Where to go fabric shopping in Seoul, South Korea. 한국에서 원단쇼핑했어요

- I visited my family last month and did some fabric shopping in south korea.
So I would like to share some good shopping places for my sewing friends.
It is a shame we can’t travel as easy as before since covid but when things are easier , I highly recommend visiting south korea and stopping by these cool places for your next sewing project.
[Dongdaemun market]
on line 1 & 4. Dongdaemun station. Exit 9.
[Gwangjang market]
on line 5. Jongro 5ga. Exit 11.
지난달 한국방문하면서 제가좋아하는 동대문 종합 시장과 광장시장을 다녀왔습니다.
동대문은 소매를 상대로 해서 저같은 일반 사람들이 원단사기는 좀 어려운 곳이죠.
그래도 원단 트렌드도 보고 공부도 하고 갈때 마다 늘 즐거운 곳이예요.
광장시장은 난단 원단이 파는 곳인데, 가격도 저렴하고 정말 좋은 퀄리티 원단이 많아서
갈때 마다 깜짝 놀라는 보물섬 같은 곳입니다. 여러분은 어디서 원단 쇼핑 하세요?

hello, are there other areas similar to dongdaemun shopping complex that also sell fabric/textiles? maybe in other city like busan? or outside dongdaemun?

Gwangjang market has one as well in seoul. In busan , you will see fabrics in Jin market! 😊

Hi, can you share more about the average price of these fabric and materials? do you need to haggle when buying? i really want to go but i can't speak korean, i wonder if it could be challenging..
also, are the fabrics and materials made in korea? because i only want to buy products that got made in korea, not made in china because of the quality.. i'm sorry if i ask too much. my korea trip is next month so i really want to know more info. thank you!'

@@RenaSewsolo i went but everything was so overwhelmed🤣 but honestly i didnt know if the fabrics & materials were made in korea or not. could you share some insights? i might come back next year to visit my friend, so i did want to give it another try.

@@knotaribbon some are made in korea , other might be from other countries. I don’t really shop dongdaemoon fabric market since it is too much for me 😭
For suit fabric. Same place? All of these tailors, is this where they get the fabric?
Hi, yes I buy most of my fabric from both markets , dongdaemoon & gwang jang. You can find suit fabric from both markets as well.
@@RenaSewsolo Thank you! I have only visited Dondaemon. Plan to visit again, but looking for suit fabric. Hopefully I can find.
@@jameslowery6620 dongdaemoon- I think it should be on 3rd floor or 1st floor. I am not sure which building though. Gwangjang market- I remember there are a lot here too. For example 영신라사(young sin la sa) - store no is 중상1호(jungsang 1ho). 🤩
