- How come we don't have advanced cameras yet? Futuristic specs, tiny full frame mirrorless with way better than smartphone technology? What is holding the camera industry back? It's because camera companies think content creators are noobs. They are dumbing down the releases for youtubers because they think we want everything simplified and automatic. They removed the specs of their top end cameras, and give us vlogging cameras completely stripped down, cheap and basic.

I'll tell you what's hilarious to me is I watch all of your videos in 144p because I live in the middle of nowhere and have the world's slowest internet, so i can tell no differences in anything you show... all looks the same. FYI you'd see the best effect of a polarizing filter when shooting at a 45-90° angle from the sun. If the sun's directly behind or in front of you, the effect is minimal.

I’m a photographer, my kids eat REAL Goldfish.
I think "normal color" on the Pocket 3 does a bit of HDR processing to get the dynamic range for faces vs highlights. I'm seeing it on this video as well as mine, specifically on skin tones. When your video started, I was like WOW, stacking the ND and Black Mist and using D-Log M rivals the look of an APS-C mirrorless cam like your Nikon Z30 plus better stab. Then when you switched to Normal, immediately it was too sharp and contrasty, even with the Black Mist. That's even with sharpness and NR all the way down. I swear it's adding a subtle amount of HDR in normal colors.

The ND & Pro Mist makes the image dark IMHO. I usually just lower the EV comp to -.3 or -.7 instead. ND is ok, but it's rough if there are any shadows. What settings do you like for indoor use?
I find myself pining after an Ikonoskop A Cam DII these days. It's like a blackmagic OG but with global shutter. The videos on vimeo from 10 years ago look stunning, but the website hadn't caught up bitrate-wise.
as a current ZV1 og owner, it's actually a great for pics and snapshots lol. wanted to use the ZV1 as a videocam for travels/walks, but the jitters are bad even with active stabe on. ended up using the IP13Pro again for videos lmao.

On the flip I kind of agree with OM. I'd like 4k 120 in their next camera at least for slow mo, but I think what they're saying is kind of what you say at the end of your vid: You don't need extra video specs in today's world, so rather than trying to cram more FPS and higher K's into their bodies, they want to come up with video features that make it more fun and accessible. It kind of goes along with what Olympus did anyway in providing features more than hard specs. I would like to see open gate and true vertical tho.

These comments reminds me of a boss I had. I good guy, but thought that I had the same amount of computer knowledge based upon his own knowledge, that is he knew where the power switch was located. Whereas: I had build computers, and use Linux, back then preferred using command line functions instead of click and drag. Then a day came were someone accidentally erases the operating system on a workstation. I had it back in 30 seconds. Most of the time was spent restoring everything back to normal was backing him out of the way. So I tend to think, when I hear such limiting statements that it is his own world that he is espousing. It may be time for this camera company find a new president.

IMO something always appears not-quite-right with the 'look' of your vids. What codec are you using & what mode - intra/inter H.264/H.265, & bitrate, and what lens? Maybe you're using preset LUTs, I don't know, but many other vids on RUclips seem to have a clarity with better white balance, less pixelation, and warm/ish albeit accurate colors.

How are camera companies going to create opportunities for people to engage with video? "..you're not gonna do that on a Goldfish diet..." LOL! For me, I am just to tired to get into video editing and color grading stuff. I want to shoot in something nice looking like Eterna on Fuji and have an easy to use timeline to insert the clips. Maybe do some transitions and add some photographs here and there. But, I can see that people like you who are creative need to have more tools at your disposal. Somehow there needs to be a happy medium for who controls the engineers; the marketing/sales folks and the creative folks must have equal access to the engineers. Good rant! BTW, on your video the other day you mentioned that it would be great if Fuji came out with a 500 or 600 prime and around T5.6. The next day Fuji Rumors announces an XF500mm T5.6. Are you clairvoyant? Have a rockin' day!
