- Mrletitbleed tribute to make this wonderful job!
It was first played as early as 1970, when Mick Taylor first joined the group and was recording with Jagger in London. Recording on "Waiting on a Friend" began in late 1972 through early 1973 in Kingston, Jamaica, during the Goats Head Soup sessions when the band still had Taylor as a member. His guitar piece made it to the overdubbing sessions in April of 1981 when the song was selected by Tattoo You producer Chris Kimsey as one the band could re-work for the album Видеоклипы
My dear departed Dad's favorite stones song and he loved the video.
John C sorry for your loss, same here, me & my sister's favorite song & video, miss her so much. Never heard this demo cut tho' she would've went crazy lol! This is awesome
You hear these demos and realize what an incredible musician Mick is - what he turned that stuff into on Tattoo You is nothing short of extraordinary.
And he does that so often, crazy musician.
MICK TAYLOR was one of the best things about the Stones.. thank you for recognizing this. but not one pic of him? this is his riff
Yes
I Absolutely love this waiting on a friend rehearsal, the amazing laid-back Country, Soulful, guitar riffs & chords arrangements, I love it don't get no better than that, simply beautiful & heartfelt, it gets your attention and doesn't let go! I can listen to this melody all day.in 2019 cuz it's still that fresh today!😀👍👍👏👏👏👏✌
LOVE this demo.... love the final cut.
Takes me back instantly to the winter I graduated, 1981. I'm sharing a chair lift, on a starry night, at Pine Knob, with snowflakes melting on my face. The speakers are blaring this song. Bota's keeping us warm... and later-drying all of our hair on the way home - with the heater hose that was duct taped to the front windshield of my 72 VW Beetle. Blessed, to be sure.

magic that , suzanne.....never forget!
nutsbee ohno(Japanease singer song writer): Can't you hear Mick's tears and spirits. This melody is the greatest of Mick's mentality. So, I also drop my tear along with this melody. Life is full of tears and smiles. I know everyone to be encouradged with smile from the cordial mind. MIck Jagger (and also I ) has found the preasure of the life.
Tattoo you just may have been The Stones best album! Really fantastic album, really good songs!
My favorite band of all timrsq
The one the only worlds greatest rock-n-roll band ladies and gentlemen The Rolling Stones!

Really cool to hear the songwriting process---Can almost hear the song evolve as Mick seems to find a lyric he likes and repeat it.

It seems that a great deal of "Tattoo You" material, was created long before the actual 1981 album.
It’s all from the vault. Polishing up done during mixing.
Of course. They have so many in the can! Am nearly 65 myself! A stone from.
Dartford uk
Mark Davies 😃
Right on the money with that assessment, they pieced together all the good stuff they had that wasn't finished.
....no shit sherlock.....not a secret....
sensationell:)
ok
Paling aku suka
sounds like Nicky Hopkins rolling the piano keys too...
His part was retained in the final 1981 version.
Stones good old time with Nicky and Taylor.

nice to see you ,,,, helena
I just love this 1972 version obviously it never made it in the exile album
Эта композиция не оставит меня никогда волшебство
Was recorded a year after Exile sessions.
I love that hello from Russia!
I hear rhythm section similarities to “Sophia Loren” (Pass the Wine) from the same era.
could somebody tell me what video shoot the frame from :38 is from?? I had that poster on my wall and I want to buy it again for my older brothers whom I inherited it from back in 1981. I believe it's from the Some Girls era.
Respectable" official video.
@devinmillermedia I'm pretty sure it was the Respectable video...as Mick is playing a guitar
It's indeed 1972, but no Mick Taylor on this version.
Mick sued the stones and this was one of the songs he sued for because he played on it.
Never happened, and there's only one guitar on it - Keith's.
+Bård Andersson No Keith is not on this track. It is all Mick T.
+Dogstar1959 Thanks!
Source, Dogstar, source :)
Mick's vocals were not recorded in the early seventies, i wouldn't think. He didn't use much falsetto before the turn of the eighties.
Sympathy for the devil ... Doo doo doo doo doo heartbreaker .. Miss you... The end of Last Time... If You Really Want To Be My Friend. ...
JAU
1970? are you kidding. great times . stones.. weed... beer was flowing easy.. very young and naive but somewhat the hipster. yeah. good stuff. among many others of course.
keith don´t open the eyes.....
#ugottalisten2b4udie
I thought, it was 60ies song! ?
1972? Not quite.
woodledog yes it is... the vocals and Sonny Rollins sax were added in 1981 and released on Tattoo You but the backing track is from the Goats Head Soup sessions
Yo tampoco lo creo. Para mí no es de 1972 el tema. Lo hubieran incluído antes en algún disco
nicky hopkins...and eventually Sonny Rollins make this song
thes guys could have been great balladeers if they hadn't been great rockers.
No way that’s 1972
Maybe 1977, no way 1970
Stephen Cellucci wrong ... this track is from Jamaica in 1972 when Goats Head Soup was made
