A massive effort by Pulse Performance Race Engineering through December and January has brought Mad Mike Whiddett’s RADBUL Mazda MX-5 project to within days of completion.
Following on from the build of the roadster’s custom four-rotor, twin turbo 26B rotary engine, PPRE’s engineers worked day and night to finalise the chassis, driveline, suspension, brake and steering modifications, before dropping the motor into the bay and readying it for its very first fire-up. That honour, of course, was left to Mad Mike himself.

rotors are awesome, but i was curious about the suzuki jimmy in the background, in the beginning, did they put a rotary in that? Now that would be a fun jimmy ro drive with say a 2 rotor single turbo charged!
I can't beleve after 15 years being a qualified mechanic that i wasted so much time running in a new engine when i could of just ragged the crap out of it!

It's the exhaust.
Its the wastegate pipe for the turbos. They mentioned it in the previous build vid.

Nice car and really nice motor and fab work but I noticed you put the seat on the wrong side. Thats a pretty big mistake.
Over here in New Zealand we drive on the left and the driver seat is on the right of the car

Kinda disappointed in the sound, just sounds like a 13B. Guessing because the exhaust is divided into pairs into twin turbos, don't get the 4 exhaust impulses together. Still love it though!
that's not the exhaust,, that's the wastegate,, the eshaust is located underneath the car,,
I didn't say they were or weren't the exhausts. Doesn't matter any way you can still hear the sound quite clearly. It does have divided twins obviously. Basically 2 rotors feed one turbo each.

A stock MX5 makes about 800 horsepower so just over 1000hp is not much more than stock. They should have left the 4 cylinder in it and turbo charged that.
