One line in the song says, "Some friends just lose each other." Abi lost one of her friends. I saw an interview the day after she won American Idol and she said one of her friends abandoned her as she became very popular and famous. This song is about the loss of that friend I think. I didn't know that one of her friends abandoned Abi as she became popular and famous. Friends shouldn't do that. But maybe this friend couldn't handle the fame and popularity and felt they were losing Abi as a result.
I agree with your comment about songs fading out at the end instead of being more finished. I've thought that was possibly driven by radio play fading out and then into the next song in the playlist. This song was certainly produced with airplay in mind, considering the short length as well. But I suppose in some cases it could also be just lazy writing. I like Abi a lot and wish her great success as she launches her post-idol career. But if I'm honest the song just seems OK.
