Would this product be able to upmix or downmix? Like taking four 4k signals and outputting a single composite 8k signal? Or split a single 8k video stream and outputting four 4k signals?
No, this is a Matrix Switch. You are looking for a Multiview or Video Wall Processor. No one currently makes something like that for 8K. The only way to do that currently is through powerful custom computers..... But we are working on it!
Input 1 Ps5 (4K 120Hz) Input 2 Xbox series X (4K 120Hz) Input 3 PC Nvidia 3090 (4K up to 220FPS) Input 4 Ps4 (4K 60Hz) Output 1 LG G2 (HDMI 2.1) Output 2 Sony A95K (HDMI 2.1) Output 3 Avermedia capture card (HDMI 2.0) Which EDID settings should I apply?
Hey Saints, sorry for the delay, I missed your comment! This is what I would do: Use EDID from the Sony A95K on all the inputs, then set your scaling on the Avermedia Capture Card to always get 4K. Variables to think about; if you are using an AVR it might not like the HDMI 2.1 signals and downscale around it by using another HDMI output just for the AVR. If you are playing a game in VRR it won't scale and your capture card could drop signal, so if your recording for twitch I would set your consoles to not do VRR, if you are not currently streaming leave it on though because it can make the cut scenes more cinematic. (In the future because games are just developing this tech). But you got a sweet set up with the best of the best!
The switcher is great but if most of my TVs are 40-50 feet away, can HDMI 8K signal travel that far?
Hi mrteausaable. For long runs like that, we recommend using AOC HDMI cables for uncompressed audio and video
