      Have you left the plate, between the oil sump and the engine block? Though, I don't know if that would be the reason.

      Hello.
      Well I just bought the car, changed the timing belt and noticed some pitting on the camshaft tips. Maybe the previous owner used wrong oil or was lazy changing it. So Im going to change the camshaft and lifters.
      I figured this might be a good time to clean the intake manifold, maybe take off the cylinder head and check/clean everything.

      Hi, no Audi was 2wd, I don't think that you can adapt. I think, that if CV's are very high and driveshaft on really high angle, propshaft would need to go through body panels.

      @@Ottobrain maybe I misunderstood you. My Syncro after the engine swap is still 4WD, as I changed only the engine, the drive system is still the same. Now the AUDI was 2wd. But even if it were a Quattro, I believe that you can't adapt the Quattro system to a VW T3. Because when you flip it, the drive outputs of the gearbox get really high, as I mentioned before. Let me know, if you will come up with any solution. I have heard, that people are adopting Subaru gearboxes. You need to upgrade R&P of the gearbox, it's side interchangeable, probably you could flip the front DIFF or there are also R&P made to rotate in another direction.

      @jw9184 2 года назад +1

      @@Gadomaitis I totally understand - maybe just in terms of length to fit as perfectly as it does, or else your approach to making the part - what measures you took (ex. distance between the two zones it screws into and measure of the distance it needs to curve around the engine) what factors you took into account (weight of the engine?) how you decided on the thickness of it as a support, and the zone exactly where you placed it. Sorry for all the questions but this is new to me. Any guidance you can lend without racking your brain too much (having to think too hard) would be great. Cheers.

      @@jw9184 now I'm a little bit ashamed after your questions, as I haven't done any calculations. I have used everything that I was able to find in my garage and I was hoping it will be enough, and I must say it's still holding fine. I have curved it around the engine on the site, made a cut, but not cut into two pieces and I have bent it to the right angle and welded it back. As the engine hangs on 4 engine mounts, I assumed that if 3 o them going to be bolted that would give me exact distance and length of the support. Sorry, I think I can't help with the dimensions of this engine mount.

      @@Gadomaitis Though AFAIK you can buy only an EURO4 DPF and get it registered at a German TUV. I'd also be interested in this for my 1.9TDIs - but in Finland there is no way to add it to registration papers and some cities have started to require EURO6 while there isn't even a EURO5 DPF for my AWX :(. Would need a complete engine swap (and still registration with upgraded emission-class).
      The only way to actually do it would be to make an EV, which is possible and wouldn't need any emissions stuff of course. I think EURO6 is not really possible for vehicles since they really require adblue injection...

    • @Gadomaitis
      @Gadomaitis  3 года назад

      Actually I'm thinking the same way, I have seen on FB people are doing EV swaps and it's doable. Another good thing with EV swaps is the gearbox. Originally it's a weak spot and the swap can eliminate it. Of course, going EV is not as easy as Instal bolt on AFN engine.

Then from ecu to the fuse box loom side connect 3,31,62 pins with power, (12 volts) ignition live. Then 1 and 2 pins with the ground. The engine should make some clicking sound. The rest will be to connect the dash according to the wiring diagram that you will find on google. There is also white smoke, when I start the engine, but there's no smell of burned oil, like I used to feel earlier from 1Z engine with dead turbo. I believe that leak is +- normal for an engine with +300k km.and also i don't know the history of my donor car. Do you have same setup?
