    The rounded ends of course makes sense, but is there any purpose beyond aesthetics to the rounded section in the middle?

      Definitely would help students to imagine the 'energy ball' inbetween their hands. visualization is hyper important during Tai Chi training. :)

      Opens meridians the hands and feet mirror the whole body decreases blockage Easier transition to sword form less space needed 👌 🙌

      It depends on who needs it. It is a training tool, probably more for beginners and less coordinated people. I have seen boxing coaches tie their student's legs with a measured strap so that they learn how not to step too wide.
