Talk about timing! I purchased one of those overpriced frames for my Frame TV and don’t care for the finish (too yellow). I had decided just this morning to return it and either get a different style or see if my husband could make one, and then you posted your video! I am definitely going to return it and DIY a frame. And I love your finish! I also like the trim you added to the inside of your frame, it really takes it to the next level. Regarding the sensor, the frame I purchased is routered out on the bottom piece to accommodate it. I noticed someone else suggested that solution, as well. Thank you for all your wonderful ideas and your “can-do” attitude. You’ve given me confidence to tackle many DIY projects in my home.
That is so pretty! TV's have come a long ways since I was a little girl. I remember my parents getting a console tv and they would have us kids turn the chanel for them. That was the old time remote control. 😂 My boys laugh at me when I tell them about it. 😂 Your tv is beautiful!
It looks absolutely perfect. Elegant. Discreet. Toned down. Classic. Well done. So interesting to hear the prices. Still have a box television in South Africa. Not sure if that counts as vintage or retro! Lol!
I just bought the 2022 model, there’s a setting that automatically turns down the brightness in low/ambient light, not sure if that is with other models. Also when there is pitch black, as if tv is the only source and it’s in art mode it will turn off automatically which is another setting. I mean you can’t see a painting anyway in pitch black. The 2022 is the way to go if you really want the TV to be a piece of art, thinner, and the screen is matte, no reflection at all.
Hello, I’m Debra. I just found your channel. I’m really enjoying everything that I’ve seen. Your style is exactly the style that I like. You’ve in spired me to refresh my home. I wish you lived closer. LOL. I’m wondering, have you printed a book. I think your work what absolutely support books sales.
Love this I'm so glad to see this done I forgot to mention I'm new to your channel so I've been binging your videos but in one of your videos on the things that our husbands want to keep that we sometimes dislike like they're recliners and they're huge TVs I mentioned that I wanted to get one of these TVs and I felt that when I purchased one there's no reason why I cannot build a frame and seeing you do this just upsets my confidence level of knowing that I can do this so it looks beautiful and that is the exact kind of finish that I'm wanting to do I love that finish on frames for artwork well done thanks for sharing love your channel by the way👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💛
I’m so glad you made this video! I’m getting ready to buy a frame tv. I was surprised at how expensive the frames were and was wondering if it would be possible to make one. Yours look awesome! So now I’m gonna go for it! Thanks again😊
I love the extra trim piece you added. elegant but still simple. I want to try this but my tv is sitting on the mantle and can't be hung on the brick. Might try and see what I can do. Thanks for the inspiration!!
Laura, we have kind of the same problem. We have plaster and lath downstairs and directly behind it is the brick chimney over the mantle. That is one of the reasons we have been so hesitant to hang a frame TV up over the mantle. My husband suggested building a bump out over it to hide the electronics. We will see!
It looks good but i think u missed so much imp info specially for people like us who are knew to DIy. HOw did u add that designed looking trim on top of simple frame u made first ?
The sensor hangs down below the TV and picks up signals in 360 degrees, so the frame is only blocking the front edge of the sensor. It hasn’t caused us any problems.
Just curious if a frame like the one you made could work on a standard flat-screen TV. I won't be spending even $800 on another TV, especially since it has to be on all the time.
How could you possibly feel insecure about this diy?! 😍😍 This looks absolutely gorgeous!!! You guys did a beautiful job! I just bought a frame tv and couldn’t bear the idea of purchasing a $400 frame after already spending so much on the tv! So thank you so much for the inspo Sarah!
This is a good video but the only reason I searched for DIY frames was to see how it hooks on. Is there any special thing that needs to be done to have it hold?
I was worried when you said that you were going with a simple frame over an ornate piece of furniture. However, bravo 👏. You made the right choice in my opinion. I love it!! Thanks for sharing that with us.
Love it! I was debating as to whether to put a frame TV over my fireplace mantle. I hate losing my mantle, but this looks really elegant. Love the DYI frame idea!
I love it! Those TVs are pretty expensive already but I can’t believe the price of the frame! I would totally DIY one now that you did this awesome video 😊
Do you change the picture at all so that it won't burn onto the plasma TV? How have you overcome that? My husband would not allow me to do that unless I can assure him it wouldn't burn onto the screen 😂
My husband said the same thing! Here is what Samsung has to say about that- "The Frame is designed to withstand prolong display of art and photos. Therefore the panels used in The Frame are not prone to screen burn out issues as other TVs” We haven’t had any trouble with it, also when no one is in the room, they art goes away.
Would love to see a few videos on CottageCore decorating. It seems everyone in RUclips land that promoted farmhouse styles is now throwing a few pieces of color in and calling it CottageCore. I feel cheated. I remember an episode of yours that seemed to truly give a few examples of what I'm looking for in CottageCore.
We drilled a little hole in the wall behind the tv and then another one down behind the dresser. Then, we threaded it into the wall and back out at the bottom to plug it in!👏👏👏

I love the framed TV. Turned out perfect to me. You're the best.

Hi Debra, and welcome to the SHD community! I've published ebooks, but nothing hard-bound at this time! Thank you for your kind words, though!
Hi I was hoping you could tell me what is color Rub and Buff you used? It all looks perfect!
Here is the one I like! amzn.to/38rKruG
@@SheHoldsDearly Thank you!
Love it! Never heard of this frame tv but does it come without the AI/listening device? That really creeps me out with all the new tech
I agree about the AI device. If it has it, we don’t use it, but I would research that before buying.
Does the frame impact the sensor in any way? I just hung my frame TV and was taken aback with frame costs. This DIY is right in time.
Our sensor isn't bothered at all!
Wow! That sure turned out great! My fav color is blue so I just love pretty much everything you had going on there. Aaawesome!!!
Thanks! How did you attach your frame to the TV?
It's so snug it didn't need anything to attach it. It just holds on because of how we measured and cut the pieces!

Glad you're here, Kim! :)

Great, Janice! Have fun!

Great idea!

The plain wood with the decorate-inside trim is beautiful for your tv. Thanks
It looks so good. I especially like the added trim.
Glad you like it!
Love it!! What version of the tv did you get 2020 or 2021?
We got the 2020!
Do you have any issues with the auto brightness or the remote since you’ve got that sensor partially blocked?
We haven't noticed any issues!
Beautiful! I think it was a good idea to add the extra piece of trim. It made the box frame look like a fancy, picture frame instead. 👏
It looks good but i think u missed so much imp info specially for people like us who are knew to DIy. HOw did u add that designed looking trim on top of simple frame u made first ?
It was a simple trim piece we bought at home depot, cut to size and then attached to the wooden frame with our pin nailer! :)
@@SheHoldsDearly thanks
Looks great. So was the sensor blocked?
It has worked fine!
I think the framed TV looks perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Definitely a keeper! I wouldn't change a thing. It looks polished and elegant. Loved this DIY segment!
Thanks so much 😊
I’m curious, doesn’t the frame cover the sensor? Love your videos!
Yes, I think this same process could work on a flat screen!
Can you explain the L bracket you added?
How could you possibly feel insecure about this diy?! 😍😍 This looks absolutely gorgeous!!! You guys did a beautiful job! I just bought a frame tv and couldn’t bear the idea of purchasing a $400 frame after already spending so much on the tv! So thank you so much for the inspo Sarah!
Well that looks fabulous 😍
Brilliant!!! I love how it turned out! ❤️
Did the DIY frame affect the TV’s remote control sensor?
Nope, we haven't had any issues!
This is a good video but the only reason I searched for DIY frames was to see how it hooks on. Is there any special thing that needs to be done to have it hold?
Ours was a snug enough fit that it stuck on without needing kind of attachment!
Impressive!! Yes, more DIY's please and thank you.
It looks perfect 🤎👏🏻 Good job, Sarah🤎👏🏻
Looks fabulous!
Great job! I’m not sure what you felt unsure about.
Beautiful job! I just love your taste.
I was worried when you said that you were going with a simple frame over an ornate piece of furniture. However, bravo 👏. You made the right choice in my opinion. I love it!! Thanks for sharing that with us.

Love it . Looks beautiful
I think the frame looks great! ❤️

Gorgeous, Sarah!!
Thank you!! 😊
Absolutely beautiful …!!!!!🥰
I would love to see more diys. You do a wonderful job, the tv looks gorgeous & I love to watch you explain everything in detail, thank you.
I love it! Those TVs are pretty expensive already but I can’t believe the price of the frame! I would totally DIY one now that you did this awesome video 😊
Love tv frame....good job!
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for sharing this! When it's time for us to get ours I'm sure we will use this tutorial! Great work, Sarah!
Do you have a router that can carve a little hole into the inside of the frame to slide the sensor into? I like the idea of the frame art TV too.
That's an idea, thank you!
@@SheHoldsDearly You're welcome! smile!
Looks awesome great work!!
Glad you like it
Where did you store the DVD or Dish box to use with the TV?
Its all in the top drawer of the dresser!
Do you change the picture at all so that it won't burn onto the plasma TV? How have you overcome that? My husband would not allow me to do that unless I can assure him it wouldn't burn onto the screen 😂

Beautiful!
It looks beautiful! I’ve been wanting to get a frame tv so bad. I definitely would love to make it look like yours. Thanks for the inspiration! 😃
where is the added trim from ?
Home Depot!
I love it.
if you use a reverse cove moulding that they use @ professional picture framing...that would solve the space you see.
Thank you
NO you shouldn't keep the frame........you should sell it to me!!!!! Lol Everything you do is beyond gorgeous and this is no exception.
You had me in the first half there, not going to lie! (As the kids say now a days!)

nice!! p.s. that color is beautiful on you.
Cool.!😀
Great video! If you can’t DIY go to hobby lobby they’ll make you one customized
I love it!
Very nice but won't work for us because of our sound bar on bottom. ☹
Cute.
It’s beautiful!! I hope we can do something similar one day 😊 Nicely done! 👏🏻✨
How did you hide your cord?
It has a single cord that passes through the wall to a controller. It's nice because all your wires connect to the single controller.
We drilled a little hole in the wall behind the tv and then another one down behind the dresser. Then, we threaded it into the wall and back out at the bottom to plug it in!👏👏👏
You did NOT discuss the function or the work around for the sensor making this useless.
The sensor functions perfectly even with the frame installed. :)
