There are so many great video versions of this song! I love everyone of them!!!!!
I was just a kid when this song came out and it's always been a favorite. There's nothing really redeeming about it other than it's just a fun little pop ditty. I'm pretty sure this actually came out in 1972 because that's the year I really started listening to the radio and there were just so many great songs that came out that year. Brandy, Long Cool Woman, Go All The Way, Garden Party, Goodbye to Love, Backstabbers, etc., etc. Mouth and MacNeal were Dutch. Maggie MacNeal had a great voice. Mouth (Willem Duyn) had a voice that was more gruff, but I think it worked well with Maggie's. My brother actually bought the 45 RPM single of How Do You Do? and the flip side was a song called "Land of Milk and Honey" which was the only other song I had ever heard from them for many years. In the late 70s or early 80s, The Treasury store in Dallas had a $1 LP sale, so I bought the "How Do You Do?" album. It's actually a really good album. It has Maggie's solo single version of "Heard It Through The Grapevine" (the first version I remember hearing of that song, Mouth's version of "Walking In The Sand", the same song that Aerosmith later had a hit with. Other songs like "Hey, You Love" and "Tell Me World" are also favorites of mine. The album shows just how well pop can actually be done when you have talent.
I remember this from Junior high days lol. I thought it was kind of silly the way they sang it, with overkill on the vocals

I remember this song was playing one summer day I was in my best friends moms' car, it smelled like peanut butter. We were heading to the beach to meet up with my mom and sisters. It was real warm out and the seat was hot. There was four of us in the back and I got my first kiss on the drive. This song was playing and for some 30+ years the first part of the choirs, just the melody no words was stuck in my head. Every so often it would pop in sometimes staying for weeks driving me nuts because I did not know who sang it or the name and I had so little of the tune that I could not remember the name. Then one day I was telling my daughter about it, she had me hum it to her as best as I could. Thought nothing of it but then for my birthday a few months later she had found it and gave me a copy of it on CD along with a BD card signed by every one that was in the car that day, some of whom I had not seen for many years. She told me she spent many hrs listening to songs from then to get the right one. Yes, it's not the best song but that beet, it can stick like glue and thanks to my daughter I now have it and Love it all the more.
I totally remember this. I was 11 years old! 🎵🎼🎶
Then 3 years later, they entered the Eurovision Song Contest with 'I See A Star' and finished 3rd. ABBA won that year 😊

This was a Dutch duo who had a couple of hits back in the early 70's . Mouth was Willem Duyn( died in 2004) and McNeal was Maggie McNeal, real name Sjoukje Smit. They both became well known due to the Eurovision Song-contest. In the 80's they both had a few hits but in Dutch language.

Wow, what a coincidence!!! I came here to suggest a couple of songs for you to consider. Both are from the mid 70's, and done by Dutch groups singing in English. You may well have already done one or both of them. (1st) Mississippi by Pussycat. The singers are three sisters. My favourite video is the one that indicates 94M views, but there are others with over 1M. It's addictive. (2nd) Paloma Blanca by the George Baker Selection, The video I watch has 25M views and I've never really gone looking for others with a higher number. On the RUclips page following this video are numerous others with more than 1M views. Again, addictive.

This was catchy as hell in 1971. I was 12 and had a hard time finding it but eventually got it on a 45. Fun song.

RIP Willem Duyn, aka "Mouth". This hit #8 in the US and stayed in the top 100 for 19 weeks. Silly, catchy pop fluff. BTW, they were friends and workmates, but not a real couple.

The video is mostly clips of her performances and public appearances, but as an accompaniment to the song it serves to show what a beautiful person she was, inside and out and why everybody that knew her, loved her. Please do this one! 🥺🙏

In 1971 I was listening to Jimi Hendrix and The Mahavishnu Orchestra. I thought this song was inane garbage. Now it just seems quaint and maybe a bit nostalgic.

That woman is soooo skinny lol. You can put the syllables in any song "nanananana" [baby talk really] and get a hit out of it. it's my generation's fault hahahha...the song is ridiculous but fun at a party I guess. every generation has some ridiculous songs....
