I just love your reviews of Cormac's videos. His gentle tone with perfect diction. and the emotion he conveys so beautifully with every song he chooses keep me coming back and listening over and over even though I know I will end up weeping. Your explanations of how it all works; voice, muscles, breathing etc. are so interesting and tell me how much skill Cormac has at such a young age - amazing! Thank you !

❤😢I cry almost every time when I listen to this song. My mom is now 90 and I know will have to let her go one day in the future when the time come for her.

Cormac's earliest RUclips videos, which caused him to be "discovered", were videos he had done for his grandmother back during the "lockdown" of 2020. I think I saw that she has since passed which would lead to the emotional connection of this song.
Cormac was signed to the Decca label who released his first album "Hear My Voice" internationally. But I think it was only a single album deal. They didn't "option" to distribute his 2nd album "A Borrowed Gift".
But it is much easier for independent artists in today's economy being able to release direct to Apple iTune Music, etc and with donation support. (You might look at another young artist, "Ky Baldwin" who has followed this method for his career since a very young age - his video "Dear Mom" is a very emotional song).

Hi, Cormac’s first album with Decca was actually called ‘Hear My Voice’ his second, the independent release was ‘A Borrowed Gift’ and whilst you are not wrong when you state that releasing music as an independent artist is easier now because of digital streaming platforms, releasing music and getting your music heard to ever make it financially viable to earn a sustained living from it, are two very different things 😅 and I know it’s now in the public domain but you really need to look for it, so I also wondered if you would consider editing your comment, so my mums name is not listed on RUclips, she’s very much alive still thankfully, you can hear more about the reasons for the recording in one of the behind the scenes videos Cormac posted recently, he explained that it was a relief to him that he could not yet personally relate to the song - hope all that helps clarify a few things - Cormac’s mum 🎶

I had never heard the original version of this song when I first heard Cormac sing it. As the mother of 4 adult children I was so emotional during the entire video. Absolutely wonderful in every way.

Thank you so much for this excellent analysis. It is very much appreciated.
I was part of the team making the music video (Fellowship Film) as well as a long standing supporter and mentor to Cormac.
It’s so great that you identify the ‘heart’ that Cormac puts into all his songs as well the technique and the production.
Thank you once again. Massive fan of what you do!

It was Cormac's enunciation of his words that first drew me to his songs. I normally cannot hear the lyrics of songs that I listen to. Usually the singer’s voice is just another instrument that blends with the all the others of a song. Thank you for explaining the techniques that Cormac is using so I can clearly hear every word he is singing.

I've subscribed to your channel after a video reaction to Cormac. I'm a big fan of that boy, because he's a great artist and also a great heart.
It's very nice to see him around here again.
And thanks for your channel. You do a really good job.

hello Johan, I am a huge supporter of Cormac Thompson, I love the way you analyze Cormac's voice, technique and personality. He is a magnificent soul and works hard on his passion. I am so happy that his voice crosses different continents and oceans. The next song comes out on October 25 and it has a magnificent story and it is a tribute to his dad that Cormac gives, playing the role of his dad in the 80s. This promises great moments of emotion when it is released. . I know he's always nervous when his songs come out. He is in fact still an independent singer and nominated for Josie's music Howard in Nashville again this year. Thank you for what you do for him. God bless you Mr Johan 🙏🏼🥰🥰🥰😊😊😊

You're quite right. Cormac's not currently signed to a label. His first album, Hear My Voice (December 2020), was with Decca, after he was discovered singing to his nan on Facebook during lockdown, but that was a one-album deal and he has been independent ever since. So almost all that he has achieved has been without any commercial backing.

Sometimes doing it independently is the best way to go, even though you have to generate all the finances yourself 🤷🏻‍♂️

Singers are just story teller's, aren't they? I've followed Cormac for about 4 years now and he is absolutely amazing at telling these stories! His child voice was great and I love the sound of his changed voice.

Cormac has handled the transition from treble to second tenor more seamlessly than anyone else of his singing stature. Even Aled Jones took longer to do so. I know you react to AGT a great deal. Is there a reason you don't do so for such higher quality platforms such as The Voice? I'm particularly impressed by the French and German versions of Voice Kids. Btw, you have a very gentle RSA accent. Most of the boys who were classmates of mine at Bishop's in Cape Town in the '60s had broad accents. Yours in more akin to the Anglo accent of E Africa, like mine. Love your channel. ❤🇬🇧🇰🇪

I discovered Cormac via your reactions, he's incredibly talented.
Are you familiar with the Marsh Family on youtube? I'd love to see you reacting to them - they became famous during covid doing a lockdown themed spoof of a Les Mis song, and they've kept up the singing ever since - they're incredibly talented and it's fantastic watching through several years of videos and seeing them keep getting better and better
