That's true man, with twitch you need to be in it for the long ride. But there definitely are some things that help. When I made my twitch guide I even learned a few new ones myself and they definitely help when you put them all into practice!
Been streaming under multiple aliases and a long enough time (since 2012) to say that this is very true. I've been streaming up and down, giving up and picking it up again these past couple years and only now, 7 years later, I'm starting to gain a good base of viewers, it's not a lot (18 peak) but in the streaming world, this means a lot. That's what counts.
@@ohyeahyeah3567 How the heck do you grow that fast? I'm at 300 in 2 months, but this stream tonight I was live for 4.5 hours and had an avg of 19 viewers! So stoked on the support!💚
Do you think that having a face cam helps? Because i know that when i watch a streamer the face cam makes it more interactive like you are involved. thanks!
Oh my God, I used to watch your channel like 7 years ago. I remember watching all your product reviews and your Christmas vlog and you new house tour. That was a lot of fun man. I'm so glad to see you're still making videos
These are good tips. One thing I will say is don't be shy about putting your twitch link in your game. Remember I'm not big enough to not be doing my own plugs and don't be discouraged if people are throwing shade. As long as you do work people will check you out and don't forget to interact with chat and when chat is not talking don't just be silent. People will pop in and out and if you are just quiet they will leave. Give them something to interact with and they will.
I'm new to the stream game and greatly appreciate your guidance and tips. I am a retired US Navy Officer and love playing PC games and communicating to the public. Your tips are awesome and will use them greatly. Good luck to you. By the way my twitch account is Originalhitman, just in case you want to drop by.
This really helped me out! I started my twitch channel about a month ago and i'm so close to 50 followers and it's so damn exciting to see and meet new people who actually enjoy being in my streams and interacting with me
Wait a second... The tipp number 2 is kinda not so helpful. If you play games everyone is playing or everyone want's to watch it then you go under within all these other streamers streaming at the same time like you. I don't think that would be helpful. :/ But correct me if you made other experiences with it.
Hey boo. You kinda have to stream games people enjoy watching you play, and that means you have to stream poular games. But, and I can't stress this enough, take your time and see when the well-known streamers stream and do yourself a favour and don't stream then. You can stream when the game has 3000 viewers (or something around), or not in the "rush-hours". This is a very easy way to build a small but steady comunity.
It completely depends on the game. Try to play something that is popular, but not TOO popular. For example, Siege continues to perform well. It's not as large as Fortnite, but there's still a lot of interest there.
When I stream Fortnite I pull in the most views/follows a day by far even when Ninja is streaming. If you get lucky and are streaming while he hops off then you can get a ton of his viewers looking for other streams. I used to stream sports games like FIFA, Madden, Rocket League and more popular games like Overwatch, Pubg and other popular ones and barely got any follows or viewers/total views. As soon as I switched to Fortnite I started to get a ton more total viewers, followers, chatters in general, Maybe it's just random but it seems to have helped my channel a ton over the last 2 months.
Hi David, My name is Chloe and I began streaming when RUclips took any chance of me getting support to grow my stream this Feb. I have some very serious health issues and have been at my channel for about a year in June and streaming Twitch since March or so this year. It is coming along. I found your video on a sleepless night due to pain and discomfort. Its tough having had over 20 surgeries and still fighting for some other identity other than a "patient". SO I just wanted to tell you this video resonated with me and I needed to hear that indeed I am doing all I can thus far and it DOES take time. THANK YOU ~ Chloe
I find being interactive with my chat and just sort of talking out my thoughts helps keep people in my chat and viewing. I only have like 5 people that do constantly watch but its 5 more than I was when I started.
Paronax not everyone streams with that goal in mind... while some people are unrealistic in their goals, most are simply trying to have fun communicating with others regarding subjects of mutual enjoyment
I regularly stream on Twitch i just got my Sub button but still noone watches idk why i have good quality i read the chat and people just enter and leave! :( Im streaming about 1 year.... sad life
You have inspired me to start streaming, I'm always sitting down at home watching people like you I know you only have 3,000 that's amazing i would be happy with 10 aha this video just made me change am so happy to see people like you guys supporting him. There are nice people out there 👌🏽👌🏽
it helps to get into a community, it helps to go to other streams (not self promote) but just genuinely be there, have a good time, and get to know people.
Hey David!! Ty for making the video. I have been streaming for about 60 months. Alot of what you said I have learned already but there where some things that I felt I learned. Mostly though, TY for the encouragement! It is about patience and being consistant. My heart is for my viewers and community! Looking forward to following your stream and more videos!
This might seem kinda scummy but if you want go to streamers channels and whisper people in chat if they wanna check out your stream but don’t ask it in chat
Your video is the first that I've seen on the subject of Twitch. I heard about this stream from another person who plays Marvel Puzzle Quest. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us here on RUclips.
Hey David, do you have the connection between RUclips and Twitch? For example, when I’m watching someone’s video on RUclips and they are streaming on Twitch, it will pop up and say that they are Currently Streaming! If not, you should check that out. It always gets me to click over to their livestream. Best Wishes, keep up the streams!
Actually, I just checked... I don't think the option is there anymore. :( I know RUclips has been discontinuing support for annotations, so that probably has something to do with it.
I love your giant clock. And yes. You are right with everything you said, especially when it comes to games that we want to play, and what others like to watch you playing.
Today was my first day of streaming in over a year. I gained 10 followers and my view number went up by 50. I made some new friends and I had a really good time streaming. I’m genuinely excited about doing it again tomorrow and I haven’t been excited about anything like this in forever.
Yup. I started about 35 days ago. I have nearly 400 followers...I just had a 75 viewer average for the month...and 109 avg for the week. Growth has been crazy consistent.
Would you say that you can use a microphone only or webcam aswell i like just having my voice instead of live face cam because i get nervous Would you say face cam helps you grow better?
Bro, I've been streaming regularly for 2 years, I'm not kidding, and I have 10 followers. I stream 1080p 60fps, I got an overlay, and I talk to everyone! Idk what is wrong
THANK YOU sooooooooooooooooooooooo much i cant believe the progress i allready made in just 10 minutes using the website you linked below your an amazing person and i wish u the best with your youtube channel aswell as your twitch !!
snow snow nice dude! Also just started the twitch grind, been streaming about a week. Currently at 4 followers and hats crazy you got 10 followers first stream. What did you stream?
Man I’m really struggling to even get a view I just started streaming around 2 weeks ago playing overwatch or a hour or two everyday literally and I haven’t gotten a single view yet, I just figured out how to save my past streams today so I left today’s up and I’m hoping that helps me out it’s just been hard trying to get “the ball rolling”
It takes time man, but keeping at it helps a ton, best of luck, I’ve been streaming a year, and am just about to hit 3000 followers and have an average of around 25+ viewership
Yeah bud it takes time , rn I’m streaming GOW (kind of late) but I’m averaging 3-5 viewers a day and it’s been fun conversing with them. I started streaming a week ago, good luck bud
The best 5 ways to grow your twitch channel in 2018: 1. Stream Fortnite 2. Stream Any Battle Royale (PUBG or Paladins Realm Royale) 3. Stream Fortnite (again) 4. Stream Any Battle Royale (PUBG or Paladains Realm Royale) 5. Stream Fortnite (for the final time) **repeat this routine on a daily basis for 14 hours and you will have more subs than ninja jn around 2 weeks**
Hate how everyone makes it seem this simple. I have been grinding for three days straight getting my own personal banner color scheme working on making my own twitch overlays making my twitch stream different and unique. I stream on a regular basis except for recently (issues) but I do. It’s hard for people to come to your channel if you are consistently at 0 views. No one I know scrolls to the bottom of a game list and say oh cool a 0 viewer stream. As far as interacting with an audience, there is no way anyone in there right mind would talk for 1-8 hours a day three-seven days a week to absolutely no one. RUclips you actually see progression slowly in viewership and see an audience coming and checking you out. I’ll come back for an update in a couple days after I start up again and let you know if your tips worked! See ya soon
This was helpful! I’m trying to grow my twitch honestly. And I’ve been looking up ways and yours was just to the point!! I’ll give you a follow for sure!!!
That makes it very hard to build a community. When I stream I stream at the same time every day and people are starting to get there schedules around my stream, they get out of school, hop in my stream, play then rinse and repeat. It's very good to interact with your community whether it's playing with them or just talking to them in chat, discord, social media, etc.
Subbed because I'm just starting out and I like your genuine approach. I'm now invested in how you're developing. Appreciate the tips, and just a quick question; how long did it take you to get the 30-40 regulars?
Great video Dave! sound:Great! Visual:Grand! Delivery: Natural and Genuine. Its almost just like The public Speaking Class I graduated from in college! Keep it up man!
I been having a twitch channel but sadly i wasnt active till like a few days ago i really want to grow my channel and hopefully someday get to where you are at man! This helped alot thanks
Hey i like your set up. What type/size monitor is that u have on your wall if you don't mind me asking. Going to be moving down to Florida for school and have to get an appartment and looking for new setup especially for streaming so i can see whos watching and my chat. Also of you dont mind me asking what do you use to broadcast. I mostly used xsplit and like it but kinda limited with the free version
Thanks!!!! I just decided I’m going to stream starting this weekend. I wanna spend more time playing and I figured I’d like to meet some people in the process. Super helpful video.
So I have no problem GETTING viewers, but it’s hard to make them stay. I read the chat, talk a lot, have pretty good quality gameplay, do you have any other suggestions?
when i go live every time it says i have 2 viewers but when i look at who’s viewed, there’s 3 of the same people, not sure if they are loyal or somethin!
Interesting tips. I will definitely try to use them. I have question about setting goals. Do you do something special ones you reach a goal? I recently started to stream, so I think about setting a goal of getting my first 10 followers. But what can I do to acknowledge reaching this goal?
Do you have a vid on how to start? I just started but all I'm using is twitch app on Xbox one x. I plan to do both PS4 and Xbox one x but I'm having face time questions. Due to the app I'm not rendering or using a PC with elgato. Trying to learn all the basics beside what I'm doing now.
hi , ty for your tips. i'm an italian small streamer and i find very helpfull the "set a daily follower goal" tips. But i can only found a long time term counter or goal metere. I see a lot of streamer with a simple "daily sub goal 0/5". there is a way to set it? Ty again for your tips :)
I followed you on Twitch. :) But if I am a full time student, and I couldn’t have a regular stream time, what should I do? Btw, thank you for all the amazing tips! 😉😉
Great video man ! I subbed ! This video has some great advice in it rather than the same old stuff on other videos that doesn't work..... Keep up the good work 👍
Max Andre you should get the streamlabs obs...everything is integrated right in obs, you got your chat, view counter, recent events list, and of course all your obs stuff.
Don't know if you'll see this now. You said play games people want to watch. I've thought about this in two ways: 1. Games like fortnite have 300,000(I don't know if that's accurate lol) people watching at a time, so there's a large audience there. 2. That large audience is 99.9% in 1 stream like ninja and your stream is going to be all the way down the list and no one will see it. Is it still worth it to play even when someone is "hogging"(he deserves it though) the views?
That's a giant clock....😂😂😂
BRO you trying to twitch stream too? Hahaha
Lol that was comedy. Good one dude.
I SAW THIS COMMENT AS SOON AS HE SAID THAT LMAO

3000 FOLLOWERS! Congrats dude! That’s crazy, I had no idea how big your twitch channel has gotten! You deserve every single follower and more.

The best 5 ways to grow your twitch channel in 2018:
1. Stream Fortnite
2. Stream Any Battle Royale (PUBG or Paladins Realm Royale)
3. Stream Fortnite (again)
4. Stream Any Battle Royale (PUBG or Paladains Realm Royale)
5. Stream Fortnite (for the final time)

Hi David! Ohhh man. I'm a fan of Lemins! That's for sure! Btw, how do you add that Giant Clock?
can you do any of these edits from a mac pro? speaking about the overlays and dealing with stream labs and all that
Should i start a twitch channel david?
Love the intro bro
i don’t have a good pc so i have to stream on xbox and i don’t know how to setup any boundaries on the stream i can only get it on face cam
I cracked up at "... That's a giant clock" 😂 😂 😂
Good video David, you have such a clean setup!
when i go live every time it says i have 2 viewers but when i look at who’s viewed, there’s 3 of the same people, not sure if they are loyal or somethin!
Interesting tips. I will definitely try to use them. I have question about setting goals. Do you do something special ones you reach a goal? I recently started to stream, so I think about setting a goal of getting my first 10 followers. But what can I do to acknowledge reaching this goal?
Great video! "Yes, that's a giant clock"
I've been thinking about starting my own stream. Thanks for posting.
What software do you have to show your chat up on your screen like that? Is it just twitch dashboard?
Hey! New to twitch. Do you think Halo Master Chief Collection is foolish to Twitch with?
Omg where did you get your twitch hoodie? 😍
Do u think I'm doing well, I've been streaming fortnite and roblox for 2 days. I have 3 or 4 followers and get about 3 to 6 viewers at a time
Venture With Sean i have in 3 months and get 0 viewers
I'm a new streamer and I need some help figuring out what equipment I should use. Would you mind giving me a hand?
Love the 5 tips and really love the 2018 stamp. Honestly that's why I commented. Thank you Sir.
How would you get overlays and alerts if you’re streaming from Xbox to Twitch
Hey so I've been working on the interface I'm just having trouble figuring it out
Like the overlays and how do I get them to work
maybe this is a weird question, but I feel awkward when i'm talking to myself anything that can help me not feel awkward?
SniperShadow YT just keep doing it will get normal after awhile
i love your setup david, thanks for the advice!
I followed you on Twitch. :)
But if I am a full time student,
and I couldn’t have a regular stream time, what should I do?
Btw, thank you for all the amazing tips! 😉😉
do you have advice on how to get more viewers when you are in the low 5-10 viewers a stream?
Hey david what camera are you using?
Great video man ! I subbed ! This video has some great advice in it rather than the same old stuff on other videos that doesn't work..... Keep up the good work 👍
Hi David, I am wondering what the best way to have chat open and your OBS open side by side? What do you do? This would be a huge help, thank you!
Max Andre you should get the streamlabs obs...everything is integrated right in obs, you got your chat, view counter, recent events list, and of course all your obs stuff.
Hi I am trying to start a following on twitch but finding it hard to get people to the stream
Great tips man. I just passed 100 followers myself as an affiliate and I’m gonna keep at it. Thanks man!
I LOVE THAT SETUP!!!!!!! Do you have a video on it?
Nice video dude :D You seem like a good twitch personality x D
Don't know if you'll see this now. You said play games people want to watch. I've thought about this in two ways: 1. Games like fortnite have 300,000(I don't know if that's accurate lol) people watching at a time, so there's a large audience there. 2. That large audience is 99.9% in 1 stream like ninja and your stream is going to be all the way down the list and no one will see it. Is it still worth it to play even when someone is "hogging"(he deserves it though) the views?
