sized room with sterile tiles for flooring.

Not gonna lie, I almost refunded this game because Cassandra is presented as the basic storyteller while Randy is this crazy wildcard, when in reality that is just a meme. Randy is just chill like that, presenting the planet like it actually is.
I've only gotten a gameover in Rimworld once. It was with Cassandra on a medium difficulty (adventure story) due to an extremely unfortunate chain of events.
I love rimworld. I can spend an unhealthy amount of time on it. I recommend some mods that wont be too op and the bio dlc that gives you children and robots but for the mods vanilla events expanded is fun and run and gun
@@vanLT heck yeah! I have a couple installed at this point, but they're pretty basic....a camera mod as well as a pawn customizer..... but I'd like to add some crazy stuff in the future!
@@TheGamingSquire dude....fire was a big problem for me during a number of my runs....lol pro tip: paved tiles.... NOT wood floors and walls.... and also....granite is the strongest wall material outside of plasteel if I'm not mistaken!
That was basically my story as well! If I remember correctly, I bought the game with the biotech dlc as a bundle! I now have Ideology and Royalty as well, but I haven't really gotten into them...but I'm excited to!
haha! I really have! and yes I'm now playing with some simple mods like camera+ and stuff! but I'll probably get deeper into the weeds at some point...haha
Welcome to the mind f*ck of the greatest game ever made , the amount of community mods is crazy ! first hit is free then it takes your soul. every playthrough you figure out new tricks and methods
" i laid out my mountain base" .. oh dear the tutorial never tells you about infestations ... i know how this will end ... :) ... ok never made it that far ... i have benn playing this for 7 years now 3000+ hours .... all but one colony has ended in disaster ... i did finally male it to space this year ... to keep the surprise do not look up infestations :)
Haha! I do hate infestations….lol I’ve now VERY MUCH experienced infestations….and they indeed aren’t great…lol I don’t have NEAR your 3000 hours though!!! You got me on that!
Rimworld tricks you into addiction by presenting totally helpless pawns, who are outright stupid and break down at any minute. You decide to help them find their way, and suddenly you spent hundreds of hours of learning the mechanics and still clicking your arm wound to tell them to REALLY haul that corn if the are hungry and NOT walk into the fire in a room to extinguish it, because they will burn and NOT to shoot at the tamed bear if he tanks for you, and to REALLY keep their rooms and the kitchen tidy, even though they prefer to tame animals at the other end of the map, even though you put priorities for taming to 4 and priority for cleaning to 1. They are helpless toddlers. Don t get fooled by this game, it is crap, never play it, don t start it, it is a huge timesink. Just because the pawns are so dumb does not make you smart.
God I do pray your moral encompass does not leave your body the moment you find out how much silver you can get by organ harvesting or human trafficking
I do indeed play with some mods now! They're nothing crazy...just like character editor, harmony (for the editor), and camera+...but even those are aweseome!
