I was on that concert,it was just awsome :) The opera choir gave the music such an edge. But you must also check out the song Phoenix from the same concert with Sivert Høyem on voclas :)
I saw them live for the first time in 2002 as a youngster very fresh to metal. Black metal was something I was quickly drawn too as I discovered metal. As a music genre it can be very diverse in it sounds (raw, aggressive, rocky and groovy, dark, melancholic, raging fast or droning slow, technical or primitive), arguably inherently so from the beginning when all bands tried to be unique with their own sound and style. Mayhem, Darkthrone and Burzum being the main trio that have inspired countless bands, who in turn have inspired new bands and sub genres. Unlike most other metal music, its focus on raw and dark atmosphere can invoke strong emotions and is in some ways in its structure more related to classical music and electronic music like techno and trance. It's introverted music and not everyone's cup of pitch black coffee. I recommend checking out Ofdrykkja - wither, an easy listening, much less aggressive song with focus on melancholic atmosphere. More of a post-black metal sound.
The musicianship here is top-notch and the music itself is chaotic enough so that you feel like you're heading into a storm, which is intriguing. I liked the musical parts very much. I'm another who has trouble with the growls. I have gotten to the point where, if there are clean vocals involved also, I can tolerate them, but I have real trouble when a singer uses only growls.
The thing with black metal (this band´s genre) is that they have to sound dark and violent, so the vocals have to match the agressive instrumentation. If you feel uncomfortable with their growling vocals, that´s practically a compliment for them because they´re doing their job.
Hello Gorgeous, congrats on 23K! 👏🥰😍😘👏 And... could it be that this was your first reaction in Full HD? Finally a HiDefRedhead 😜. Great. Seems the new computer pays off... As for this reaction, I really appreciate you stepping so wide outside off your comfort zone. I am totally with you, musically this is very skillful. The vocals are not my cup of tea either, but if I, in my own mind, make the desicion that this is not some sort of "singing", but more of a spoken words performance, then I can appreciate it more. Just thinking of a poem set to music might help... With love from Germany, Prog O'Holic
As always i got the same Viking Raid Vibe I have to admit that was a good request. Red TY got stepping out of the box ❤❤❤#reaction #OPERA #METAL #heavymetal #satyricon #redeheadedneighbor #live #musicfusion #redheadedneighbor #bestreactor #redsarmy #beautifulcountrygirl
This is my favourite from Satyricon. Generaly i love Satyricon and even that band has changed quite alot around the years, i still like the newer stuff too.
I love that you try to listen to new and different kinds of music. Angelina Jordan has opened the door to Jazz for me. Seeing the drummer, Frost, standing beside this beautiful blond woman from the choir (11:40) really emphasis your statement regarding the two genres of music coming together. Frost, as you say, is an excellent drummer.
If you appreciate drummers you should take a look at Nils "Dominator" Fjellström. That guy is insane... His nickname kind of says it all 😊 Great reaction video, always fun to see people can still appreciate stuff that isn't their cup of tea
Another good contrast of music is their song "Phoenix" with clean vocals and black metal instrumental. Performed in that same concert. They have a guest as vocalist and is a really good singer (his name is Sivert Høyem from the band Madrugada) If you are insterested in react to it here it is ruclips.net/video/Ws2MCnKtRX8/видео.html. Nice reaction btw, very honest, i like it.
WOE!! A fan of RUSH and Bugs Bunny!! Transylvania 6-5000 one of my favorites and The Sheriff Of Nottingham and of course The Barber Of Seville!! Ya this is a lot of work for something I wouldn't watch twice. It was more a Athletic Event!! You are a great neighbor for watching. I never liked ANY of the Growl vocals until JINJER!! Her tone is awesome and you can understand. Don't know if you seen her: WHO IS GOING TO BE THE ONE is freaking awesome and the official video TEACHER TEACHER 💗💕 I'm a SUB as of today!! Great Job! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
you should give Tryptikon - Aurorae a listen, no joke a song that would sooth your ears while being sinister and dark at the same time or Celtic Frost - A Dying God Coming Into Human Flesh an absolute atmospheric masterpiece
It would seem like you got a few, nice comments. One suggested Phoenix. Same concerts, same musicians, but a different vocalist. Høyem. He has an insanely good voice, moore Nick Cave maby, and not a single growl. That is a very good suggestion to consider.
I can't be doing with those type of vocals either. I liked the music and the opera stuff went well with it, their addition kind of reminded me of The Omen soundtrack. lol. The vocals though... it's that type of vocals that has stopped me from really getting into Epica. I love their music, Simone Simons sings like an angel but the guys vocals I struggle to get past it just being unnecessary and being annoying.
RED- I'm the subscriber that "patiently harrased" 😂 (still love that) you to do "Hypa Hypa"! Still is my favorite reaction of yours! Watch it all the time! Almost 20K VIEWS on that now! Just know you just made the guy who requested this day and thats awesome! I liked it! (REACT TO "DU HAST" by Rammstein LIVE FROM PARIS! That will blow you away!) So awesome you reacted to this though! He's been asking for it for a while! ..........Now that that is out of the way when are we going to get "We Got The Moves" by Electric Callboy! 😉😁❤👩🦰
Not all music is meant to sound 'nice' or 'beautiful' or 'pleasant'. This music does what it set out to do, and does it well.
That is a good point

Try Satyricon feat. Sivert Høyem "Phoenix" (same concert)
You will love it 😊
LOVED IT! 🤘🤘🤘❤❤❤

I do miss these god old times, when you still liked my music taste, for a few moore minutes.

You decided to do that guys vid! 😂 Good on you RED! ❤👩🦰
Rarely watching black metal reviews but heres you give such a good one mam 👍
Thank you babe. The drummer had the most beautiful name in the world. Guess what.
Congrats on getting your suggestion reacted to! I liked it! ❤ 😊
I will give you a hint. His name start with Kj and end with il.
Frost
Отцы for example!!!
I agree with you on the vocals. Many bands out there are amazing like these guys and totally turn me off when the vocals kick in.
Next time I will go moore mainstream. Maby Edith Piaf. Just wanted to broaden your horizon.
RAMMSTEIN "DU HAST' LIVE FROM PARIS! You won't be dissapointed! ❤👩🦰
