Rolling resistance is critically important for me using 18" wheel electric mountain bike tyres, used 99% on road surfaces; the difference between fully inflated, at the top of the range, and less inflated at the bottom, is substantially noticeable; i.e. harder work at lower inflation. Therefore it's critical that I have tyres fitted for the least rolling resistance possible. The first thing I did was get rid of the original 'mountain bike' tyres, and fit: 18" x 1.75 CST “TRACER CITY CLASSIC's" which were a massive improvement and actually make the difference between being able to use the bike without power except for steep hills and/or when the wind is against you, or not being able to use the bike at all in practice for local commuting and journeys to e.g. the shops... Hey Richard, thanks for your comment and sharing your thoughts with us and other viewers. Glad to hear that changing the tyres made a massive difference to your riding. A lot of people struggles just like you did, because they use wrong type of tyres for the type of the terrain they cycle on.
