  • There was a 'toy car' shaped hole left by the Clio 182 that needed filling. I very nearly bought myself an Elise, but I did what all car-guys do and kept upselling myself until I landed on something a little more special, an Exige.

    Excellent presentation of your new car. Congratulations! I just picked up my dream car, a black 2003 S2 111S Elise and have no plans to part with it at all. These things are relics of times gone by and those of us who consider ourselves driving enthusiasts are facing a world which simply doesn't understand us. Everything we love about driving has been removed from cars being produced today, replaced with electronic this and that or complex mechanical gizmos like paddle shifters. I got the 111s as I felt it was the epitome of what the original Elise concept was about, lightest possible NA engine and overall weight with the S2 looks.
    I was surprised to hear you say the radio was actually quite good as I planned to completely delete the stereo system in my Elise. It's fighting a losing battle with the Larini exhaust which I'd much rather enjoy :) Perhaps there is better sound insulation in that Exige because of the touring package?

    • @BritishRacingGreens
      @BritishRacingGreens  2 года назад

      Thanks! Congratulations to you too, that sounds like a great car you've picked up. Like you say, the epitome of the concept but with S2 looks. I read a lot about the stereo being really poor, but I've been impressed, particularly on long motorway journeys, it drowns out the exhaust drone at least.

      @@BritishRacingGreens 1985 308 GTB, love my little 308, easy to work on and fairly reliable and a 2000 360 Modena (F1tranny). Both cars are different from each other, the 360 is a lot more reliable and a lot more powerful, obviously 🙄. Both require the dreaded and expensive belt service 😖, but I’ve managed to get to the point I go up to 5 years for said service. It’s like the old saying goes, if you take care of your car, your car will take care of you. I imagine you will have no major issues with your lotus, being a Toyota engine which I must say those engines could be built to last for a long time, plus I think Lotus really did their homework with the suspension and body and everything else. Looking forward to seeing more videos, take care and enjoy your beauty.
